That’s not fucking around. That’s working.
They were putting “boxes” on “shelves”.
Even though the new Picard series is being reported as a series on its own and not connected to Discovery, I still find I have little to no enthusiasm for the show considering 1) We’ve had 15 years of Picard (from TNG to Nemesis); and 2) CBS/Paramount seems to be unable to find, or care about finding, people who can write Prime Universe Trek competently. There’s also nothing to say that Sir Patrick will hold his character to the standard it should be set despite bad writing/directing/showrunning, as Mark Hamill took issue with Old Luke (at least at first) and yet portrayed Luke like that anyway.
I have more excitement for The Orville renewing for Season 2.
to them[, heterosexuality] is a structure built to reinforce misogyny.
I don’t understand how that is supposed to work.

can you tell me why it is important to specify up front whether it was all a single shooting incident?
Because multiple/many instances of gang violence, domestic violence, robbery, et al. in a highly populated area are separate issues than someone purposefully shooting into a crowded concert from a nearby hotel room window or else running down scores of people on the sidewalk with a truck.
The circumstances involved with, and the societal impact of, one person shooting sixty people versus sixty people shooting one person each, is significant enough to be relevant to the story. Omitting such information skews the response people will give, which is to say it leads people to become misinformed based on (understandably) inaccurate assumptions.
The universe that chyron has invented in his head and lives in by himself.
Was that even a joke? I don’t know what it means.
Wow. Who crapped in your cereal?!
Welcome back, Ripplin.
I take credit for this one.
I have no idea what that means!
The right people will know what it means.
I get the feeling that this is an “Emperor’s New Clothes” sort of thing, where being one of “the right people” (or thinking that one is) isn’t actually that desirable.
Of course, this should be obvious because Frink is the one determining who the right people are.
Or Ripplin came here because I sent him a PM on FE (along with several other people) to let them know my ROTR workprint is ready for their review and the links are here?
You can decide which is more plausible.

Seems doubtful I will ever shit.
Hard pass.
Who said it’s set in DSC’s timeframe? A post-TNG series about Picard doesn’t have to reference DSC at all.
By definition it wouldn’t be DSC then, if it made no reference to or connection with DSC. That’d be like a TNG arc that followed the Enterprise-C, and yet never airing Yesterday’s Enterprise to make any of it relevant to the “next generation”.
Also, TNG characters appeared in Enterprise, and look how well that turned out. Granted ENT was good and DSC is awful, so they can’t really do any worse to DSC at this point.
JEDIT: You know what? Sure. I’d love for DSC to be retconned as some ludicrous holonovel Barclay dreamed up.
I’m kind of unrelatable, I guess.
I can relate to this.
Seriously. Sir Patrick Stewart as Picard can be in DSC but that doesn’t draw the whole series into Prime nor does it mean that iteration of Picard is also from Prime. There are plenty of universes in which Picard exists and looks like Patrick Stewart.
Ask her if she’s ignoring you. Don’t ask it weird.
Yeah I don’t see anything wrong with this.
Not being sarcastic.
Or, to clarify, given my own nihilistic tendencies I simply failed to have an instinctive reaction in the same vein as that experienced by MFM and so I was mildly curious as to why…
I would say because not all nihilists are created equal. I mean, I identify my faith as a Baptist but I have additional or alternative ideas for certain things that may not necessarily be in keeping with official Baptist doctrine.
I would say that such labels are a social construct that may not fully encompass the scope and depth of what one truly believes or holds as truth, even if they generally identify as belonging to certain labels. So just because MFM (or yourself) says he is/you are a nihilist, that shouldn’t paint him or you into a corner to only believe what is strictly defined as nihilist.
Back to the prime universe, baby!
No. Whatever. This show is not Prime Universe. It makes no sense for it to be Prime Universe. Many plotholes in the show are solved by saying it’s not.
Praetorian, I think your points would be better understood if your used simpler or more common language. You “translated” one confusingly verbose post by following up with another very-sightly-less confusingly verbose one.
Also, it occurs to me that just because someone identifies as nihilist, that doesn’t mean they must adhere to every facet of it.
You should’ve put your thought into spoken word.
I did, but she didn’t understand what I was talking about.
My daughter and I fed snacks to the dog, and wife said “this is why the dog weighs 80 pounds.”
And my first thought was “In Soviet Russia, 80 pounds weighs you.”
