STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I thought it would be worth showing this. This is an image from the new Lucas Arts game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. I believe this part of the game takes place on Cloud City. My understanding is that the timeline falls somewhere around the first couple of films. I think a lot of the details shown are interesting, especially the ship.

Thanks chief...

Well? Any help?

I think it should be said that being demanding and pushy does not inspire people who could be helpful into sending you a copy of this project. I know I speak for a lot of people with projects here (including myself) when I say that no one likes to be harangued. Not to sound like Suzy Crosswalk, but politeness goes a long way.

Me too. :) Even attended a few "Trekker" parties many moons ago (just an excuse to watch a bunch of Trek before a new movie came out, really) My favorite series overall was Deep Space Nine, though I've enjoyed all of them to varying degrees.

While we're on Trek (we'll stop soon, I'm sure!), do you like it to any degree, Ady?

I was loyal threw out growing up with Next Generation and onward. I had friends that were also fans but a lot of people disliked Deep Space Nine when it started. Mostly because it was so different. I stuck with it and it became a great show. I may go so far as to say it's my favorite. What I find ironic as that it's the closest Star Trek has come to bieng Star Wars. The Space Station bar on that show and the aliens (not to mention the later space battles) are total Star Wars rip-offs. So it's nice to see everything come full circle.

What the hell is Star Trek??

I'll pretend I didn't read that. Sure, Star Wars and Trek may have an unofficial (and overstated) rivalry, but personally I am a trekkie as well, and Trek is a monumental franchise in science fiction history. Even if you don't like it, it is still important- it came before Star Wars, and was the first serious science fiction show on television. Here's a wikipedia link.

And if you were joking, I stand as a Trekkie fool. :P

But this is all extremely off-topic.

I agree, all rivalries should be limited to purists v. lucas apologists, otherwise things will get very confusing. Though I will say that I'm probably disqualified as a Trekkie since Voyager is my favorite of the series. And as I understand it, it is not held in such high regard by true fans...

Back to the topic: I was wondering if the shield generator model was created from scratch or made from existing items, like so many SW props...

I was joking actually. But bringing it back on topic, Lucas has made statements about bieng a fan of Star Trek. I believe he even went so far as to say that was influenced by elements of Star Trek. The problem with Lucas saying anything about anything is he goes back and forth.

I was kidding. I couldn't resist. ;)

I'm a huge fan as it happens.

Old ( for starwars) is when you were old enough to have seen Starwars in 77' before it was A new Hope. I was about 5 when I watched Starwars in 77. I still remember watching it at that young of an age. The Special Editions were a dissapointment in my opinion. The original trilogy has not gotten a fair shake until Ady started his edit.

I was 2, but to this day it's one of my most vivid memories. You may scoff at that but it's true. What one of my favorite memories of all time (and favorite Star Wars memories) is when my father took me to Empire. We were late, we walked in exactly when Luke was hanging upside down. It was an amazing image to me. Then we sat down and I asked my dad "can we watch it twice?" He nodded yes.

But if we put the TIEs from ANHR and the TIEs from ESBR side by side, the ESBR one is going to look more blue, right (and same if we put an ESBR TIE in front of a Star Destroyer hull or other gray surface)?

No LESS blue than this...?

It's appearing that shade of blue because of the flash overexposed it.

So Adywan has picked a shade at random and is sticking to it? Whatever the real color of the original models, the intention in 1980 was to make them blue, it just wasn't a consistent shade of blue (after taking account for shadows and so forth). I just think it would be dull and annoying to turn them gray like ANH again.

I have not just picked a shade at random at all. I'm pretty sure ILM did when they first did ESB. I have checked every shot of TIEs in both ESB & ROTJ and the colouring is all over the place and it has nothing to do with shadowing or lighting, as i have mentioned before. I could have easily have just gone with grey for continuity but that was not the original colour of the model and how they were to be depicted in ESB & ROTJ. But with the ever changing colour a decision had to be made and i have gone with a balance that will still bring colour to them. the original models were painted "stormy sea blue" . The coloour si now discontinued and the toys are just a rough estimation so you can't go by the colour of them

I agree that the new toys do look bluer. As far as my memory of the original toy, the color does seem to be the same as the actual model, unless my mind is playing tricks on me. I may be "old" by the standards of some of these people in the forum born in the late 80's, but I'm not that old. ;)

I will say this. I had the orignal TIE-fighter toy with detachable sides. And it looked like that exact same color. Wish I still had it, but then don't we all.

I personally think that the alternative opening music is too busy, and frankly kind of distracting. It's nice (and typical of John Williams) but it just doesn't fit the mood of the scene. The music, as is, not only fits the scene well but it serves as a nice contrast to the opening of the first film which came in with guns blazing.

Would make an interesting alternative opening as a deleted scene though. :)

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
I just finished downloading The DVD9 from Demonoid for the third time. Just to recap, the first two times I downloaded it with Azureus, did hash check, etc. It came up as clean but it didn't work. This time I downloaded it with Bittornado. I have checked the files and...... drumroll.... it looks like it works! So somehow the crurruption was caused by Azureus the first two time. I haven't burned it yet but I don't excpect any problems. I want to thank everyone, including Adywan, who were very helpful in dealing with this problem. Cheers guys!

Just finished the torrent download. The ISO is perfect. ZERO problems. Plays and burns fine. Download without worry.

You finished the download already? That was fast. I'm not even half way done.

If the trouble is indeed at my end then hopefully this new download with a different torrent program will resolve it. But I do thank everyone for their time and support. It's a bit frustrating.

I think I should point out to anyone that is downloading the DVD9 from Demonoid that it doesn't work and seems corrupt. I downloaded it, in full, twice. burned it about 3 times and it just doesn't seem to work. I checked the files out on the hard drive and the film seems to repeat itself in the part where everyone is in the trash compactor.

ImperialFighter - check your PMs.

There was a fix posted. So everyone go ahead and download from the iso from Demonoid.

Yes I know it comes with a fix, I downloaded the ISO with the fix. I'm telling you it doesn't work. But you don't have to take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

Strange that you're the only one with a problem. Everyone else managed to use the fix.

I can only speak for my own problem. Like I said, you don't have to take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

i know its strange. I'll tell you what it sounds like to me, that the iso is somehow corrupt or hasn't actually finished downloading correctly (happened to me a few times when i used those horrible torrent thingies, although at the time the client reported the download as finihsed). Can you force your torrent client to do a hash recheck on the file.

I have done a hash recheck (using Azureus, the program I downloaded it with) but with no result. I agree, whatever happened, file sharing does seem to be the cause. But if it's corrupt in this way, does it make sense that I'm still able to access the files? The most important thing seems to be that when looking at individual files, I can't find the last half of the film.

I can try downloading it again using a different torrent program to see if i get a different result. Otherwise, as Jake Blues would say I'm "really up shit creek.". :)
