Most prints have the cartoon cropped in 1080p HD 16:9 widescreen. We need a print of the cartoon in its original Academy ratio format in 1080p HD.
I think we should use the Super Stars DVD print as a source and upscale and enhance it with color, brightness, sharpness and contrast adjustments to match with the HD footage, but make it accurate to the original theatrical release of the short film, using Topaz Lab AI and Adobe software. No compressing issues will be made.
What would you say if you made an HD copy of the cartoon in its original Academy ratio format?
3.1 is the latest version as October 2021, according to Wikipedia.
Replace the alien subtitles from the GOUT and use the ones from the Despecialized Edition.
The HD copies have a widescreen version of the film, which crops the picture, zooms it in and it cuts off the top and bottom to create a fake widescreen and loosing image information.
We need a 4K copy of the film in its original aspect ratio.
Does anyone have a 4K 35mm print of the film in 1:85:1 widescreen? We need to upscale and restore it with cleanup, enhancement, color correction, brightness, sharpening and contrast to match with the HD footage, but to make it accurate with its theatrical release. You might need Topaz Lab AI and Adobe Software to do it. We might also need to add some film grain to feel the 35mm film effect.
Here are some pictures of what I’m saying about the aspect ratio.

I would really like to see the movie in its original aspect ratio.
We also need audio options and subtitles from the Blu-ray or DVD.
I would really appreciate your help on this.
Oh.
It’s on Blu-ray right in this link. Copy and paste it onto an empty tab.
How are you doing right now on your restoration?
What about the two frames that were missing in the GOUT version of ROTJ?
I think I saw a Blu-ray release by an Etsy seller named “StarWarsRarities”. It was sold out, but will be back in stock.
Are you remastering the original cut of this movie in 4K resolution?
Awesome to hear someone is working on this! If possible, please use the untouched DVD this time 😃 The fact that you didn’t use the untouched Blu-ray for your That 70’s Show restoration is the only thing holding me back from grabbing it 😦
What’s wrong with the Blu-ray versions?
Is “Babysitter Fright Night” uncut?
What software did you use to color correct the film to make it resemble the 35mm film?
After many years as the lost 70mm print is lost, it’s finally found! Isn’t that right, Harmy.
Hey Trist, don’t forget to fix that splice in the third reel.
I can’t wait for the 70mm version of ESB to happen.
Have you finished it yet?
It’s just that I was hoping that later versions have that fixed.
You mean, there are no longer any syncing issues with 4K83?
I mean does it have no sync-problems? Is the audio normally back in sync, which is GOUT-synced?
4K83 is not gout synced. It has two extra frames shown in theatres.
The optical print audio is the primary audio track.
hairy_hen has created a new 5.1 audio track for this release.
schorman has updated all the English LaserDisc audio to this release.
All audio provided with 4k83 is synced to 4k83.Any other gout audio you may have may be slightly out of sync after 0:47:41, if used with 4k83. It should not be noticeable though.
Foreign language tracks don’t lip sync anyway so you’d never notice it being slightly out.
In updating the audio tracks for 4k83 our audio experts actually discovered that the gout synced audio tracks are not actually properly gout synced themselves. All tracks are off sync by 2 to 3 frames for over half of the movie.
In the new version of 4K83, is the audio back in sync?
I was talking to Harmy, not you.
Hey, Harmy. I have a couple questions to ask you:
I’m just saying what C-3PO said when in the desert.
