Koyaanisqatsi

Very cool, loved all of the imagery. 8/10

Side note - I feel like I'm running out of movies to watch. That is, it's harder to find titles I haven't seen and am interested in. Not to sound like a film snob, but I've probably watched the major/most highly regarded films from the top directors from different countries. There are certainly many, many films I have yet to see from popular directors as well as lesser known ones, but I'm kind of unmotivated to seek out more movies. As such I find myself trying to keep pace with all the modern releases, especially independent ones.

^I think part of the critical reception, and I hate to say it, stemmed from Ledger's death. I can certainly guarantee you the man wouldn't have won that oscar if it wasn't a posthumous one. I'm not denying that he did more than justice to the role - because, he really did - but much of the hype and positive reviews probably had a lot to do with his death.

This, a million times this.  And truthfully, and obviously unfairly, this is one part of my disdain for the movie.  I got tired of people praising it endlessly (and Ledger's performance in particular) because he had tragically died.  He was good, not great, in my opinion.

I thought you were going to mention the part where the Joker has dogs attack Batman.

Ledger's death definitely increased the hype, but TDK had a huge level of anticipation to begin with. Plus, Ledger gave his performance before he passed, and I think the movie would have been well-received by audiences nonetheless.

Hey, did anybody play the PC adventure game Gabriel Knight back in the day?

The creator of the GK series, Jane Jensen, has a kickstarter project to launch her own independent gaming studio. They will produce a game called "Moebius" in the first yearly cycle.

Some of you may recall Mark Hamill did some great voice work for the first GK game.

Anybody who played classic adventure games like Gabriel Knight or other Sierra titles should check out Jane's project. We're close to the goal with 20 days left but need more backers. Spread the word!

Legend of Grimrock looks very interesting. It's a throwback to classic RPG dungeon crawlers like Eye of the Beholder. Only $12 to preorder on GOG or from the developers directly. So far all the reviews have been very positive. Comes out on Wednesday the 11th.
