Song Of The South - many projects, much info & discussion thread (Released)

Second disc taking longer than expected, I compile the disc, and then when I play it back on PowerDVD, it comes up black, then it plays back the menus like still images with random audio playing through.

I might just start the disc from scratch at this point, otherwise it would have been uploaded already.

Good luck!!!!!

I think the important question is, what was the source for the subtitles?

I think they're most likely from something PAL.
If so they need to be retimed from 25 fps to 23.976 fps or you can't sync them with an offset.

There's software that quickly and easily does that if it is the case.

Outta curiosity what is the software you speak of!!!

I'd like to point out, there is an issue with the subtitles, that would have taken me a really long time to fix. They are correct, but off by a couple of seconds.

Just randomly checking around, the subtitles look a lot more messed up than a few seconds off.

Maybe we, as a comminity, should offer to help JeyO out in correcting the problem/issue.

After catching up with this thread, I've decided to that I'm gonna release what I have (which is disc one, disc two is incomplete). Im currently compiling a disc now, and hope to seed it within the next two days. If someone can pass along where I can do such a thing please let me know.

Hopefully I can quickly knock out disc two, unless I completely cut out all the audio track features which is the only thing missing if I am remembering correctly.

Can Hardly Wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope you upload it via a public torrent site or via something like MediaFire ( a little info on MediaFire here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mediafire )

Info: What is your dream fan edit if you could get the rare footage?

For me it would be "The Last Man on Earth"

(which IMHO is the best film adaption of the novel "I am Legend", which is why I want a longer cut)

Also, I would love to see a longer cut of the whole "Back to the Future" Trilogy

Lastly, and I know this is likely to bring on some-sort-a "Flame Wars,” I’m still going to say it:
The Film “GoodBurger”

(I would really love to see that Good Shake scene/line from the trailer inserted back into the movie. As well as any-other delete ED-tastic Moments of customer “Mistreatment” and other just plain silly scenes that may have given the movie a PG13 rating instead of the PG rating that it received)

Any updates on this project. I would be willing to help find some materials that could be used as supplement/bonus material or help design a "new" DVD cover for the project

what do you all think

P.S. i had an idea for a/the dvd cover: one based on the Mario 3 NES cover (since the main reason the movie was made was to promote Mario 3's release)

Tips for "dvd(-video) editing" From the Rifftrax Forum
Time
First of all, have you all heard of/about The RiffTrax Service. (RiffTrax are downloadable audio commentaries featuring comedian Michael J. Nelson heckling (or riffing) films in the style of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The RiffTrax are sold on a web site where users can purchase and download the commentaries. The site was launched by Nelson and Legend Films in 2006 and is based in San Diego.)

If not then you can find more info here:
http://rifftrax.com/

and here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RiffTrax

here are some threads over at RiffTrax RoundTable ( The Official RiffTrax forum) that pertain to video editing, that I thought you might find useful.

UNOFFICIAL Rifftrax DVD Creating Step-by-Step Guide (Now With Rifftrax Lite):
http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,413.0.html

the above thread I am linked to, among other things, mentions and explains how to use a "little" tool called delaycut, - A neccesary little tool that fixes your audio file after it is ran through DVD decrypter, that seems like it might help people having problems with video/audio syncing when using ADigitalMan's Guide to MPEG2/AC3 Editing.

Star Wars Holiday Special Reauthoring Guide:
http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,6340.0.html

Tip for SWHS re-author:
http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,6448.0.html

The above two threads are geared towards syncing the Star Wars Holiday "Special" with its Rifftrax (http://shop.rifftrax.com/rifftrax/star-wars-holiday-special), but they still seemed useful for general video editing.

Help: looking for... Star Wars definitive bonus/supplement collection
Time

First let me say I am a n00b at the “fan preservation game”. Also, I am more or less a n00b to these forums and I apologize in advance if this thread violates the rules of the “Original Trilogy” forum.

I am looking to acquire as much of the following “releases” as I can and create a comprehensive DVD set/“definitive DVD collection” of Star Wars " bonus " material

Would anyone to able to provide me have anything from the following threads/collections:

  • Ocpmovie’s Star Wars: Deleted Magic
  • Jambe Davdar’s BUILDING EMPIRE
  • Jambe Davdar’s RETURNING TO JEDI
  • The RowMan “Star Wars” Releases
  • The Official babyhum Release Thread
  • The Official ANGRYSVN STAR WARS Release Thread
  • Ocpmovie’s Special Edition Hype
  • Ocpmovie’s Return of the Ewok and Other Little Films
  • Preserving the…cringe…Star Wars Holiday Special
  • MoveAlong’s The Story of Star Wars
  • MoveAlong’s The Story of TESB
<span class=“Bold”>Any other material that would be helpful</span>

Before I (can) do this I am asking for the permission from the community at large and in particular <span class=“Bold”>Ocpmovie</span>, <span class=“Bold”>Jambe Davdar</span>, <span class=“Bold”>The RowMan</span>, <span class=“Bold”>babyhum</span>, <span class=“Bold”>Rikter</span>, <span class=“Bold”>MoveAlong</span>, and any one else I have forgotten to mention’s permission to use their material.
I plan to accomplish this by combing/going through the material, using the best quality source from the redundant/duplicate material. Creating new with the material and using a streamlined, very similar menu structure from disc to disc. If anyone could/would help me out in any way possible that would be great.

Thanks in advance for the community help and time in the matter,

-DT
