my favourite line....So Far

Oola and the fat female dancer performs... Lapti Nek is much sleazier and fits the setting better IMO

I hate both songs and the accompanying puppets or CGI characters.  Not to mention there is little need for this scene except establishing a trap door that leads to something scary.  I think it would be best just to see Oola dancing to a much better song briefly, Jabba tries to pull her close, she resists and falls to her death.  However if I'm in the minority here, this of course can stay.

How about something like this?

It is weird how they choose which clips to munch.

Its because they compare your clip with a copy of the film/music you used, that they have, and if there is a match, the take it down/block it.

However there are fixes for this:

Video:
#1 You can flip/mirror the video, and it should go through
#2 You can use the dispute process (though it may end badly)

Audio/Music:
#1 Speed up the audio/music 1 or 3 percent in audacity.
#2 You can use the dispute process (though it may end badly)

Idea & Info: Star Wars Replacement Music Suggestions
Time

Recently I have noticed posts about replacing music in certain scenes in the PT with other/older scores by Williams (and other composers), and alot of replies suggesting scores to use, so I was inspired to create this thread, where we can compile a list of scores that could easily be used. (no recognizable themes etc.)

and without further ado, the "list"

1977: Black Sunday

Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NniX3Ym79RE

1973: Images

Sample (best I could get on short notice): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYppv9Ht64s

1976: Family Plot

Sample (The score was released recently in better quality than in this video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp3HNRVsUXA

1978: The Fury
(This score has 2 releases: The original performance, and a re-arranged version by the London Symphony Orchestra)
Sample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNPidX0NKdk1979: Swing Swing Swing from _1941 (replacement for Jedi Rocks/Lapti Nek

Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-gXtESsm6M

1991: JFK_

^Someone did an amazing music cut of the pod race to a Close Encounters a while back.

The Podrace actually had music written for portions of it: The Race Begins (OST), Lap Three (UE), and Anakin Defeats Sebula (OST)

Here is a rough guestimation of where they would have appeared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp4-lOkEU8Y

Has anyone thought of using John William's Dracula score to accompany Christopher Lee?

Just wondering...

Either way, I don't know if Dracula is the right direction, but going back to the blandness of the AOTC score....did Dooku even have a theme?  I remember Darth Maul's theme.  I remember General Grevious' theme.  Maybe Dooku did....but I sure couldn't remember it to save my life, which is not good.

Did Moff Jerjerrod have a theme? did Tarkin have a theme? Did Belloq have a theme in Raiders?

the closest thing would be the Mystery theme.... (and AOTC's score is not as bland in Williams intended version without loops or tracking.)

Just curious, but what have people thought of in terms of radical music edits? Nobody on earth does a better music score than John Williams, but a lot of the music in the prequels feels very canned and generic because of changes that were made late in the editing process if I remember correctly.  I remember in Magnoliafan's episode 1 he added the swoop chase music in from Shadows of the empire and I thought it worked very well.
One section of Attack of the Clones that I think is in dire need of alternate music is the battle of Geonosis.  The music for the battle in the arena is somewhat questionable.....but not that horrible.  However, I cannot stand the subsequent music for the Clone Rescue and the battle outside.  The music there feels so bleh it almost puts me to sleep.

This is the start of one of the most speculated parts of the back story from the OT.  The Jedi are going to war for crying out loud.  There should be war drums getting pounded, or something suitably heroic to pump the action up.

One thing to think about is that there is music that was not used, so if those pieces were reinstated it could sound much better.

The prequels' influence on pop-culture?

Tobar wrote: you'll sometimes hear the term padawan or Darth Maul mentioned.

Padawan has been heard from C.S.I. to Angel to Venture Bros and other cartoons.  Palpatine is also referenced.  The cartoon, Fanboy and Chum Chum, the janitor's named Poopatine.  A whole episode full of SW references.  The double edge lightsaber and parts of the Maul/QuiGon fight are referenced.  And some positive Jar-Jar references are appearing.  (Big Bang Theory & Simpsons)  Sith is tossed around a bit.  Amidala clothing/appearance from TPM is referenced.

Sith has been around for a while before the prequels though.....

Awesome!

I loved this Temple of Doom soundtrack. It has excerpts I've NEVER heard on the official soundtrack or any other fan made edition! How did you manage this? Did you isolate a music stream on one of the DVDs?

Keep up the good work!

Well, some of the pieces are Mockups made with a synth program of stuff that was not used in the film, and "A Tribute To Vernon" was actually performed by an actual band!, the rest of those pieces most likely came from leaked bootlegs.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)

The blu-ray release is only a part of his master plan to destroy all that is good.

Lucas......will return years later and claim that the movies had never even been made.  He will then...make...6...movies,  The first 3 will be the adventures of the gungan warrior jar-jar and the last 3 will be totally incoherent at best and people will wander from theatres moaning in agony after viewing them.

The "true fans" will rejoice and proclaim them masterpieces and deny that the......20th century saga existed....

I am not a time traveller but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

You should lay off the bratwurst before bed then ;)
