Ditto, a download link would be awesome. Thanks!
What about the concert/extended version of the Throne Room track? I once saw an edit on Youtube that incorporated it into ROTJ SE’s ending and thought it worked pretty well.
I finally got around to watching this, and as far as fan edits go, I dig it!
Wasn’t nearly as put off by the added voices as the thread perhaps keyed me up to be. I could take or leave the KoR, but I majorly enjoyed the Exegol additions, which really seemed to be the secret ingredient in making the fleet arrival finally “click” for me personally.
Most of the fundamental issues I have with TROS still remain, but I nevertheless appreciate Hal’s efforts to smooth out the film’s many rough edges (and slow down the overall pace, which was desperately needed).
Finally, changing Leia’s saber to purple was an inspired change and makes Sheevy’s ultimate fate all the more poetic if you think about it.
Can I ask if this is also going up on the 'spleen? PM please if not.
I noticed that shot specifically (the Leia kissing Luke bit) looked a bit more detail-less and washed-out compared to the others in that scene, like Ady spliced in the GOUT transfer or something and just walked away. 😄
After digesting this for a day or so, I’ve realized that my favorite overall change is the slight color correction to the running lights on the Star Destroyers, making them stick out a bit more against the gunmetal grey. Adds a surprising amount of depth to the physical models.
I had to wipe the tears from my eyes after Hoth. It’s a hell of a thing you’ve done, Ady.
Time to spend all day refreshing the 'spleen, seems like
It would be great if the Death Star reveal in ANH:R HD had Scarif in the background.
Machete order is similar to this, except that it also throws in AOTC post-ESB, making the overall sequence parse out as 4-5-2-3-6. Really should get around to watching the movies in that manner some day.
While we're talking about oddly ADR'ed Lando lines, how about that weird echoing "That was too close!" (always sounds like he's saying "tooth loose") line from the Death Star II run later in the movie? Never fails to stick out to me.
Just dropping by to post this fan trailer I made for Revisited: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIYWrWVVIk8
I based the editing style off of the first teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode 2. If there's anything that Lucasfilm does right 100 percent of the time, it's their trailers.
I would kill for a wallpaper-sized version of the Cloud City shot...
Seriously, that shot was just stunning, as was the rest of the trailer.
Anyway, Great Job, and Happy Birthday Ady!
Wow. Just, just, WOW!
I mean, I was on the fence about this edit for a bit, but after that clip... and the wampa...
This is going to be a triumph in cinematic history, Ady.
Yeah, that trailer is one of my favorites.
Fun Fact (if you haven't read the description, heheh): That trailer was made by the guy who did KOTOR: The Movie, which you can also find on Youtube I believe.
Well, here's a little teaser trailer for Empire Strikes Back.
I made it for Adywan's Revisited, but upon review after finishing it, I realized that it functioned a lot better as a teaser for the original film.
As for editing styles, I guess I tend to put a focus on the musical aspects, usually the cuts between shots are dictated by whatever piece of music I use.
Well, in one ending, you kill the Emperor and Vader and become the leader of the Empire if I'm not mistaken. So I don't think that one's canon.
You might be confusing that with the alternate ending to the Episode 3 game, in which you kill Obi-Wan, then the Emperor and take his place.
TFU's alternate ending basically has you killing Vader, then attempting to kill the Emperor, at which you fail miserably. You then become his mechanical slave. (Sound familiar?)
Works fine for me, at least with the Ep4 single...
I have, and I've got to say that they're all quite impressive. The Episode 1 suite would have to be my favorite due to your excellent remix of the Duel of the Fates and also, the Qui-Gon single. (Didn't even realize that he had a theme until I listened to it!)
Wow, incredible editing on both the "A New Hope" and "OT Preview" track! I especially liked the transition from the Force theme to the Episode 6 duel. Again, just excellent work!
Yeah, don't know why the saber was over-brightened.
If anything, it highlights where the live-action ends and the matte begins.
Actually, thinking about it; the unused score is great material, but I can see why it was cut. For example: In the unused score, the last scene in the film opens on the Rebel fleet with a great "Force Theme" cue that has a almost magical quality. Problem is, there is nothing magical about this scene. The Rebels have been defeated and the final score reflects that, with a sad but somewhat hopeful rendition of the Force Theme. Sure, its recycled from earlier in the film (remember Dagobah?), but its more appropiate for this particular scene.
I'm pretty sure I just explained why Adywan is not replacing the film score in this post, heheh. ;)
Adywan has stated that he won't be restoring the unreleased scores. Don't know why though, some of the unused material is great, even surpassing the film score in some sections.
Well, some of the transitions between the eps were a bit rough, but overall a great, solid edit. Loved the intro; who knew the universe sequence from Contact combined with Generations music would create such a moving opening credits? Again, great work! :)
