Are you joking? Real life is... real life. Are you saying that a computer generated White House would be more real than the real White House? Real is real, I don't know what else you'd want beyond this.

I've been talking about perfection. The CGI Whitzehouse will definitely look better than the original. It is not real, it looks better. In reality there is a lot of dirt no matter how much you clean it

)

I like the perfection of cgi graphics and at least they look much better than those old muppet tricks

As i said in my first post, the original series should be available in unmodified and good quality for those who like and i am sure one day i would watch them again myself just to see de difference...

)

But i definitely prefer the modified versions, they fit much better to the prequeels. and for me, i have been a big fan of the prequeels, and i loved it much more than the old series.

I think both groups of fans should get what they want, thos who love the original versions should get a high quality transfer. i cannot believe that it would be such a high price to restore the complete material in original form, most of the restauration has already been done on the new versions, the just have to cut the material like the old versions have been cut and mayby have to restore a few extra frames. the letter they posted regarding the transfer of the original series from laserdisk sounds stupid to me, i dont think the afford to restore the material to original state is so high as they claimed.

But on the other hand, ther are fans like me, for whom the special edition is not special enough, as i said, all the computer stuff lokks so old, i would even replace some interior inside the death star for example with new cgi. the death star is built with imperial perfection, so it should look this way. and one more thing i would like to be changed, the death star explosion should be changed. in anh its a big bang, compared to the explosion of the robot control ship it looks quite lame. cgi could change this.

and i dont like the muppet show. not at all. it is not perfect. cgi is more perfect than life thats why i like its perfection

I think finally all 6 episodes shold be one big story and the sequels should fit ep 1-3, so while talking about the force to luke, obi should mention the midichlorians because that would fill one of those gaps that came from the fact that midichlorians have been introduced long after 4-6 have been filmed

)

The same with the imperator, in ep 3 he is a main character an the next two episodes he is not there at all. i think some little scenes with him would spice up the stories.

and i hate that technological imperfection. i think star wars is future, so it should be tansformed to the technological state of the art

I think the special editions are not good enough. There should be much more alterations to fit the new movies with the episodes 1, 2 and 3. Watching Star Wars in order of episodes brings a hard break after episode three in many technological means. I would at least alter everything that is not perfect due to the 70ies and 80ies technical limitations.

things i would like to be changed most include:

1. simple muppet show effects replaced by cgi wherever possible, of cours keeping the original designs but in a more living form. especially the bands in ep 4 and 6, jabba and so on. i never liked this, not even as a child (i have seen ep5 and 6 in cinema during their first release in Germany)

2. simple computer displays. fuck they had holographic battlefield simulations in ep 2 and then they have those fucking old display systems in ep 4 for example the display showing the death star aproaching the secret base or even worse, the fire controll systems inside millenium falcon, that looks like atari 2600 tic tac toe.

3. aged technology replaced by new high tech cgi versions.

4. some new scenes and altered dialogues to tie up stuff with ep 1, 2, 3, for example i would like to see imperator in small scenes in ep 4 and 5, he was introduced much earlier so there is absolutely no reason to keep him in disguise in ep 4 and 5, and i would like to hear the midichlorians at least mentioned one single time.

many stuff still is in a good condition and should be kept, but there is a lot to do to get 4-6 to a level equal to 1-3. i think a complete remake would be a big mistake, but there should be a lot of updates. thats what i would prefer. Of course the original versions should be kept in good condition to for those who prefer
