Tears for Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World as covered by Korean prodigy Sungha. Seriously, he's like 12.
Got my camera working. It's slightly darker in-person, but the flesh tones are definitely there unlike on the UE DVD.
This is tough. Of non-embarrassing movies, Empire Strikes Back. Of embarrassing movies, probably Peter Pan (the musical) as performed by Mary Martin.
The movie wasn't too bad. I didn't grow up with the show, but it was fun - which is exactly how I imagine the show went.
Yeah. The visions of Luke and Leia in the clouds during Luke's training...
The "Tom Cruise is Evil" gif comes from YTMND.com . And then a random thought came after.
Now now, innocent until proven guilty... every other sock has been banned on-the-spot so far.
YTMND. Sometimes you were classy...
"u know ur a? 90s kid when u watch fantasia" -youtube. Oh the stupidity
^I remember liking it when I was a kid. I'll have to check it out agai nnow.
Lemonstein, if only you'd been here for the flipper debates...
RIP Leslie Nielsen...
Also, why did they never explain why Kreacher became loyal to Harry? Yes, he was his property, but they never got into his change in demeanor after the locket (let alone actually giving it to him).
You're welcome... that's really the only thing that strikes me as missing, too.
One and five are my favorites. Number one has a real sense of magic about it, and it did cut out a fair amount (the non-duel at night, Peeves etc.). Five just had a sense of magic that I felt was missing from three and four.
Also, 7.1 was okay. Not fantastic or bad by any means, just kind of there. Although the one major thing they cut was VERY minor, being the whole "Voldemort-is-a-trigger-word" thing which explains why Harry uses you know who in this movie instead.
Yeah, I think it has more to do with studio tinkering than flaws in SD transfers. Look at Live and Let Die and the disaster its DVD is, while the blu looks... well, much better but not perfect.
There should be a warning somewhere in the name of this thread warning those who need to conserve their bandwidth. This is a tough page to load...
The Man with the Golden Gun. Not the best, but I don't know if it quite qualifies as bad. There were some serious campy moments, but it was nice seeing Bond somewhat competent (compared to Live and Let Die, where he seemed to fall into every trap even remotely possible.)
Proof I spend too much time here. JediTray was in my dreams o.O
I took a picture with my camera that might reflect this, but unfortunately my camera chord is not cooperating... I don't have a microSD slot, and the camera's not being read for some reason. By *any* of my computers.
I see. Anyway, for whatever reason, I don't seem to have the attention span for lTK tonight. However, I was pleasantly surprised that i didn't see any pop-up ads. Was nice.
EDIT: I watched OHMSS on Syfy tonight, and this shot looks more like it did in the SE on the channel. I wish I could show it, but I don't have a capture card. Does this mean they've fixed the colors for the eventual blu release, or what? Either way, it looked a lot more like what I remember in the theater than the UE atrocity there.
Currently watching LTK on Syfy... anyone else think the rear levels are ridiculously high? I had to readjust my set just to hear any dialogue, by boosting the front channels far higher than they should go - and, mind you, my surround system isn't even set up properly! For aesthetic reasons we leave them in front with the others, our room just wouldn't work with them in the back.
@TV'sFrink I don't normally chill to reggae. My musical tastes stick to around the year he was born.
@TV'sFrink I mean Snow Patrol http://tinyurl.com/yadames
@TV'sFrink do you mean patrol?
