Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist

Just watching that clip I would say to cut down as many of the 3P0 scenes, especially before they get captured by the Ewoks (as they just come across as unnecessarily annoying, much less would give them away pretty easily).

I would probably cut out the scene with the trooper shooting and (ugh) "attempting" to capture Leia.  Jesus Christ, he has the first and SECOND shot and she can't even see him, and then he walks up behind her and says Freeze?!?  If he wanted to kill her to begin with, why do that?  You (or any editor) could just as easily edit that scene to end with Leia following Wicket back to his camp.

there's TWO troopers the one that is told to get his "ride" was the sniper, and the other was the "arrester"

Good all there (from a certain point of view)

But sand...fire? something more spacey for the sake of space fantasy thing?

I like the crawls they way they are.

still TMBTM gave us a nice taste of how an alternative crawl can be.

I remember that in ESB they ahd the crawl be blue over an icy landscape.

Thats more like it?

-Angel

Well, not sand, of course. I was just trying to give an example...

Think more, like, Superman opening - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qHDWdGPomw

You see how those letters disappear with a little visual effect? What if every line in the opening crawl would do the same but backwards. At first it's kind of blurry but then you can see it clearly.

Do you get the idea?

it seems i'm not the only one who likes those titles

i proposed in the radical prequels thread to have the crawl text replaced with something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyE1V6Ac49Q&feature=related though obviously withought the moving background and perhaps the voice over intro could be something from Ep III (perhaps Obi-Wan/Yoda/Qui-Gon saying something that wouldnt spoil the Darth Vader/Lukes Father angle) and maybe having instead of the destruction of Krypton it could be something else (Jedi Temple or Anakin burning up, or something)

though i admit this would be very plagiarist and perhaps too un-starwars and hard to do

^ What ? Maybe my language issue, but are you asking if the project has been released ???

Cause if it's the case, and despite I can't stand your audio inputs, you had it in your pm box since you requested it.

... Sorry if I misunderstood the question.

PS: And yes, rpvee, please just do it yourself. If you don't know how to do it you'll find right away through google and you'll find pretty fast simple freewares.

Kraycek### told Rpvee to "rip the CD" and to my knowledge you only released it via RAR archives

I'm not modifying my iPod and I'm not downloading software I don't know anything about.  Has no one already converted this to mp3?

You seem mad, but I'll bite.

Well, the fact that you want Mp3 files kind of tells you what you can do.

Grab the CD and rip the Mp3s using itunes, simple! Instant Mp3 or M4As for ipods. Stop being lazy and do it yourself!

has this been released via CD?

What is it in Empire that shrinks the universe? I know you don't like Vader being Luke's father but besides that. I agree with you on ROTJ, though.

Vader being switched to Luke's father was a major story shrink.  I suppose Lucas thought it was a huge enhancement\plot twist to make that change, but to me it was just an easy out when he didn't have any more story to tell. He already had two stories by the two people he had asked to write sequels, yet he chose to discard them.

He could have made a series of films where the main characters are presented with new challenges and adventures, e.g. James Bond, Indiana Jones, Star Trek.  Instead, he chose to continue by trying to tell the same story over and over again.

The Lando just happening to be nearby angle - oh and also coincidentally being  the previous owner of the Falcon - is textbook Lucas back-story shrinking. When he gets stuck without any story, he turns to shrinkage as an out.  Everything and everybody are somehow related.  No strangers, no vastness of space, no luck, no chance, no skill  - just convenience and smallness.  It's weak.

and Indy's father just so happens to be captured by the nazi's, indy just happens to crash in "India".

besides Lando was a new character, its not like they established Lando in ANH and changed his character in ESB, besides its not here that the shrinkage hurts, its from ROTJ on

The only SE CG parts I like in the film is the Falcon powering up & the sandcrawler.

The rest just stands out and ruins the film for me.

Edit: The GOUT footage of Mos Eisley is poor also, so I can see why George attempted to improve it, but instead made it worse.

If anyone has any ideas how they would like to see it changed, go to:

Only the film was released on CD.

Other scores i am interested in are Kotor 1 and 2, force unleashed 1 and 2.  And the as yet unreleased Old republic scores.

I think some of the Kotor cues have been re-recorded by a full orchestra for the new mmo game OLD Republic.

here is an old vid i did with an old approach

and the Republic Heroes game has music from the series:

Has anyone done a complete score for Attack of the Clones And Revenge of the Sith.  What about a better presentation of phantom menace than the awful 2 disc set put out by sony.

i found some on the internet (i dont now where they are now)
i have a set that was created by a Netherlander (it uses DVD rips with SFX), he's working on fixing the pitch/speed problems (because of PAL?)

Speaking of John Williams has anyone done complete score reconstructions of the 4 indiana jones films ?

Goodmusician did 1 and 2, someone else did an "Extended Score" of 4 and i am working on compiling a Comple Score of 3

have you thought of placing the march on the jedi temple later on in the Order 66 segment?

ROUGH mockup follows:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA42FxnlfwM

Well the final plan is to have the Order 66 segment not be a musical number.

the correct term would be montage.

i always refer to that scene as the "Temple of Doom scene"
because of the scene in temple of doom where Indy goes behind the altar and sees all the children slaving away, (it even happens to have a piece of music by JW that fits [with a little bit of editing] in the Order 66 scene)

i had an interesting idea, i was thinking that it would be interesting if instead of having a crawl perhaps the prequels could have opening credits like the Superman I, II, and Returns, where the crawl text comes up on the screen stationary (like in Returns) and then after that the credits swoosh by like STM with the STAR WARS logo swooshing by after the first two or three credits then the rest of the credits go by with perhaps the throne room music playing underneath, or fan composed music utilizing themes for the PT in place of OT themes (or just use OT themes)

EDIT: the stars would remain stationary as normal though

just something that i would be interested to see

A video would be a waste on my "extensive" collection.  A single picture will do, taken a few moments ago.

2006 DVD of the 1977 theatrical version, in a generic case, with a home-made cover (the original one-sheet).  All other parts of the purchase never made it inside the house.  The day of the purchase back in 2006, they went into the trash can out by the curb.  They are now buried in a landfill somewhere far outside of town - "with the rest of the garbage".

 YOU THREW OUT ESB!!!?!?!?!?!?!?1010101!!
