A short rebuttal to the point about Rachel: I think Nolan never wanted to portray Bruce Wayne as entirely sane. The way everyone - Alfred, Lucius, even Rachel herself at times etc. - reacts to the Batman kind of proves that. I think it might actually line up with Nolan's Bruce Wayne to be that obsessive.

Edit: Just got back. Very disappointed in the presentation. The blacks were washed out and the picture detail was very poor. I'd say it was on par with the original broadcasts. I'm sure the actual blu-rays will look far superior. Just another strike against AMC in my book.
I'm disappointed Anchorhead thinks this is a movie that can wait til the home release, I usually really enjoy hearing his perspective on movies.
I saw it, and might have rebuttals for both Gaff and Warb at one point. I mostly agreed with Gaff, but I was a little less critical than he was.

I'm doing a midnight screening at the Westwood Village theater in Los Angeles. That screen has to be as big (if not bigger) than any imax screen I've ever seen. It never lets me down.
Okay guys. I've numerously declared my love for Batman the Animated Series and the numerous worlds it has inspired. So it may not come as a surprise to all of you that I really, really dig this. The Hub, master of all things Bat from Adam West to Kevin Conroy, actually hired the cast of the animated series to record their own version of the Dark Knight Rises trailer. The footage itself is poorly put together by the Hub (changing aspect ratios and horrible interlacing... what?) but I'd be lying if this didn't get me even more pumped.
My god... 3 and 1 don't look quite so awful, but 2 genuinely looks like a 12-year-old's photoshop job!

^That's the trend unfortunately. To a lesser extent, even the Superman Returns had that bizarre textured look to the costuem. The new Spider-Man had it, too. I'm not so crazy about that - looks too much like body armor for my tastes - but my bigger problem is the overblown S.
I heard there might be a trailer for Man of Steel alongside Dark Knight Rises. Given my distaste for Zack Snyder, I'm not expecting much. Here's hoping the man can prove me wrong.
I saw Raiders and Temple of Doom about two years ago on 35mm in Los Angeles. The Raiders print looked pretty beat up sometimes, but Temple looked great. I was wiped out, or I would've stayed for Last Crusade too...

The fact that this ad implies that it's coming from a digital source pretty much assures that it's the SE. I doubt a restaurant in Hillcrest is just going to happen to have a film projector, anyway; the area is just packed with trendy clubs, so I can't imagine this space being too large.
^Spoiler: they do. And I'm pretty sure the Nostalgia Critic shouldn't be the end-all-be-all opinion on these movies considering he's more about schtick than reviewing. I kind of wish the Chick would analyze modern movies, come to think of it...
I primarily use jdownloader on Mac but I've used it on Windows as well and I believe this is the same. Usually, if you copy the link to the file - don't even need to paste it anywhere - jdownloader will detect the fill on uloz that it's referring to. You then have to start the download from the queue.

New VLC has an "add film grain" filter. A bizarre choice of features, but it really helps with low-quality files and movies (such as Disney films) that got the DNR dial abused during remastering. The artificial sharpening doesn't even look too bad! Of course, depending on what you're watching, you might want to turn up or down the level of intensity. I thought it helped with Fantasia, that's for sure.

Yeah. I think Raimi pulled it off much better in Spider-Man 2 on the train, but I didn't mind the crane scene the way you guys did.
edit: Oh, and lastly, some serious nitpicking. The new costume isn't bad but the one from the Raimiverse just appeals to me more. Perhaps it's the traditionalist in me, but the new one looks too flashy... and I'm really not a fan of that material they use on superhero costumes these days. Superman Returns had the same look that made it look more like it was sewn rather than spandex. The most egregious of these is the all-CG GL costume though. So that was a detractor but in no way was it significant.
