oops, I completely forgot I'd already posted. My apologies.
oops, I completely forgot I'd already posted. My apologies.
So is this still around?
Apocalypse Now. Really powerful, that movie is. I don't know if I'd put it really high on my list, but I'm rarely fond of war movies. Definitely one I'd watch again; it's quite the experience, for sure. Even the theatrical cut was at times slow, but I don't have much of an attention span I'll admit... Part 2 was ultimately far superior (part 2 as noted by disc 2 of the DVD set).
Favorite scenes:
-Death of Mr. Clean. I don't think I've ever seen a more poignant death scene, or at least not one that was beautiful in a movie-watching sense like that.
-The End. Have to lump that all together in one category. I also loved the contrast between using the uncensored and the censored versions of the song at different points in the movie, especially considering how it fit with Mr. Kurtz's speech right before his death.
Crazy Train... with a twist.
This guy's channel is full of gems I never would have thought possible
That would be really out of place, though it IS quite creepy
I still think it has nothing to do with that... plus, that mad scientist was CLEARLY Chinese :p. I really think they mean it's a collector's item and not a casual DVD - I mean, the set certainly sounds fancy eough.
Now that I see it again, the Episode I puppet really isn't so bad - especially when put side-to-side with that ESB shot. Everything's right but his eyes... oh, and the hair seems out of place. Ain't it funny how that works out?
That's what I've heard. Godfather III, from what I understand, is a "it's just kind of there" or a "what were they thinking?!?" movie.
...wow. That's really all I can say. This got me really pumped for Apocalypse Now.
Would you prefer I ignore Johnny?
Watching The Godfather for the first time tonight. I'm a little tired, so hopefully I make it all the way through - I'm sure someone would literally kill me if I fell asleep during it.
Oops. You'd think I'd check before I speak. My mistake!
Not gonna lie, I'd laugh so hard if we ended up bidding against -1.
I believe this is also available on tehparadox currently.
So that's it? The hole? That's no worse than what happened to Raiders with the reflection, I think.
It won't stay that cheap...
I could swear he just blasted George for this. Didn't he?
OK, so I rented Apocalypse Now. Should I do Redux or the Theatrical Cut for a first-time viewing? This was inspired by the fact that I read Heart of Darkness for AP Lit.
Anyone have any comparison screenshots?
I think he may be confusing changes in color / DNR with Lucas-level changes.
After just criticizing Lucas? Wow. Just wow.
He hasn't said picture-wise... yet, I don't think. He said audio-wise, which can be true.
Google Translate ain't exactly always the best. I'd guess he was probably closer in actual translation... it looks right to me, but I lost all my Spanish-speaking ability over the summer. I dropped Spanish 5 because I couldn't understand a damn thing.
I think that's their way of saying "handle with care" rather than saying they're too violent. I've seen a bunch of them, and believe me when I say Adventure Time is far more offensive than anything these have to offer (or even the '90s Superman cartoon). I don't think there's any physical contact aside from grabs in them...
also, sadly, Batman TAS basically wouldn't be for children anymore. Certainly not Saturday mornings... it fit the evening slot on Cartoon Network better anyway if you ask me though.
