Huckleberry Finn to be Censored

It was a bright cold day in April and the clocks were striking thirteen.

Exactly. Orwell wouldn't believe these days.

I'm not surprised that a classic has been edited, but this is a definitive American literary classic. You'd think that more people would be leery of doing so. Still this has not been unheard of.

I still remember finding out about the Hardy Boys revisions and rewrites. Collecting them will never end...

THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)

It didn't cost much, thankfully. Got it today.

Took a while to get rolling, as all three reels needed to be rewound. The projector also tortured me by munching up the leader on two reels.

I hate it when that happens. You cringe and cross your fingers hoping it will work...

This print is really pink and badly scratched. In spite of the WB/Kinney logo, it's the post '77 cut so far. (Watching this slightly out of order, so I haven't gotten to SEN scene with the kids yet to be 100% certain.) Curiously, the final reel has a WB television logo on the end, but nothing has been cut for tv.

I will attempt some screencaps from the DV tape, but it won't be a pretty sight!

Please do! Grindhouse THX!!

Save Star Wars Dot Com

I think he honestly believes in preservation. The problem is that he found he could go back and "fix" things he never liked with new technologies and got way too carried away. Now the OOT looks too old and he thinks no one would bother with the rough version anymore.

I just can't believe he spoke out against every single thing he did to his own films.

Wasn't the the re-release cut of THX the original film? I could understand why the theatrical was never released (although I would want to see it like Touch of Evil).

Where does your screen name come from?
Time

I remember hearing Vader say "We will test it on Captain Solo" in ESB and thinking that it made Han sound really really cool. Even Vader had to give the most badass smuggler in the galaxy a title. I'm also a Han fanatic and adore the Daley novels, so it seemed apt.

Yes, I do have the Han standee. Don't judge me. ;)

Plus "Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader" seemed like it was too long of a screen name.

I, too, just finished watching Ady's ESB 1980 theatrical version on a 1080p projector with a nice surround system about three hours ago.  Loved every second of it.  Odd that we both watched it on the same night with pretty much the same setup...your name's not Kyle or Grant, is it?!

No it isn't my name.

That is really weird. What are the chances? I didn't watch it in HD, but upscaled to 1080. Should have taken a photo.
