So, since there's a good version of the original soundtrack, any chance for someone to edit the color to the new blu-ray and bring the picture back to its original timing?

I am redoing the audio because I have learned a lot since my first attempt, this new software and method will make this sound way, way better, hell I re did the Conan audio and it was a huge difference! so yes there will be an all new PCM track and we are going to re do the color timing on the new remastered BD as well as T2, so stay tuned.

Thanks for all the interest guys!

I just could not get the audio to sync at all with the UK one, it would drift

A bit of a side project here, but hopefully an interesting one!

It appears that the theatrical 5.1 mix for Terminator 2 was briefly available on the first issue R1 DVD (which wasn't around long before the marvellous special edition came along). See the second post here (from the very knowledgeable Disclord): http://forum.lddb.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1409

Since I was assembling a disc that included the theatrical cut of the film, I thought I'd look at syncing that mix to BD video. This involved using Womble, a rather blunt tool for such a job, but it meant that I could nip'n'tuck the track without reencoding. The result is a 5.1 AC-3 which matches the theatrical cut as found on the Skynet BD - not the greatest source for video, but by far the most common source for that cut.

I haven't studied the track for all of its differences with the later Rydstrom mix, but it certainly has a different feel. PM me if you'd like to try it out.

I managed to get the last LD I needed and the Dvd is in the post, I will check them all for the original T2 track and open a new thread

No need for that ..... but thanks, I think.  LOL

Anyways, I got both of the Alien DTS disc sets and I'm going to get them decoded.  The next step would be to get them sorted for use in a sync project and I am NOT the expert at doing that.  Maybe someone would like to offer assistance on this ..... it would help greatly.

Was watching Blackadder and it stuck in my head lol

Anyone have the True Lies D-VHS/LD/Cinema DTS track?

Anyone have Alien Resurrection?

I will try and see what I come up with.

:)

Thanks! my first DTS cinema experience and no version on home video has come close

I will have this soundtrack on my HD by the weekend.  I will also have theatrical DTS for the Alien Reissue as well.

Anyone know for sure if Aliens & Alien 3 had theatrical DTS?

I love you and want to have your babies!

There is more detail in the BD is it not worth sorting out the contrast on that?

I think it is.  I had the old HDTV version years ago, and it looked like the DVD master i.e. poor.  Despite the contrast issue, I'd far rather watch the Blu-ray, so I hope there's a way of sorting out the contrast and the blown-out whites.

I may look at that then I have GBII MPEG 1080i that it would match to nicely
