Ah, I was hoping for maybe a tinyencode backlog. Oh well.
Ah, I was hoping for maybe a tinyencode backlog. Oh well.
Is there anywhere that v5 is available aside from old torrents?
Did anyone ever make a v5.5 that had the AV improvements of 6 but kept out things like Anakin’s perv stare?
I was watching this video on the production of the despecialized videos, and there was one part that really stuck out to me as strange. at the 18:29 mark the video talks about how Harmy had to create new animation to “recreate the subtle movement present in the original footage.” However when the creature lifts his head (specifically at the 18:33 mark) it almost look like its nostril/eye (the vertical slit) is sliding down on its face, staying relatively still on the screen as its head moves. Am I crazy? Did Harmy make a mistake? I believe the original movie used an animatronic so I can’t imagine it would have the same issue unless this is just a weird trick of perspective.
Do you still believe that 2.5 will be out by the time Solo releases?
Would it be at all realistic to expect ESB 2.5 to come out by the release of Eps VIII?
I don’t know if this is the place to ask this, but which movie version is Harmy currently working on, and is there any sort of rough ETA on it?
Is there an ETA on ESB 2.5?
I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but I’ve searched and haven’t been able to find an answer.
Are the 3.0 versions that Harmy is (presumably) working on planned to be the “final” versions of the movies? Also, do we know which Harmy is working on currently?
I’m not totally sure whether the gold leg is a mistake on the blu-ray, a mistake of Harmy’s, a mistake of the props department, or just weird lighting. Maybe someone else can elucidate.

A couple of things I noticed when I watched through 2.5, I’m not sure if they’re errors or not:
at 36:15, the text on Luke’s screen seems to be “sliding” around on the screen. That is, the camera is shaking but the text remains at the same point in the frame. This could be something that was present in the theatrical and just a result of 1980 editing technology.
At 1:55:54, Both of C-3PO’s legs are gold, when both before and after this scene his right leg is silver. Again I don’t know if this is an error on Harmy’s part or the original editing team.
Harmy do you know of any ETA on when 2.0 will be done? I know it probably won’t be before TFA, but I’m just curious.
my rar’s are showing 6.89GB.
Yeah I’m confused because this is less than half the size of my ANH and ESB files.
I’m reading that the download is only 7.23GB, is that right? Are there only supposed to be 15 parts?
wondering if we should go with V1.0 or the workprint.
I won’t have the chance to download it for a while, but I’m very curious to hear from people whether or not 1.0 or the workprint will be better for our pre-TFA marathons.
Will you provide a link to the download here when it’s available?
I still am not sure anyone besides you sees the nostril thing.
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills here. It takes place between 43:53 and 43:58, and it’s clear as day to me. This obviously isn’t the thread to bring it up so I won’t harp on it, but I don’t understand why no one else sees it.
If Harmy does have another go at Star Wars, the only thing that always bothered me (I think I made a post about it in the Star Wars thread a while back) is the digital error on the lizard thing in the background when they’re first going into the Cantina, where his head moves but the nostril doesn’t move with it. It’s a stupidly minor detail but once I noticed it I can no longer not notice it. Also I’m a little confused by your wording, are the despecialized editions planned to get an upgrade to 1080?
No, I want to keep it consistent with the other versions, so all versions up to 2.5 will remain 720p.
Sorry, I don’t follow all the goings on of this forum as much as a lot of other people. What are your eventual endgame plans regarding resolution? 1080p was mentioned elsewhere, will that be for all 3 movies/is that as high as you plan to go?
Also as a side note, what are your plans after RotJ 2.0 is finished, start work on ANH 3.0?
I just thought it was something that Harmy should keep in mind if he ever makes a 2.6/whatever it ends up being called. If this is the only thing that needs fixing then great, but I have no idea what he has planned for the first movie at this point.
Does anyone else see it or am I just completely crazy?
I don't think you're right. I took another video, this time from an earlier time mark, and you can see that the same problem happens when the creature lowers its head as well. I really don't think this can be attributed to just angles. It looks like it's moving across the head. (youtube's compression makes it harder to see than I'd like, so to see for yourself, the timestamp is 43:50 If you look closely, you can see the texture sliding.)

What I'm trying to point out is that black line on the front of the creature's head. It's either a nostril or an eye-slit or something. at 0:02 just before the guy in the beige shirt walks in front of it, the creature raises its head. However, the slit stays at the same point on the screen, instead of moving up with the rest of the head. Do you see what I'm trying to say?
Is this an animation error? I was watching the 2.5 of Star Wars, and when they're walking into the Cantina, the nostril(?) on the creature outside the door doesn't seem to move along with his head. I only noticed this because it was one of the scenes Harmy included as an example where he had to do some stuff by hand in his "trailer" for the despecialized editions. Here's a recording that I took

Just search any torrent site like piratebay or kat and you'll find them no problem.
