Heath Ledger dead at 28

heath ledger was an actor, these people have to remember brokeback mountain was fiction.

he wanted to do it to prove his range as an actor, he was definetely not gay in real life, he had a wife until he was divorced, and a daughter.

whether his split and being away from his child had anything to do with the sleep pill overdose we will probably never know.

not all christians are like this, after all heath was a human being and the bible says we are all created in god's image, he had a family and was someones child once.

we have no idea what his relationship with god was and i will not speculate. god is the judge of our actions in the life anyone who tries to judge heath shall also be judged by their own deeds.

i have to ask christians who live in condemnation if they are even saved individuals, there is now no condemnation in christ jesus.

they should live in a spirit of thankfulness and grace, that if what the lords blood was shed for and to do away with sin.

the state of hetero marriage was in trouble long before gay rights became a hot button issue in the u.s.a. people should spend their time teaching their children and being better husbands and wives than wasting their time on this.

Very well said. I could not agree more.

Anyhow, I heard about this and it ought to be outlawed. It is ridiculous.

Why is it ridiculous? I don't like it either, but it's no different from what the hosting companies do right now. You don't get free, unlimited bandwidth on a webhost. You pay for a certain amount each month and if you go over, you're billed for it.

I'm betting this won't last long anyway. With Verizon rolling out FiOS and Wireless ISPs becoming more prevalent, people will just switch to something that has no limits. Once they do that, TW will just remove the tiered packaging.

As the article says, at least they're being fully open about what they're doing and offering different packages. A lot of ISPs simply cap the bandwidth and don't tell you where the cap is at. You pretty much have to figure it out yourself based on when they slow you down.

Well, if you pay to get the internet, you ought to get the internet. I guess its from years of having unlimited internet, but I just can't fathom having a limit set on my downloading ability. I agree I don't this will last, especially once all the major studios and music companies start greasing hands because they do want folks to download their stuff and if it starts getting capped, they could stand to lose some money.

Actually, I'm betting that at least the movie studios will love this, especially if they end up getting a cut. Not only will you be limited in what you can download now, but you'll have to pay more if you want to go over that limit. Music wouldn't have much of an effect on your total bandwidth since most of the files are pretty small. But a season of the Sopranos (HBO just introduced web downloads of their tv shows) would cost you quite a bit of bandwidth. With this in place, people won't be able to just download gobs and gobs of TV shows and movies without paying someone for it somewhere.

Yeah, but with Microsoft pushing the HD downloads on the Xbox and Amazon really starting to focus on the Unboxed Video service they have, along with Apple's itunes movie service, it would only seem to me that they could stand to lose since folks would be limited on what they could download.

It's a damn shame about Heath though. He was about to hit the big time with The Dark Knight, and really get his career going full steam. RIP.

But I think this will be a good last film; he looks like the perfect choice for the Joker, based on the trailers.

Yeah, I concur, this is a very good movie to do last in your life. Much better than Raul Julia doing Streetfighter last in his life, that movie really blew, and Raul Julia was much better than that.

If that was the case, I guess they could re-film a sequence where he dies instead.

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?

I dunno, Blu-Ray seems to be having tons of issues with the fact they are a uncomplete format. BD 1.1 and 2.0 and all that jive. I do know that the main feature will play irregardless of player, but if you want to see those great bonus features that require 20 more gigs of space, then you should hold out for a 2.0 player.*

*Now I await to be jumped on by Sony fanboys.

Video Games - a general discussion thread

Yeah, I've actually seen entire walkthroughs for games on YouTube before, divided up into about 80 or 90 different videos. Of course, it's not really telling you what to do... you just see someone else do it. But that can be much more helpful sometimes than just reading about it. I can't tell you how many times I've read dozens of strategy guides in both print and online to do some super secret obscure sidequest and having no idea what they were talking about because it just wasn't described as well as it needed to be. Being able to see it really does help, although if you consider strategy guides to be cheating, this is probably on an even more advanced level of cheating.

Oh, and thanks for the pic, sean. I haven't played Pokemon since Yellow, so all these new ones escape me.

I hardly read walkthrough guides anymore, youtube pretty much saves my day and any help I need gamewise.

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?

This will apparently force people who have already created their own BD movies from Camcorder footage or MPEG transport streams (from digital TV) may have to spend a lot of money copying discs to new media, or simply lose the abillity to play it."

What? Does this mean if I don't put some sort of copy protection on my home videos that they won't play? As soon as the price becomes reasonable (and it will be sooner than later now with the Warner decision), I had planned on burning my standard definition camcorder videos to a blu-ray disc because I'll be able to fit so much more on a disc and not worry about compressing it. I don't care about whatever copy protection there is for commercial movies, I just want to burn my own discs. Oh and if I ever was to legally purchase a blu-ray disc, I would expect it to play.

Also, where is some good information on the region coding for the new players? I know HD doesn't have it and Blu-ray has 3 but are they also set to restrict the current dvd regions.

Welcome to the Blu-Ray revolution, (sorry guys, I'm a Sony hater, I just couldn't stop myself).

Nanner, I don't know what kind of music you normally like, but you ought to give James Hand a try, he's true country, but his live shows really have a great rockabilly thump. Not psychobilly though.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I loaded up my mp3 player with some Roy D. Mercer clips (some of the funniest prank phone calls you will ever hear, I am sure I am not the only one here who has heard of him) and lay awake in bed listening to them. Brought back memories of my young teen years when me and my friends use to crack up over those things. When I came to the pet hamster one I started laughing so hard I had to run out of the room so as not to wake up my wife.

Since prank phone calls aren't music, I will add that I have also been listening to Warren Zevon's album Life'll Kill Ya a lot lately for some reason.

Yeah, those Roy D. Mercer call or priceless. I've gotten into Tom Mabe, I love the one where he convinces that telemarketer that he called a crime scene, just funny as hell.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Thread

Yeah, I'll give it another chance. I really like the first two Terminator movies. I just can't help seeing this for what it is, a cheap cash in on the franchise, and I would rather have had Terminator not have been reduced to that. But T3 already knocked the whole series down a few notches anyway. I know they are trying to appeal to guys with a very young Sarah Connor, but she hardly even looks old enought to be John's mom. I suppose after a couple of episode I could get over that though. Kind of disappointing that we didn't get an opening scene with Summer Glau time traveling naked then walking into a biker bar and demanding somebody give her their clothes.

Yeah, I ain't happy with the actress they chose for Sarah Connor either, she don't even come close to Linda Hamilton. But, hey, back in Shakespeare's day men played the women's parts, so I guess I can let it go as our ancestors did. You want Summer Glau walking around naked, then you HAVE to watch the second episode, you will get your wish I believe, but then maybe you won't, who knows.
