Mother, tell your children not to understand, oh mother.
Mother, tell your children not to understand, oh mother.
Oh man, any world created by Philip K. Dick is a damn good world to want to explore and it keeps you thinking about it.
That goes without saying (or at least it should).
Still, I don’t think I’ll ever watch the film adaptation of Radio Free Albemuth ever again, Alanis Morissette notwithstanding.
It should, but have ran into people not fans of his work what so ever, it boggles my mind.
Probably not, Frink is intellectually superior.
Sarcasm I hope, the film has bigger holes in it than leia ignoring chewie, I think the entire script is awful.
Show me bigger holes than I’ve experienced at the bar, and I might agree.

Also just bought jedi knight: dark forces 2 on gog.com
Mine a few seconds ago:
Star wars: Tie fighter from gog.com I remember that being a pretty damn fun game.
Hmmm, and there was the “I’d just as soon kiss a wookiee.”
lol…wise, he must be a PT character!
If Ep.VIII is going for the ANH/TFA route again, I will no doubt completely avoid it 😄
I bet you $5000 that you watch Episode VIII no matter what.
What if I told you that, understanding that TFA would’be been mostly a commercial product, I wasn’t going to buy a single ticket for this movie? I watched it just because my friends begged me to 😄
I’d call bullsh*t 😉
If you don’t believe me, read it for yourself here 😄 (I DID buy the ticket when I saw TFA, don’t worry).
Also, her absence would have been conspicuous. Less so, now that we know what she does in the Galaxy and we may not need to see her again.
Yeah, I guess with Han dead, she could retire from the Resistence, if needed.
I can say Ron Jeremy begged me to go, but doesn’t automatically make it true.
And luke didn’t seem to already know Ben/Obiwan in ANH. Let alone “often come to his aid”
And vader wasn’t lukes father in ANH.
I guess it’s not, because he liked ESB. So auto-not contrived. If he doesn’t like a movie already then being contrived is somehow bad.

I’m sure they’ll happen to beg you the next time too.
Plausible stops being a thing when you’re watching a movie that already has magical powers and lazer swords.
I prefer the desolate abandoned looking hovel myself.
The SE revision is like hanging up a neon sign for every would be Jedi hunter and desert riff raff to knock on your door. 😉
Yeah I prefer the original myself.
Ok I can agree with that, unstar wars like made me “Wtf?” for a moment. lol
Didn’t he start to at least give hints that he might beleive in ANH? “Hey luke…may the force be with you.”
Yes it does, because I’m not going to eat food that is touching shit. That and they’re two completely different damned things anyway. So this analogy doesn’t even make sense to begin with. That’s like saying that one of your farts is worse than the other because you can’t smell the lotion as much.
No, because you eat a cake. Last I knew, I didn’t have to taste or lick the icing off of a movie.
If it’s an entire set/world/location, it should, as it’s the establishing film. So yes it should still feel like star wars even with it’s faults.
Why is it less a Star Wars locale than Tunisia, Quatemala, or a glacier in Norway?
Well what can I say… it just is. Feel is a feel… if I could derive you a formula for a feeling I would but I cannot. I guess it takes a talent to pick the right stuff. When Lucas was in change he and his team seemed to always be able to do it right.
Not that ruling out that Irish island in a shitty weather require any talent. It is a common sense. In the last scene I felt like I was on Craggy Island with Father Ted.
If they used an Irish island in 1977 and Tunisia in 2015, I guarantee you would have said it was Tunisia that didn’t feel like Star Wars.
You cannot guarantee that. I still dislike (feel-wise) a few of the original scenes from ANH for the very same reason.
…ANH doesn’t feel like star wars?
Well if you make a nice cake and you put a little piece of feces inside a tiny part of the cake, that tiny part will most certainly not feel like the overall cake.
Well that’s not really the point, everything ANH should feel like star wars, it IS star wars.

I knew I was in the wrong place when I read some of the threads and replies from the resident CLIQUE, you all should really try harder to be inclusive rather than criticise every post a non-clique member posts, your forum may last longer.
Ha, this forum will last way longer than you.
Now then, I’m off to another thread to say things you can’t possibly understand because you aren’t a part of the clique.
Wink wink, nudge nudge. 😃
I’m starting to think we need a glossary of these things for newcomers?
Probably a good idea, been signed up for a while, but been out of the loop for so long it just went right over my head.
