This has been detailed in the official screenshots thread.  It almost appears as though they blurred the GOUT some; note R2 in this shot.

While the GOUT IMO has a slight upper hand, the bottom left corner of R2 - what do we have here?  These odd notches seem to have been blurred together on the GOUT, whereas they are not on moth3r's transfer.

ah.  You're correct in that AB Groupe commissioned the dub, as they hold the rights in practically all of Europe.  I guess Toonami/Cartoon Network and YTV found it cheaper to buy this from them - and supposedly the fans were much angrier about the new cast there.

You assume automatically that the one film he's interested in is ESB Davnes.  He's a fan of the original Star Wars :p - which is understandable.

Very interested in this idea that Lucas dislikes the first Star Wars... would you care to elaborate, Anchorhead?  I was under the impression that the only one he really disliked was ESB, and that the first was a sentimental favorite (the last part is an assumption on my part).

Uh, just my 2 cents - yellow subs are distracting.  Size is fine, but stick to white.  Edit:  the shots above look good, however I think there's too much color - particularly shot #2.

Most of these episodes are often found "remastered" by youtubers.  These youtubers are usually arseholes though, so good luck getting HQ videos.  Also, they don't even crop the picture - they just stretch the previously existing 4:3, and it looks horrid IMO.  Personally, I'm far more interested in the original DragonBall dub.  Not only is that script different from FUNimation's, but it's also much harder to find (Nyoibou is used, as is the "Son" family name).

Many of the videos that don't simply have synched footage from a DVD have foreign subtitles and are of dubious quality.

GT is not quite as hard to find as DB, but it's harder than Z.

That being said, if I could help let me know - I'm also interested in this project.  Similar projects have been attempted at Daizex by a member calling himself DBZOceanHD.  He's also the Kai fandub guy.  You can find the few episodes he completed here

I believe this was addressed during the adamwankenobi days, before my time.  Jay said that he likes the free atmosphere here - but I don't think there were any "trolls" yet.

I've personally never gotten into the gimp; never seemed to do what I wanted. I will admit it's a great program if you can figure it out though.  Personally, I use paint.net - but my stuff is nowhere near as complicated as DVD covers, it's more like forum signatures.
