Hi everyone, hope you're well, new member, here especially for this release.

Is there any way I can get hold of a copy of this as an *.avi file? My DVD burner is screwed you see so I tend to transfer films to my ipod and then plug that into the TV. I would really appreciate any information you can give me as I am absolutely dying to see this edit. Thanks for all your hard work either way.

you have a PM.

Info Wanted: GOUT with LD audio?
Time

I have never been that into the differences in the audio, but the more and more I read here at OT,it seems there are differences between the mixes and some are definitely better than others,so could some kind soul enlighten me on which audio version is the best for each of the GOUT video’s(ANH,ESB,ROTJ)and why, what makes it different? and are they still available somewhere?

Thanks in advance for the info

Help Wanted: Star Wars 1989 laserdisc mix and the GOUT
Time

pardon my not knowing much about the audio side of things, but what is the reason for putting the LD audio onto the GOUT video?

and if there are better audio versions for the 3 GOUT versions, which are better and why?

just trying to understand the audio side of things.

Thanks

and to sync it just add the video into VDubMPEG and then browse for your LD audio then click on interleaving and start adjusting it until you have it right, then you will know what your delay is.

I really do not understand this "need" for the PAL version when you guys can play the NTSC just fine, maybe someone can explain why you would prefer this version?

but what sux for us is we can't play the PAL version just fine,we have to convert or watch it on a shitty DVD player that does an even shittier conversion.

NTSC DVDs tend to be very gittery when played back on PAL DVD players (at least on mine they are) I assume this is a combination of 3:2 pulldown and format conversion (that would be the same kind of 'shitty conversion' you're talking about, just because they play NTSC doesn't mean they play it well).

Maybe I have only tried DVDs that haven't been properly flagged for progressive playback, or maybe it's because my DVD player / TV don't handle NTSC signals properly. But 3:2 pulldown is as annoying for me as PAL speed up is for you. In the end it just comes down to everyone liking what they're used to.

I intend to download you NTSC DVD of the cannes cut (which, knowing the quality of your work, I'm sure will be properly flagged) and I'll let you know if it plays back properly on my system.

Please do and thanks for the explanation, now I see you guys have pretty much the same issues we do then, again thanks for clearing that up for me.

and yes give me your feedback after you download it and watch,I am very interested in your comments.

How's the quality? Does it look like an SD upconversion? Could you possibly post a screenshot (or two)?

It looks OK,but it is a 720p version,damn I was hoping for 1080p LOL.
I would like to do some more comparison to the retail DVD though to see if it is even worth doing anything with.

But Jeepers Creepers is 1080p and it looks sweet.

x264 and audio synching?
Time

Nevermind I figured out a way to do this,it seems there still is NO software that lets you edit h264 files,so I just converted my file to xvid and loaded it up in VDubMod and browsed for my audio and was able to sync it just fine, now I can put the DD 5.1 AC3 files in my SW AVCHD DVD's(get rid of the crappy 2.0 audio),I am doing all 6 of them,NO touching up at all, just a straight up AVCHD Disc is all, something to hold me over until Ady gets all his finished.

2 down (Phantom Menace,Attack of The Clones)and 4 to go.

my little boy wants to have a SW marathon so I want to finish these up ASAP.
