My thought was to post at a.b.dvd, but that group is so big, I was concerned it might be a problem. So I'm leaning towards a.b.multimedia.scifi.
Any thoughts before I start on this?

- Worst song covers EVER!

Every year my sister and I trade gag gifts for Christmas. Some examples: a garden sculpture made of elephant dung, testicles for an SUV, lead remover pads (my sister is a very slow runner/skater). This last Christmas my sister gave me a homemade David Hasselhof (sp?) calendar, which was laughingly horrendous (sorry if there are any fans in the house - I like Knight Rider when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago.) Anyway, my family and I listened to some of the songs he had on Itunes and laughed about how bad they were (These Boots Were Made for Walking was especially atrocious). Anyway, I know it's really early, but I'm thinking about putting together a CD for her for next Christmas of the worst covers ever, including some of "The Hoff's" work.
So if you know of any really bad examples that might be useful, please let me know. I've already got an eye on Pat Boone's "No More Mr. Nice Guy" CD and Richard Cheese's "Lounge Against the Machine." I don't necessarily want intentionally bad - unintentional humor is much better.
Anyway, thanks for reading the long post, and for any contributions you might have to make.

Have you tried Abebooks.com? I didn't take time to sift through the results, but I've had good success finding discontinued books through them.

Thanks!

Anyways, I have had one person report that their copy of ADM's Episode II had sync problems between video (ahead) and audio (behind) for most of the movie. It seems to be a disc problem, although I do not have such a problem on my copies at home. Has anybody had a similar problem with any of their discs, ADM Ep. II in particular? Has anybody every heard of a bad burn acting like this, or have any other suggestions what it might be?
Thanks

I need confirmtion on whether my copy is corrupted or not. At around 1hr 37min 34secs Lando is talking to Ackbar about how the Death Star is operational. Around the bit where Ackbar says "...cruisers can't..." my audio clicks and seems to skip a few milliseconds of audio, however I can't really see any jump in the video.
Does anyone else experience this, or is my copy screwed, and I need to re-get it?

I hadn't noticed it before, but I checked my copy, and found the same problem. I guess this means that everybody who got a copy from me has the same issue as well. Nuts. Can we get any other confirmation?

As several others have already mentioned, please be sure to pay it forward as much as you can, anytime you receive discs from somebody (or help seed, post on usenet, etc). I figure that I would have been willing to spend a fair bit of money on ebay for the OT alone had I not stumbled onto this site, not to mention the money I might have spent on Deleted Magic, SW edits, other movie edits, etc. The amount of money I spend on paying it forward is a small fraction of this potential amount. And while this little "project" was a non-negligible expense, it was worth it, since it made lots of people happy, not just me (especially on a "people per dollar" basis

And most importantly, big thanks to those who put in the effort and time and expense into producing these wonderful projects that the rest of us get to enjoy so much and to those who keep this community thriving.
Peace

snakestorm, Ingo Sucks, WESHALLPRESERVE, dark_jedi, and the remainders for Rebel 11_38, meedermow, and f1209.
This should be it (whew). If I have made any mistakes, forgotten anybody, etc. please let me know. If any of the discs have problems, contact me via email (included in the packages) and we'll get it sorted out.
Meedermow, I'm still trying to get hold of an un-corrupted ESB Farsight version. As soon as I get it, I'll get a copy to you. Sorry.
Anyways, Merry Christmas (again), Happy New Year, and enjoy.
Peace,
