Luke’s training was arguably the best part of ESB.

No.

For me it easily is. My favorite scene in Star Wars is the entire sequence (beginning to end) of Yoda explaining the force, Luke doubts it, Yoda lifts the X-Wing, “I don’t believe it!” “That is why you fail”.

Favorite scene from my favorite movie of all time. The music, the scenery, the dialogue, the acting, the execution. It’s a wondereous showcase of the force, far superior to any midiclohrian crap.

The first 1/3 of the movie should be centered around Rey and Kylo’s training

I hope not. This would be boring as hell and already seen, with a “Rocky 4” vibe that would be ridiculous. EpVIII should be centered around new stuff. LFL is aware of the main criticism against TFA, I highly doubt they are going for another rehash movie.

Well for one it would be boring depending on how the training plays out. Though slower in pace than what was going on with the rest of the trio trying to stay one step ahead of The Empire Luke’s training was arguably the best part of ESB. Secondly, someone being trained in the ways of The Dark Side is new. And lastly people being trained isn’t a rehash of anything because training in of itself is a common plot point not only films but stories in general.

I would really like to see Rey and Poe together while Rey and Finn have a sibling sort of relationship. But I’m still down for a Poe/Finn bromance. I know people might freak out about this idea (“rehash blah blah UGH!”) but I’d like to see Rey/Luke most of the movie together with the rest of the team going their seperate ways (Poe+Finn Together) but instead of an early battle (ESB, Walker Assault), the finale of the second act could be a space battle.

Buy used, throw away everything except the so-called Original Trilogy discs, glue those three together (shiny side in), run a string through them, and suspend them inside a wall cavity, or even a hollow tree in the yard. You can pull them out if you ever need to prove ownership, but there will be no risk of an unsuspecting houseguest or innocent child accidentally being exposed to the films on them.

At least that’s what I did.

This! LOL

Only assholes think it’s ok to use retard as an insult.

I completely agree. I did not use it as an insult.

I’ll play your ridiculous game even though I already know the answer. How was it not an insult?

JEDIT: Fuck it, you’re just a troll and you’ve already gotten what you want. Respond however you like, you’re still an asshole, you’ll never stop being an asshole, and I’m not going to respond to any of your subsequent posts on this topic.

Even though Frink usually pisses me off he’s right. My cousin is mentally disabled and I have come to realize that using the word “retard” as an insult can be very offensive to myself and others who have a close family member who is mentally disabled. I hate to see her used as an example to insult others who aren’t mentally disabled. That’s really what makes it hurt… It’s not that they’re directly insulting her but it’s that they’re degrading her to degrade others. It’s just a rude awful way of insulting someone. There’s a vast amount of other ophtions that don’t degrade people like my cousin (dick, jerk, asshole, etc.).

I want Infinity War to start with Tony Stark and Vision walking along a street, discussing something (don’t care what, maybe something about the Infinity Stones), before Thanos abruptly lands in the middle of the street, quickly ripping off the Stone from Visions head, which fills the screen with blood that trickles down to reveal the Avengers: Infinity War logo with the Ash vs. Evil Dead theme tune playing. If that happened, the movie would be an easy ten out of ten. But it won’t, because Marvel has no balls.

Or cause they’re smart and remember what movie they’re making.

It seems as though Rey will go through some type of emotional and/or physical trauma in Episode VIII based on this interview.

Hopefully it’s both as it would make for nice character building but I hope they do something new if they’re going to physically injure her. Preferably something like her getting stabbed as that hasn’t happened to the other main protagonists yet.

EDIT:

When I say main protagonists I mean Luke and Anakin.

Really good news. Last question of the interview about love makes it clear that Finn and Rey’s friendship holds steadfast throughout ep. 8.

SPOILERS:

I think the reveal that Bane loved Talia did add to his character a lot. It made you sympathize with him a little more but he still remains a bad ass.

what are your feelings on Bruce being alive at the end?

For me it brings tears to my eyes. It’s so fucking beatiful and then it shows right after Blake discovering the cave. This leaves with you 2 last moments to ponder on:

-Bruce has finally moved on and Alfred feels fulfilled in his protection of Bruce (hella feels man)
-And Finally after learning that Bruce Wayne has moved on we learn that the Batman lives on. As his master once said “A Legend Mr.Wayne”.

I know some feel TDK trilogy is pretty average but I really think it’s an absolutely brilliant batman trilogy that far exceeds anything Burton could accomplish.

And I also think that they developed Selina Kyle and Bruce’s relationship relatively well.

And can we all agree another great scene in TDKR is the climb out of the pit. So much symbolism (“Why do we fall Bruce?”, “RISE”), so much power, so much emotion. It really makes you feel as if Batman has truly risen again 😃

The Dark Knight Rises

Grade: B

Like Return of the Jedi I think this was not as good as the first two in its trilogy but still a satisfying conclusion. I have a lot of quibbles like “why did he sleep with Miranda Tate?” And “how did Blake figure that out? Cause Bruce gave him some look, wtf!?!”

But the overriding Rocky 3-Esque storyline is what sold the movie for me. The bat is broken and he must rise again. That arc is satisfying and developed IMO. And Michael Caine did an outstanding job yet again as Alfred. The ending montage is just golden. I do really enjoy TDKR unlike many but do admit it has issues that prevent it from being the masterpiece some Nolan fanboys make it out to be.

I’ve since flip flopped on inserting deleted scenes, the Falcon one specifically. I actually like how it distances Kylo from Han. Each time he calls him “Han Solo” It implies a closeness, but also a third party familiarity which serves the purpose of this particular edit. Here’s the draft of the deleted scene reinstated.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Original Trilogy Fan!

I actually really dig what you did here. Great work. It quite seamlessly fits in.

Can one of the moderators move this to the fan edit subforum? I’m really hoping someone with the time and know-how can get an edit out with the shadow added in, preferably a BD with seemless branching so I can watch the original version of the scene too.

Jabba only shows up in Jedi. What the hell are you talking about!?! Jabba in ANH would ruin his eventual reveal. And they would have to do it with CGI which could be a bad idea.

I’m a bit sick of people calling Rey a master lightsaber duelist or saying she mastered the Force in TFA. Until she does something like pick up an X-Wing, destroys the Rakatan Temple with a Force Wave, summons Dark Side tendril, and defeats a healthy top tier Force wielder I don’t want to hear anything about Rey mastering anything.

This*** though I do think her choreography was pretty weak compared to Rens. Adam Driver looked awesome when he fought. Rey’s choreography consisted mostly of pathetic stabs. I hope that once she gets trained by Luke she has some type of warmup fight in ep.8 where she actually has cool fighting choreography but then when she fights Ren I want him fully trained, fully in tune with the dark side. It’d be nice to see her get an ass whooping by a healthy and improved Kylo Ren that hasn’t just come out of a emotionally traumatic event.

Sing Street

Grade: A-

Such a good time watching this flick. Really hit me in the feels along with some good tunes. It was just very real to me and captured some serious raw emotion between the two brothers.

If anyone else has seen this what are your thoughts?

I really want to see that, but no theaters near me are playing it.

Me neither but it’s now avaible on Blu Ray, DVD and Digital 😃 I highly recommend it.
