rotj sucks now because of the PT?
Time
By the way, to me, the definition of a real mother is someone who was present to provide anything a mother should provide. Anyways, Anyone can have a theory, in the end, the Luke and Leia scene is totally fine by me. To each his own.

Just by personal experience, I have known adopted kids, like I posted earlier, they considered their true ( or real) parents those who raised them, because they provided 'real' presence, and when they met their bioligical parents later in their life, it is an acquaintance, if it is good reunion, then they are glad they have met them, if the reunion is bad, then they disowned them, they don't want to do anything with them.
Anyways, maybe it is repetitive.

Just to post again, the endor scene has emotionnal impact in my book. but then again to each his own.

Ok, maybe I will be blasted by posting this.

The thing about Leia remembering her mother, I don't have anything wrong with it, you know why? Because she may be talking about her adopted mother, not her bioligical one, lots of adopted kids , when they talked about their parents, they don't talk about their bioligical ones, they refer their adopted ones because it is them (adopted parents) who raised them (adopted kids). So when Luke ask Leia if she remembers about her mother, he does not specify if it is her bilogical or her adopted mother. To me, Leia is talking about her adopted mother, and that scene is totally right to me. I don't know why fans are so confused about it. That rotj scene works totally with me.

Help Wanted: Requesting a big favour from a French speaker

Hi Yoda is Your Father,

The Translator tool you suggested is not credible at all. It translates word for word the text and does not take consideration of the context. Because when it comes to translation, a translator has to be creative.

I read Edgar Allan Poe both in english and french, and believe me there is big difference. It is Beaudelaire who did the french translation for Poe's work, he did an awesome job but... it is very different, the meaning and all, but still great nonetheless

Just to go back on the translator topic, I tried the translator tool, I laughed my brains out when I saw the results. But I am pretty sure it is good tool to translate words but not to translate a full text.

Hi Moth3R, I will do my best. I speak both languages but when it comes to translation it is another story.

Here is my stab to translate what I see on that auction:

In the middle of the article.

dolby Stereo is only available in English, not in French for A New Hope

Now, the bottom left of the scan:
For Star Wars
Images: The image quality is uneven (or invariable) with nice sequences and there are grainy scenes (deserts) . According to the critics, he says the colors are great but it could have been more present ( I don't know what it means by that, however there could be a better translation for that). The image is well defined in general and well presented. It mentions that there are stars added in the black bars, I don't know if that makes sense. For the time , it says that version was better than the previous one. The sound is excellent but it is in stereo not dolby stereo only for Star Wars though

For Empire Strikes Back
Images: It says it is a good master copy with precise images. There are drops here and there of certain close-ups or zooms. To mention that indoor scenes are playing smoothly (???) but the snowy scenes are grainy.

Sound: great sound. It is dynamic. It is Dolby Surround for Empire Strikes Back

For Return of the Jedi:
Images: Very Good definition but sometimes there are drops. The colors are very nice However, there is a great cut not welcome at the end of the first side of the disc, I don't know what he (the critic) means by that.

as for sound: Very Clear, well defined Nice Dymanic, Dolby Surround.

that is the best I could do for now, I am not a master translater. I think you got most of it the first time.

BSG
Time
For some reason, I never got into the new BSG series, maybe because I grew up with the old series, I could not adjust to the changes the new series made. however the writing and the acting is excellent, the special effects are good as well. If that series was not called Battlestar Galactica, I might have been able to follow it. The old series was very joyful (it was entertaining) and the new series is very dramatic (it is like a good drama, I am not thinking about scifi when it comes to the new series). I guess it is the nostalgia effect, I don't know how to explain it. I did not watch the second season yet, yeah I know, the 1rst season had a good cliffhanger, I guess I may be able to follow it at some point. Like I said the new series has good writing, I should say excellent, but I don't get into it , am I the only one?

I don't mean to crash a party, just saying my 2 cents.

Please don't shoot me.

I just read a few posts back I found , they are some like me lol. Sorry if this post is redundant.

Any GOOD memories of the PT?

Good Memories of the Prequel Trilogy?

Indeed, I agree that the trailer was a good start, those images were an incentive to make me want to watch TPM. Could not stop to watch that trailer over and over again. I liked the movie when it came out. It was early morning when I saw it, could not make it for the midnight show. And I enjoy it, of course it is not the original trilogy but what can I say? when it comes to Star Wars, I am not able to be a critic, I let myself be that kid when he saw Empire strikes Back for the first time in a drive at the age of 6 ( Yes, Empire was my first Star Wars movie, weirldy enough, I saw Star Wars (aka New Hope) after a few months I saw Empire. Just to go back to the TPM, The Pod Race and The final duel blew me away.

As for AOTC, the trailer with the Vader breathing blew me away, I was anticipating a lot, I have to admit that the final duel with Yoda and Dooku saved the movie for me. That was my best memory.

ROTS, my girlfriend won tickets for the advenced screening for me, that alone was special, I enjoyed the ROTS a lot, The 2 duels at the end, the space battles, it was all great, of course I let the bad dialog slip I think it is my third favorite star wars movie after Empire and Star Wars. I think I saw it 4 times that same week. I saw it 2 or 3 times on dvd.

Of course it will never beat the original trilogy experience when I grew up ( a good memory I have from the OT is the REVENGE OF THE JEDI teaser lol)

Info Wanted: Your Favorite OT Preservation Project And Why?
Time
So many choices, it is a very tough decision to make.

When it comes to documentaries, my Favorite OT Preservation Project is Deleted Magic because of the way they show how the film could have been and then again, the filmmaking lesson.

My favorite Episode 4 preservation dvd is Editdroid, like TheCassidy and DarthAstuart wrote, it is as if it was an original release, the bells and whistles that comes with it, and also the crawl not showing episode 4 A New Hope felt as if it was 1977. It did a great effect on me.

When it comes to episode 5 and 6, I have to go with the ISOMIX set, call me weird if you want, the reason why my vote goes to ISOMIX for episode 5 and 6, it is because when we put the isolated score on , we have the possibility to put the subtitle on and it gives me the impression that I am watching a silent movie, the EDITDROID set would be perfect if we had that option on, because with the Editdroid set, we only have the possibility to put either the score on , or the movie, so ISOMIX is earning more points in my book because of that possibility.

When it comes to video/audio quality I have to go with the moth3r set, it is almost perfection.

I am looking forward to the Project X0 set, I have seen the prototype, the prototype is great, I can't wait to see the final project.
