see Rik,now you are doing the same stuff i am,changing the framerate,but to do that you have to IVTC the footage,dont you?because from what i have been doing is this,LD capture,then i run an avisynth script to IVTC the avi clip,then once that is done,then i can run filter chains and crop and re-size to make anamorphic widescreen,then after all that,damn this shit takes a long time LOL,then i encode with CCE SP,or you can just set your avi script up and open it in CCE and do the processing and encoding all at once,this is where the 36+ hours comes in to encode.
but you will probably have to use VDubMod and avisynth for your MPEG.
i really dont think you can take a 29.97fps and just encode to 23.976fps progressive without IVTC first,but i could be wrong,but i think that is why it is jumpy.

I was just wondering if there are any Milla fans here,I just found out recently that she sings too,and has a CD out called Milla : The Divine Comedy,and i have to be honost,this cd is pretty damn good,i probably wouldnt have listened to it 10 years ago but damn this sounds pretty cool,she sings very well,and i was wondering if any one here has heard Milla's music and what you think,and be honost

If you mean the "Faces" P&S ANH,yes that has been corrected(the vcr tracking) long time ago,and what do you mean here:
"So you'll be re-doing this version to include subs in the future is that correct?"
do you mean re-doing it WITH the japanese text?if so absolutely not,Dark/Sega set is good enough on that one
or do you mean,adding english subs?for like greedo's lines,if so i am not(we all know what is being said there anyway),but Boba Feta said he would add them and give me a set when he is done,i dont know how to add sub-titles,hell i am just now learning filtering and converting to anamorphic widescreen LOL,it took over 70hrs just to encode ANH in letterbox and widescreen.

I believe he already has them,i attempted capturing the Syd Mead stuff,but got REALLY bored and lost track,plus the file was getting huge for just pics,Rikter recommended just sitting back and then skip to next frame after a minute or so,I could not do it,but like i said i think i read here that he has it now,which is great

all i was meaning to say is,that with moth3r's help and Citizens aspect ratio calculator,there was no way i could get rid of the black bars completely,and i too am transfering the Blade Runner Criterion set(2 disc)so i was curious how he did it,but he said it is a little stretched,than that would explain it,this is only my second transfer being converted to 16:9 anamorphic WS,so i am still learning myself.

I am using avisynth filters on mine(still tweaking them as i type LOL),but using the aspect ratio calculator of Citizens,i will not be eliminating the black bars altogether,because it is a 2:35:1 ratio,so there are still small bars,what did you convert yours to,1:75:1 or 1:85:1 widescreen?so with this ratio you will have it blown up a little(like you said)the reason i ask is i am new to making anamorphic widescreen,this will be only my second release that has been made to 16:9,and after reading your reply, i am curious how this will look,because by all my numbers(for 16:9 WS)i am going to have the black bars.

I am downloading your 2 disc set at TPB,was wondering,i am also making a 16:9 widescreen version of my Criterion LD,has your version been filtered at all? or just cropped re-sized for anamorphic widescreen and then added the appropriate borders?

ps 1 more thing did you use the 1(#69) disc or 2 disc(#19) Criterion set?
