"The Clones Revealed" (Released)

Thanks Ell.

On the subject of extra scenes, here's what I've been working on today-

'Jedi Archives' - Inserted some pre-production sketches of the archives themselves, as well as close up images of the various bronze busts. There's an extension to the beginning of the scene, featuring dialogue between OB and Jocasta Nu taken from the DH comic. I've also included a SW galaxy map when OB is looking for the system, it's one of the most professional maps I could find with Google research, but strangely enough (and this is true of all the maps I've checked out), Kamino is the other side of the galaxy compared with the area OB points at on the computer screen. No wonder he coudln't find it

'Travelling To Naboo' - I've used a mixture of comic panels, Select shots and other video to extend the exchange between R2 and the server droid.

'Kamino' - This is where I'm at right now. I'm gathering various sketches and art work for OB's flight down to the planet. If anyone has anything to offer, please do let me know.

***//BUILDING EMPIRE\\: PAL & NTSC DVD - NEW EDITION NOW ONLINE! ***
Time
Hi all,

and a big heads up to JD. Watched this the other day (courtesy of meerdewow, cheers), sorry its taken me so long to chime in. For someone like me who's been around as long as SW, and as all the makings of, and more recently (thanks to this site and myspleen) all sorts of other trivia and SW-related programmes, its still amazing when a piece like this comes along and shows you something you hadn't seen before.

This is why I work on my ...'Revealed' projects. I mean, how many times can you get excited about another transfer, or the Super Ulitmate Edition v13.9 of a film you've seen a hundred times already? So movies like this are a breath of freash air. Very professionally done and presented. 10 out of 10.

On a side note, for those who picked up on the fact the the full size Falcon model was built in the tiny town of Pembroke Dock, Wales...well, that's where I live, and up until 9 months ago lived only a stones throw from that very site

Hi all,

Well, I did say I was going to be active in this thread more often to try and drum up some interest, and then keep forgetting!

As Ive mentioned, I'm using various panels of the DH comic adaption. With these, and other materials (production photos, etc), I've actually managed to include several scenes that were deleted or not even filmed for the final movie. These include a conversation between Yoda and Mace (set after the early meeting in Palp's office) and Obi-Wan vs the Mastiff, which slots right in before OB's entrance to the geonosian spire. In this example, the music fits the art quite well, and overall I think its a funky little segment.

A little side-tracked at the moment going through each page of The Art of AOTC, grabbing sketches and art work and such to use. Quite time consuming, but with what Ive got in mind, I reckon it'll be worth it. However, it does mean going over everything I've done (yet again) to insert these shots in.

So where am I now? Video-wise, I'm about to tackle OB spying on the Seps. I've done some major tinkering with the Lars homestead with the footage from 365 Days and the SE VCD, giving a nice over view of the homestead in real life and how the top and bottom actually look, and some great shots of the kitchen from design to building.

Just watched Building Empire today (what a great piece of work) and did toy with the idea of using some commentary as JD has done, but I think I'll be sticking with isuals only...I really don't want to have to sift through all those resources again listeing for soundbites.

As always, questions, thoughts, suggestions or flames are more than welcome

Info Wanted: New Segments on the Sci-Fi Channel - UK TV
Time

Hi all,

I meant to post a thread about this the other week when I saw one of these…

It is 23.45 in the UK. Just been working on The Clones Revealed with Sci-Fi channel on in the background (Evil Dead II was on), and heard lightsabers, so had a quick look, only to cacth the last minute of some guys talking about the digital yoda, with the bronze statue from the jedi archives on his desk. I also caught the tail end of one of these segments a few weeks ago, with (new, I’m pretty sure) interviews with stuntment, warwick davis and kenny baker, talking about their memories of the films.

Unfortunatly, these don’t appear on the Sky listings so there’s no way to know they’re on. Also, since I’ve never caught the beginning I don’t even know what they’re called.

Does anyone know any more?

Hi all,

Thought I'd just chime in and let everyone know how things are going on this project. Also, Ive seen how every one else keeps people interested in their projects by posting regular updates...so for those who are interested....

Firstly, a bit about the name. In case anyone was wondering about 'The Scrapbook' attached to the title. While I did think about leaving it as 'The Sith/Clones Revealed', I feel calling it a scrapbook sums up the essence of the movie in one simple word. That's essentially what these movies are...scrapbooks. The BTS footage has just been inserted, or slapped on, over the video and audio track in the relevant places (although obviously it's more complicated than that, or it wouldn't take me so damn long). In the end, what you have is a video scrapbook of the making of the film. Plus, y'know, I think it sounds kind of snappy.

The film itself...here's where I'm at. I'm partway through my 2nd run through of the entire movie, scene by scene. First time round, I get everything in there, where I want it, tweaking up the insertion of each clip to as 'finished' as it can be. Second time round, I've not only had new material to sift through, I've had access to the soundtracks, which has given me a lot more flexibility to add extra time to scenes, where I've needed it. At the moment, I'm up to Watto's scene, going through the film slowly.

Here's a brief breakdown of how the film looks...

Opening scene/ landing plaform...starships approach trimmed where possible to shed dead time. Some short clips of Natalie, in costume, on soundstage.

Palpatine's Office...this scenes a bit sloppy I'm afraid. Very little coherance between the shots I have (Samuel, full costume (BTW most shots are full costume so I'll stop mentioning that) walking on to set, Kit in make up, one shot of behind camera on Palpatine). I've tried to add to this with a couple of production shots and comic panels.

09:37...After Fett handing the slugs to Zam, the comic has a page of dialogue between Yoda and Mace regarding Anakin. I've included these panels, with a suitably 'brooding Jedi Masters' music cue from the soundtrack.

The Chase...Here's where gets good so I'll break this one down even more...
Anakin and OB burst into room.
Nick Gillard describes jump, stuntman goes through (against greenscreen), stuntman comes out onto crash mat (3 shots).
OB starts running, greenscreen performance takes over, final greenscreen jump, animatic jump out onto droid, pre-viz story mode. following shot- Anakin against GS running, from the bloopers
OB/Droid sliding comparison shot, plays next 2 shots til...
Animatic/final shot sliding comparison of droid slamming OB's hand into the wall
Anakin's run to speeder, normal into bluescreen performance, as normal til...
Back to OB- various shots of OB hanging from droid against bluescreen, pre-viz and animatics.
Jedi Poodoo - Shot of George and Ben Burtt in editing suite, watching scene.
Anakin, bluescreen close up.
Zam - 2 pre-viz shots, of different actress, in costume mock up
OB falling - animatic, bluescreen, stoaryboard, with bluescreen/animatic/final sliding comparison shot of the catch.

I could go on, but I'd rather spend half hour before bed working on it.

Hopefully this will be a start to clue people in and generate some interest, because not only do I love it, but I think (hope) people will find it an interesting and fun watch.

Wow, awesome disc FF. Really enjoyed it, good work all round.

I was wondering if it might be possible for yourself, or someone else with the time, interest and capability, to knock up an inksaver version of the awesome cover, or even just the logo on a white background.

Thanks again for this fantastic contribution to the trading community

Haha, he's only put that on there cos I (tongue-in-cheek) badgered him for not including it on the original poll. Doubt he#d ever heard of it before to be honest

Hi all,

Right, I've hit a major stumbling block. I'm trying to do the Yoda/Dooku fight, and I've got a lot of footage of a cutscene with Dooku using two lightsabers, and was hoping to use music from the OST to strech the scene out to meet my requirements. However, I can't seem to find the track used for this fight. Does anyone know what that particular track is called? It's basically from the first time the two clash sabers to the last time
