Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)

So the Forcecast released a new podcast today. It's pre-recorded and they apparently only had heard the first two audio leaks from the blu-rays. I have to say it's pretty sad listening to them try to justify the changes while you can hear the disappointment in their voices. You can listen to the podcast here.

Here are some highlights:

54:32 They first start discussing the blu-rays

76:54 They discuss rumors of the ewok eyes being changed and Jason confuses the 2004 release with tweaks done to Greedo in "Star Wars: Revised"

79:59 Jason reveals his love for Hayden in ROTJ, Jimmy reveals his disdain for the change in pacing with the added shuttle and changed dialog in ESB

91:38 Jason reveals he had never noticed the Emperor's slug before and neither of them had ever heard the term "Emperor's Slug" before

93:16 Jason extolls the fact that George changes the films in each release and that to him it's like Christmas

94:33 They discuss how they learned a year ago from Matt Wood that in 2007 he, Dave Accord and Tom Myers had gone back into the audio to "clean it up"

95:50 the start of Matt Wood's discussion

99:25 They play the leaked audio of the new Krayt yell and quickly try to justify it, call it cool and ominous

101:01 They spend two and a half minutes trying to set up and justify the new Vader dialog before finally playing it

104:21 After the clip they both kind of pause and stumble before launching into justifications

111:25 They hint that maybe the vader scene isn't real anyway

After listening to the podcast if you'd like there are two ways to contact them. The first is their email which is forcecast@forcecast.net or you can leave a voice message at (330) 754-05FC (0532). If you decide to contact them please try and remain civil.

What a bunch of fucktards.

'Cgi Yoda is a superior effect!?'

What the Fuck!?

How is a cartoon a better effect than a practical effect? Puppet Yoda requires actual work, as opposed to sitting on your arse doing nothing and occasionally clicking.

Yeah sure using a puppet may be a pain in the arse and may take time and a lot of effort, but that effort will actually show up on screen.

...Okay, I end up reading a boatload of your posts anyway. I love web archive! It also has previous versions of websites that aren't protected by bot crawlers or whatever... we can see what OT.com was like back in 2004!

*Runs to check*

Gosh, golly, gee wiz. The good ol' OT.Com sure has changed over the years...

I was wandering round the internets and stumbled upon something cool.#

http://www.archive.org/

Check it out. It's got old archived radio shows, films and more!

Nice of you to catch up to 1999 :p

Sorry, I had my mind wiped by...something...I vaguely remember something about star wars.... the colour blue... and the word 'Noooooo'.

I can't seem to remember anything from 1999 onwards. It kinda sucks, but on the bright side, I'm anxiously waiting to see 'The Phantom Menace'. Naturally it'll be as good as the other films, right?

Did you TYPE all that, or do you have a handy list to cut and paste?

Could you guys stop quoting that list?  It's murder on my phone.

Thanks.

Oh, and:

-TPM (L8wrtr edit)
-AOTC (JasonN edit)
-ROTS (JasonN edit)
-SW
-ESB
-ROTJ

That's it, that's the list.

(I enjoy the 2D clone wars episodes but they aren't part of my canon)

Which versions of SW, ESB, and ROTJ? ;)

I'm gonna punch you guys in the back of your heads.

Sorry.

;)

They're cheap, that's why. LFL is not a film company anymore, it's a corrupt multinational corporation that puts profit ahead of everything else. It's ironic because GL is a liberal who wrote SW as a rebellion against the "system."

As someone pointed out earlier, if George was trying to make a profit out of these changes, he would put more marketing into it. Unless the leak was INTENTIONAL and they did this to stir up interest...

Also, Mielr, that's a very astute point. Those probably are effects intended for the 3D release. That explains the doodads, at least.

edit: more Katie Lucas drama. ""There is a special place in Hell for haters next to the one for child molesters and people who talk obnoxiously in the theatre"

Don't you bring Firefly into this!

And you can't even get the quote right!!

Star Trek: TMP Warp Re-Edit

Written by VFlix
Monday, 29 March 2010

I recently had the privilege of viewing the second project by our very own editing master, Anti-Matter. I would like to propose that this technically is his first fan-edit because it comes on the heels of what is arguably the boldest editing endeavor ever to be conceived, executed and then successfully delivered to the fanedit community. His Star Wars Prologue was, in my thinking, more an opus than an edit.

I saw that edit a while back.

It was Shit.

He's fairly okay with visuals, but is really choppy when it comes to sound editing.

I never thought about that  It would have been a good idea.  I guess you had a shock too then lol.

This may just be me, but it's kind of hard to tell that Shaw has any discernible British accent in ROTJ.

I dunno, I thought it was pretty discernable
