Wish it was the Jar-Jar in carbonite.....
Wish it was the Jar-Jar in carbonite.....
Sega Genesis
Galaga, Joust, Spy Hunter, OutRun, Hydro Thunder, Crazy Taxi, X-men,
Gran Turismo 2, Jedi Knight Dark Forces II, Rebel Assault II, Super Smash Bros., Star Fox 64, Rogue Squadron, Goldeneye,
And a little game you may have seen before...
I still get a rush whenever I see this machine. I remember the first time I beat the Boba Fett level and the Vader level on the same play. When I find a machine that isn't modded (jammed joystick, unresponsive buttons) and with a good bright screen I can blast through all the way to the end on one play. I love the way the built in speakers rumble your seat. If there was ever any arcade game to have in my house....is there any other game where you get to fight wampas, duel with Boba and Vader by lightsaber, fight in both Death Star battles, fight on speeder bikes, fight the battle of Hoth and in Echo Base, play the battle of Endor, and virtually relive the OT?
Cannot wait to see this. Absolutely fantastic work!!
My very guilty pleasure can get longer??
He seems to be fine, and then we deal with all of this crap...which is it?
I'll admit it was really weird to see him in a Han Shot First shirt.
Putting in my photo really creeped me out.

Lucas fucked up THX every bit as much as he did Star Wars. Fortunately, I found out about it before I bought it, so I was able to pass. No way I want those images in my head. I'll go without ever watching it again before I watch that train wreck.
God it is so bad. Entire scenes were dropped and shots completely recomposed if not redone entirely. In ways it is worse than SW. Fitting that the most artistic of his films has been completely lobotomized.
Tried it with the LBX set, and it was a complete mess. It's really not worth it because the resolution is pitiful, and you don't have the full 5.1 97 soundtrack-I think that the tapes have a DD 2.0 downmix. The only problem is that there really isn't a good LD transfer of the SE.
I played on a friend's copy and just found it to be another repetitive SW button masher.
The novel was pretty good though. At least they came up with a reasonable way for Starkiller to return for the sequel.
Is it too much to ask for a modern OT SW game that is actually fun? Everything else is EU or Prequel.
Oh boy, now I have to go and play Jedi Outcast...
Sort of...until I realized just how much was changed from the original. I haven't been able to watch my DVD since.
Now THX 1138 is coming to Blu as well, and it is likely to also be the SE only.
It can be done I think. The Indy films have great 5.1 tracks derived from their 70mm releases.
Peeping Tom. Stunning.
I wish that LFL had simply released the 97s on DVD before 2004. Then we would at least have something besides that atrocity.
God. This is making me so hungry!! The room will soon smell of pasta...and garlic.
If we can get enough letters in at this date-maybe it might get some wheels to turn.
If this is anything like Kingdom of Heaven I'll be ecstatic.
And it is completely feasible.
Exactly. The game was easily explained in the book and it is so much more dramatic. Bond does not play Texas Hold 'Em!!
I also miss the teasers and much of the old feel.
I know it may not be the greatest thing in the world, but it's Ridley Scott so I'll be there opening day.
and Vidor.
And Leia would have 50 costume and hair changes in 20 minutes.
One would think that someone would have realized the selling point of including restored HD transfers of the original theatrical films, even if only studying the intense positive reaction from BR and CEot3K.
Maybe the delay means that some actual quality control will be implemented...well I can dream can't I? It only took 11 years after the "one last time" release.
TPM was part of my childhood-as a separate film I can stand it.
I saw AOTC, but after seeing it in an omnimax dome theater I realized that things were getting worse. If you thought it was bad before-try seeing it in that dome! The horror..
ROTS was one of the most depressing experiences I've ever had in a movie theater. Completely lackluster and boring. You go in knowing exactly what will happen, and there's just no way that they'll just let it unfold like a great slumbering mess is there? Oh wait; that's exactly what they did. That was just a bunch of "ohs" and "I guess this is where he gets the-yeah".
After this I gave up SW for some time. I would look around from time to time at all of my stuff and long for the SW of my childhood. What I wouldn't give for another release of the 97SE in theaters. (OOT would be better, but I'll take what I can get.) It wasn't until the GOUT and this site that I began to pick up the pieces of my shattered fandom. Geeky, I know.
If the the majority of what was added to the EU for the Prequels was added or substituted the result would be much better. These films do suck though. They really suck. As films, as Star Wars-as just anything. They're bad on all fronts and most criminally they are tepid and uninspired. They are the cartoonish tripe that critics accused the OT of being.
"The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner now I am the master.""Only a master of empty technique!"
The absolute moment I realized the degree of suckness was when I finally saw the original version of THX-1138 again. Episode II was made by the same guy? How can it be?
Guess those are all digital screenings.
