Droids and Ewoks cartoons on DVD?

LOL I bet you're right. I can just imagine GL doing something stupid like going back and doing all the cartoons in the CGI style of the new Clone Wars. "You see, it's all one story."

And (imagine best Lucas impersonation here) "This is how I originally envisioned it, you see the Ewoks no have to contend with the legions of stormtroopers flooding their home planet to pay homage to the shrine of Vader and to tour the many sites of the Death Star II crash sites."

I hope Lucas eventually releases the entire series remastered. I'd love for them do a full on release packed with extras of behind the scenes stuff. The Ewok movies too. What is already released was ok, but it just felt like a rehash of the VHS tapes.

Thing is, Lucas doesn't believe in "restoring" in the sense of how we mean it. To him "restore" would entail the whole series to be amended to reflect the tragedy of Lord Vader and how the Ewoks must now cope with having the burial site of the Sith Lord on their planet.

Your first words of reaction after watching one of the PT movies for the first time.
Time
TPM: "I never thought that damn podrace scene would ever end, other than that and Jar Jar, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Acting sucked."

AOTC: "What the hell!"

ROTS: "Meh, Ewen McGregor was beating on the chest of a long dead patient. He was great, story was okay. I want to find Hayden and make him suffer for what he's done."

You guys are gay

Yeah, after several months of being a regular poster and an avid originaltrilogy.com fan, I will attest to you that Rob is our local flaming like the sun, twink loving, Barbara Streisand listening, rainbow flag waving gay dude. Or could be a seriously elaborate and in depth committed, to the point of obsessiveness, portrayal of a demented troll. Either way you can always bet that no matter what the subject of the thread may be, Rob will chime in a some sort of gay statement. It can be entertaining and funny at times to me.

Rob, what do you think of this?

So that's what happened to San Francisco! They tested this chemical there!

Or perhaps Rob was a carefree heterosexual anyman who was hard-up for cash and saw an ad in the paper from Wright Laboratory which needed a test subject for some experimentation on the effects of a chemical. Shortly after the test, Rob joined OT.com and never looked back, well except only back at another man.

What is the most distressing aspect of the PT?

I'd say how the filmed the two latter films. One thing that always amazed me about Star Wars was that they were able to create imaginative environments in real live places - which is something CGI ruins, as now they can just bluescreen the whole thing. Episode 1 was filmed in actual environments, while 2 & 3 felt like video games.
That is why episode 1 is the best of the prequels. (you can kill me later.)

Agreed on that.

I also disliked the lack of any chemistry between any of the lead characters as we had in the OT. None of the relationships seemed believable to me.

That would be correct in a way. But, for me, it is the fact that I see on a daily basis how money, prestige, notoriety, and simple political clout can et these people anything they want. For me, this shows the mayors kid, the owner of the biggest business in town, the high school football champion that someday they too could find themselves in this position once somebody has had enough of their crap. So, maybe schadenfreude is accurate, but in a poetic sort of way.

Absolutely wonderful series. I have also been watching them on sci-fi with my dvr. One my favs is the one where Charles Bronson & Elizabeth Montgomery are from opposing armies and are stranded together in a deserted town. Elizabeth Montgomery was just so hot in that episode, and the whole episode sure makes you think.

I am an avid Laserdisc collector and would be grateful if any of yourselves on this site, who are still into the laserdisc, software and Hardware would get in touch, as i look forward to hearing from you all.

So... Broomo/Zigfried whatever you call yourself these days, what kind of laserdisc software do you have?

Sorry friend what do you mean by 'whatever you call yourself these days'

Where do i start with answering your question?

I started purchasing Laserdisc's in March 1998 97% of my collection are from the USA.
3% are PAL (but most PALS are not that good.)

From 1999 to present day i have been purchasing many titles from Japan and i must admit i do prefer these (the cover art and quality covers faultless.

By the end of this year i should have completed the purchase of most title i am looking for

Currently have reserved in Japan with one seller aprox: 45 titles and aprox: 8 titles with another.

I did not realise how attached i would be to the format, but i am glad i did.

I love changing the disc's, the sound of the players and so on.
The only drawback about this format is the cost of the disc's and player's, but i guess that's the price you pay for being different.

Shall be purchasing a Brand new Pioneer ELITE CLD 97 in August, from a seller in the USA which will take about four payments.

In July i will be purchasing an HLD X9 from a seller (friend) in the uk which will also take about five payments.

Finally i shall be purchasing a Pioneer HLD X0 in 2008 from one of the sellers in Japan who will have the player fully serviced before shipment.

All this has been a labour of love for me and also a struggle, but i shall eventually get there.

How about things with yourself and how is life with you.

Kindest and sincere regards

So, do you also have the Star Wars definitive collection LD box set with the hardcover book?

I really want that, I've been looking on Ebay for about two months each time almost buying one, but never diving in.
