The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

I finally got around to watching this, and as far as fan edits go, I dig it!

Wasn’t nearly as put off by the added voices as the thread perhaps keyed me up to be. I could take or leave the KoR, but I majorly enjoyed the Exegol additions, which really seemed to be the secret ingredient in making the fleet arrival finally “click” for me personally.

Most of the fundamental issues I have with TROS still remain, but I nevertheless appreciate Hal’s efforts to smooth out the film’s many rough edges (and slow down the overall pace, which was desperately needed).

Finally, changing Leia’s saber to purple was an inspired change and makes Sheevy’s ultimate fate all the more poetic if you think about it.

After digesting this for a day or so, I’ve realized that my favorite overall change is the slight color correction to the running lights on the Star Destroyers, making them stick out a bit more against the gunmetal grey. Adds a surprising amount of depth to the physical models.

Just dropping by to post this fan trailer I made for Revisited: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIYWrWVVIk8

I based the editing style off of the first teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode 2. If there's anything that Lucasfilm does right 100 percent of the time, it's their trailers.

Idea: Star Wars - Fan Trailers

Well, here's a little teaser trailer for Empire Strikes Back.

I made it for Adywan's Revisited, but upon review after finishing it, I realized that it functioned a lot better as a teaser for the original film.

As for editing styles, I guess I tend to put a focus on the musical aspects, usually the cuts between shots are dictated by whatever piece of music I use.

Well, in one ending, you kill the Emperor and Vader and become the leader of the Empire if I'm not mistaken.  So I don't think that one's canon.

You might be confusing that with the alternate ending to the Episode 3 game, in which you kill Obi-Wan, then the Emperor and take his place.

TFU's alternate ending basically has you killing Vader, then attempting to kill the Emperor, at which you fail miserably. You then become his mechanical slave. (Sound familiar?)

Actually, thinking about it; the unused score is great material, but I can see why it was cut. For example: In the unused score, the last scene in the film opens on the Rebel fleet with a great "Force Theme" cue that has a almost magical quality. Problem is, there is nothing magical about this scene. The Rebels have been defeated and the final score reflects that, with a sad but somewhat hopeful rendition of the Force Theme. Sure, its recycled from earlier in the film (remember Dagobah?), but its more appropiate for this particular scene.

I'm pretty sure I just explained why Adywan is not replacing the film score in this post, heheh. ;)
