Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

If the mistakes were there on film, in cinemas, they will be preserved but I don't think they were.

Just to let you know guys, I've got lots of school work piled up (what with my final exams coming up and all), so there hasn't been much development lately. I'd wanted the edit to be done before I had to start doing all the school work but since I didn't manage to meet that dead line and I don't want to rush it, because I want to get everything right, I won't be able to resume work on this until the end of May.

No worries Harmy.  Something like this is definitely worth the wait.  Take care of yourself and school work, and we will be eagerly waiting a summer release!  Best of luck with school!

Probably a good way to go about this (if you don't have a BD Writer would be to purchase all necessary materials, and then find somebody who has the proper equipment and is willing to do the work and then just ship them with a prepaid package back.  That way there is zero money transferred.  No reimbursement Nothing too terribly shady. :) Unfortunately I'm in the same boat since I do not have a BD Writer.

I'm sure that this shot was like this in the original, but it just looks really out of place.

The scenes before and after it, the sky is a nice blue, but this closeup it is very red.  If it was supposed to be like that as per the original, that's fine by me, just is a bit off to me.

It's things like this that make me so happy preservations like this and DJ's are around -- it's scary to see people already forgetting (or never even knowing) what the originals looked like.

It is so true.  I'm only 24, so never fortunate enough to see SW in theaters (at least originally.  my dad brought me when they were re-released).  My dad was a huge fan, and I have grown up on these films, but over time, I have just been desensitized by the Special Editions.  Glad to finally experience this as it was meant to be!  Unfortunately my dad has since passed away, so I won't be able to share these with him.  Thank you so much for what you do, and keep up the great work Harmy!

Just finished watching the WP, and it looks amazing! There were a couple things that I did notice that were also in V1, and not sure if they were left on purpose or not.

At 15:14 into this WP, there was a line going across the screen in the middle of the explosion.  It looks like this was in the original filming, so not sure if anything can be done about this.

Also, at 16:45 into the WP, there is odd coloring that just takes up the bottom left of the screen, and moves up the screen during that shot.

Other than these two things, which like I said don't know if they'd even be able to to be fixed, the WP looks fantastic, and so excited that we are that much closer to a finished product!

Harmy, I agree with everybody above, you are doing a wonderful job, and are capable of making this movie better than most of us have ever seen.

With that being said, I did come across one thing that might need fixing.

I didn't see it the first time through, so it is fairly minor, but I did notice it on my work computer (which tends to be a little bit brighter).  At the bottom of the window, the space seems to be blue, and if I look closely I can see it around the perimeter of the entire window.

Keep up the amazing job!

Those look amazing!!! Definitely worth the wait.  And don't worry, life comes first don't stress about making us happy!  Also, One comment as, I don't know if you did this on purpose or not...

The background of the covers is grey, but on the bindings on each of the covers, the insides of the letters (like inside the P and R, etc.) is black.

EDIT

One more thing I noticed.  On the disk art, around the perimeter, the word bought is misspelled as bougth. :)

OK, so I am about half way through the workprint so far, and I am very excited about it!  However, I do have one thing that I noticed.

If you look to the left of C3PO, although it seems brighter than V1.0, it almost starts to get a little pixelated through the brightness.  V1.0 was a darker shot overall, and the rest of the shot looks much better in V2, but there are a few times in this same sequence where Owen is talking to C3PO where this happens.

Other than this, it looks great so far.  I will be sure to let you know if I find anything else.

Harmy's STAR WARS TRILOGY "Partly Despecialized Edition" HD. !!! These version are now obsolete - Look for Despecialized Editions instead!!!

I like that idea.  Harmy, I say stick to your guns on this one (your vision, your project), but once we have a perfect V2, making our own personal version using your edit with the SE would be incredibly simple (provided it differs from what you release :-) )

Coming soon!!!

In a vein similar to Harmy's restorations I have restored the film posters to the best of my abilities. They may not be 100% accurate, but they are very pleasing to the eye. I did my own take of the Definitive laser disc box set, though it is still quite different. I'm almost done with the discs, so they will be uploaded sometime in the next few days or so.

All art and images are pre 1997 material to make things more legit. The only images on the back that are not from Harmy's preservation are promotional images and what not.

These look fantastic!  Can't wait until they are all uploaded so I can make my newly downloaded movies complete!
