Adywan, I would love it if you could clip Carrie Fisher’s coke nail off.

Please do not do that!

Why not? I always see it. Carrie might do drugs, but that doesn’t mean Leia has to.

Yoda looks great in ESB, but very wonky in Jedi. so… yeah. He needs lots of fixing up himself.

Yoda is dying. They said in interviews that he was accidentally going cross-eyed on set but they didn’t fix it, instead reasoning that it makes sense to say it’s because he’s dying.

Chewie’s introduction in the cell is one of the few changes I’d really like to see in even a ‘soft’ fanedit like this. It’s basically a plot hole that Chewie isn’t captured, since 3PO says ‘Lando Calrissian and poor Chewbacca never returned from this awful place’.

To make it work…

To make it “work” all Ady has to do is remove the audio “and poor Chewbacca” so Threepio says ‘Lando Calrissian never returned from this awful place’ and wala! … no more plot hole.

Why does it not work? Threepio is a freakin blabbermouth. They’re not going to tell him their actual plan. Threepio only assumes Chewie never returned either because he’s out of the loop on what has actually been happening or because they straight up lied to him.

Oh thanks guys, that’s two things I’ll never unsee.

You’ve never seen that before now? I thought knowing about Carrie’s Jedi coke nail was like a right of passage around here or something.

Rite

Yes. Umm… that was a typo. I’m not an idiot. Really.

The rescue from Jabba’s palace is a mess. Luke’s plan seems to be “Ok, everybody go in and get caught, then I’ll show up and get caught. Then, just before I’m executed, I’ll kill everybody!”

So where in the world and at what point in time does “seen” mean “partially seen” then?

Why does it matter so much to you to belabor the point? Why are you so rude and combative about it? Do you need a hug?

JEDIT: It rained yesterday, so my lawn was wet and I couldn’t mow. Today is sunny but I still can’t mow because I won’t get home until it is dark.

Also, I don’t think you understand how language works. The meanings of words do change over time and space. The same words can mean different things to different people. For example, what Americans call “fries” are called “chips” by the English. The inherent purpose of language is such that one person can communicate with another and understanding of intended meaning can be reached. The manner in which people are able to use specific words to convey meanings and ideas is fluid and not fixed, and miscommunication in a common occurrence in society as a result.

The original post did not specify whether or not watching a film without completely finishing it (yet) was acceptable. And the original poster also has not elaborated to support either front. I couldn’t think of what my then-penultimate-completely-watched-film was, so I posted a penultimate-mostly-watched-film instead. The word “seen” does not inherently convey what percentage of a movie must be experienced. Therefore, when I posted I said I hadn’t actually finished it yet. Now I have, but I haven’t watched another movie since watching it, so never you mind my opinion of it yet.

But that would mean you’ve seen it twice, when really you’ve only seen it once.

I would have only seen it once in its entirety, yes.

At the moment, the penultimate movie I’ve seen (yes, in its entirety), is now Captain Jack Sparrow and the Heart of Davy Jones. I haven’t seen Dead Man’s Chest often nor recently enough to compare it to an edit, but this edit is pretty good. It still suffers from not being nearly as good as The Curse of the Black Pearl, nor feeling like the park ride, but it’s a good adventure flick.

You can pretend words mean whatever you want em to, but that’s just not how it works.

Yes it is. Words mean whatever to whomever is using them, and to whomever they are communicating with. I was not communicating directly to you, therefore I was not holding myself to your standard of definition.

Words change over time depending on usage, and there is no dictionary definition regarding whether the word “seen” is defined as meaning “all” or “in part”, nor if in part how much in part or of what part.

Or “Yes, but only part of it.” Which is indeed what I actually said.

The correct language would be “No, only part of it.”

That would be the language you would use. It is not the language I would nor did use. Such is the nature of language. Further, OP basically doesn’t care about such distinctions. He left it up to us to decide, and your arguing with me is not going to change what I said.

There’s only one valid interpretation.

To you.

If a friend asked you if you’d seen a movie but you’d only watched half of it […] you would say something to the effect of “I’ve seen part of it.”

Or “Yes, but only part of it.” Which is indeed what I actually said. The thread rules did not specifically stipulate otherwise, nor does Ender’s reply regarding this debate seem to indicate an either hard nor fast rule regarding such exists.
