O-OT Star Wars "Bonus Disc" menus (www.starwars.com)

For new movies coming out, when a studio refuses to allow critics to preview the film, it usually means that the studio knows that the movie sucks. So they don't allow any previews in hopes to trick people into seeing before they hear that its bad. I'm afraid that its a similar thing going on here. Lucas knows that the quality is substandard, so he won't allow anyone to see screenshots or clips it before the release, to keep people wanting them. Then he has the fallback of "its bonus material" when people complain.
I don't believe it was a real review.

1. It was inaccessible at the posted url.
2. You cannot prevent reviewers from making screenshots - that is protected under the news and documentaries clauses (which are embedded into the basic copyright laws that all countries respecting copyrights observe).

PS: I give the 2004 version a 4.0/10 for picture quality. Yes it is crisp and sharp, but the grain removal and wrong colouring gets to me. I give Terminator 1 a 9/10 for picture quality - and I would give it 10 if the film scratches (which are evident all the way through the movie) weren't there... but hen again they don't bother me.

Info Wanted: Do I Have The Best OT Preservation DVDs out there?

You need to brush up on news articles. I believe LucasFilms responded to questions on the quality of the upcoming releases and they stated it will be taken from the best source available for the non-SE OT. Which are the Laserdiscs. I think Sansweet confirmed that as well. Now like I said, a lot of people here say it's the Laserdisc Masters, so it will definitely be better than ripping the Laserdiscs to DVD, but we'll see. And as I've already pointed out in other threads - many DVD's have been made from the same masters as Laserdsic. And some can be shown to be of greater quality then subsequent releases mastered from a newly made digital source.Originally posted by: Duke of Crydee
I don't think anyone was referring to actually owning the Laserdiscs.
Why not?

So you're looking at over $50 for the entire OT, since Lucas is forcing you to buy the SE versions as well. On top of that, the video quality has been confirmed by LucasFilms themselves as being no better than anything you can find from what has been released here. No thanks. Well, I prefer the real thing to piracy. It will be better quality then any LD preservation. But the reissued DVDs? Hell no. LucasFilm already admitted after the announcement that the non-SE OT versions on the new DVDs are just bonus material taken straight from the Laserdiscs without any work done on them. I'd imagine X0's version would wipe the floor with the official ones since they're actually taking time to fix things.
They're not taken from laserdisc, and they're a legal release. If you prefer, buy the laserdiscs - but they'll cost more and I assure you the DVD will be better quality then the LD. .. oh and you have to live with the annoyances of the LD format too... no thanks, I'll buy the DVD.

There are plenty of alternatives which have lined up spines, text in the same place, etc... Coov has a unique approach that would be lost if he was doing the same thing as everyone else (not that I think everyone else is making all the same thing - there's a great variety). Besides there's so much choice of fan-created DVD covers... how much more do u need?

By the way, Rikter... u can use:

it has a 1.5MB file size limit.

Top Ten things I want to do to BadAssKeith:

10. Beat up his girlfriend: Rick McCullum

9. Strangle him with the original film negatives

8. Put him in CGI land

7. Sue his ass for everything he has got and go laugh in his face when he’s living on the streets

6. Kick him in the crotch

5. Put laxatives in his drinks

4. Beat him to a pulp

3. Get a voodoo doll of him and do you know what

2. Hang him by the balls

1. Make him dance naked in the streets

Please refrain from negative comments. We don’t want to be offensive here.

Alright, ... now I'll be intelligent. Cause someone here needs to be to shut this fucken dickhole back up into his dark cave that he obviously lives in. Fucks sake.

I’m dying to buy some lakefront property but I can’t afford it and I have been trying to think of ways to make tons of money quickly but all of them have been beaten to a pulp so the only thing left is lawsuits. But I want the big bucks so I want to go for the cream of the crop. Suing big corporations seems like one of the last opportunities that hasn’t been taken to make it big and it’s something I believe in! So look all over for proven contradictory quotes from lucas and lets sue this bastard! I’m looking forward to buying lakefront property! GET A FUCKEN JOB.

You guys are totally missing the point. I will just find a lawyer that is willing to work for free and is also compassionate about this issue. If I can't find any... well then, I'm screwed, but there has got to be someone out there who is willing to work for free? Sure I will pay them if I win but it sure as hell won't be 33%. And the hell with the lawyers, if I can't find any for free, I'll take this all on myself! Fuck you're stupid. One cannot possibly imagine how on earth you became to be so stupid. 33% is a STANDARD fee. You may well have to pay MORE. Lawyers are not going to "donate" their time to your "charitable" money-making big-business-suing scam. They will have to spend much of their 33% fee researching and gathering information for your case. You will not find a lawyer who will work for free - and you sure as hell won't find one who's going to reduce the fee. You have no freaking idea about anything, let alone what you're actually talking about.

And I don’t care if it isn’t against the law to be a selfish bastard. I am not going to put up with this bullshit. I’ll also try to find a judge who is an OOT fan. I’ll win easily!
Fuck imagine if it was against the law to be a selfish bastard? "BadAssKeith" wouldn't be here posting this shit to us!Originally posted by: BadAssKeith
But you guys are missing out on an opportunity to make lots of money, make Lucas lose a lot of his money and bad to the entire world!
You already said that - fuck go on then sue him.Originally posted by: BadAssKeith
Fine be that way, you'll regret it when you see me filthy rich sitting on my porch veiwing the sunset from my beautiful lakefront house!
No I won't because I don't lust after money the way you do. Money is something you EARN, dickhole.

Am I the only one who thinks BatShitKeith is going to give up on this and resort to a life of crime? "Come on guys, cocaine is the shit! You are passing up on a great opportunity to makes lots of money!!!!!!!"

Star Wars CD Cover Art Thread
Time
There are some good 3-disc DVD case covers - these would take up less room then 3 CD cases... or do you mean you want a 3-disc CD case cover?

Here's where you'll find some 3-dsic covers....

Falle's
- the one on this page is designed for a thick spine.

DanB's
- the one on this page is designed for a thin spine.

Rikter's
- again, thin spines.

RixGrafix (username?)
- thick spines.

And finally, more can be found here:
Various Artists
with both thick and thin spines.

And I think my list is even, kind of in chronological order with the newest first and the oldest last... though i didn't deliberately make this order.

BTW: I know Coov has more covers at another location, not just at the "various artists" link - Coov, where can i find your other trilogy DVD covers?

I used the suggestions given and made this an all region cover. So here's the update, let me know how I'm doing.
I'd make the background a bit darker. Also, it looks like you still have the FBI warning on there just without the logo?
