The Matrix
Time
The matrix is a totally top movie. This may not be a popular opinion but,for me,Reloaded is the best movie of the three.I lvoed the expansion of the themes, the action and effects and style of the film.Although disliked by a lot of people the scene with the architect remains my favourite scene throughout the three films.Revolutions was a bit disappointing but,as has been said, the super brawl at the end did make up for a lot of that as it was totally awesome.I have been very lucky recently in that I just acquired a screenused Agent Smith stunt gun used by Hugo Weaving in Reloaded. Also used in revolutions but in a scene that was cut.It was used in the scene where the Smiths shoot the keymaker though so I have been thrilled to get it.
I had a personal dream come true with reloaded which is another reason why I love it so much.My wife was pregnant with our first child when reloaded came out and was very, very sick and I was looking after her and couldn't really get out to see the film.So about a month after the release when she was asleep one afternoon I finally managed to get to the cinema to see it.Turns out I had the whole place just to myself. It was totally awesome having the place just for me and was something I had dreamed about for years-my own private cinema!I was sat there with my feet up on the seats in front of me (I am very tall so am usually cramped in cinemas) making kung-fu noises at the top of my vocie the whoel time.Just great stuff!

Making of Star Wars (New Book) Discussion
Time
Personally I think this is the best book done on Star Wars to date and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.Just one thing, though, that before anyone starts getting too cosy with the notion of Kurtz being some saint let us not forget that old Gary has been selling his name and sticking them onto highly priced and highly questionable if not downright damnably fake props for the past few years to rake in some cash.

An interesting piece of news
Time
He did a lot of stormtroper stunts as he played a stormtroper in all three films however one of the most memorable is during the speeder chase Dr.Bear is one of the biker scouts that crashes into a tree and is also the scout who is knocked off his speeder by one of the ewok tripwire traps. He played a snowtrooper on Hoth in ESB and was one of the opening scene stormtroopers aboard the tantive at the start of star wars and was one of he troopers chasing Luke and Leia down before the bridge jump aboard the death star.

Dr.Bear has very kindly provided me with some photos to use in the interview article to compliment it.He has been just fantastic.A really great, genuine guy who has been courteous, helpful and pleasant in all his communications with me.Both he and his personal assistant have gone out of their way to arrange this interview for me and it has been just a thrill to talk to a man with such a fantastic career.Among his work, outside of star wars,he has also worked on the first three star trek movies, the towering inferno, planet of the apes and black rain to name but a few.A genuinely fascinating man with one of the best natures I have ever come across.I really look forward to publishing the interview on my site soon.
He also very kindly is sending me a personalised signed picture as a memento for me of this great experience.I mean, seriously,it's not every day you get to talk to an imperial stormtrooper!

Making of Star Wars (New Book) Discussion

I now have a couple of pics of my script on my site and I will update it every now and then with different pages and scenes.A great piece to have and I am just thrilled as it has been one of my goals to obtain a draft script for star wars for some time. The Third Draft is very interesting reading although I wont be reading it too much for fear of damaging it!

From my perspective as a prop collector this will be an invaluable book.Very interesting with a lot of great detailed information and pictures of the bulding of models and such and there are some pieces of mine feautured in there I believe such as some interesting stuff about the pyro X-Wing models of which I have some examples and the construction of threepio is also detailed quite well I understand.I recently acquired an original third draft script as well so it will be interesting to see what it says about the evolution of the script from original through drafts to the final version.
Definitely a worthwhile purchase.Mine should be arriving soon.

Any Anne Rice Fans Here?
Time
To be honest the way things have been reported, particularly (no offence) in the US,have been very slanted and can be fairly misrepresented and the situation here is largely not understood outside the country.
I haven't actually seen any pics of Rice in a long time. Then again what age is she now?She must be in her fifties i would imagine. We none of us are spared the effects of age.I'm starting to get grey hairs and the face is showing some wear and tear!As a friend of mine likes to say:
"It's not the years,it's the mileage"
lol!

Are we still getting bad press abroad?I live in Northern Ireland-belfast as a matter of fact!i pride myself on having Ireland's largest collection of original Star Wars Props and Production material!
i actually cant believe these days that this country is still viewed that way. That's a bit sad actually. We haven't had problems in a long time.It was terrible here when I was growing up,dont get me wrong,i am in my mid-thirties and I remember it when it was at it's worst but the situation has changed so much now.
I actually didn't like Towsend as Lestat at all.He didn't manage the swagger that i always picture Lestat to have.he just seemed too..well...he seemed like a bit of a big wimp really!lol!

Hell, man, you could get a negative picture of anyone anywhere from the net somewhere!I dare say there are people view all of us on here as a straggly bunch of whining, obsessed geeks (I include myself in there naturally )
I live in Ireland so I basically never get to meet anyone as no-one ever comes here!I met Dave Prowse when I was about six or seven and he was opening a shopping centre in my home town.It was the biggest centre in the country at the time so they managed to get Dave to open it which was sweet and a great memory to have.
Outside of the chronicles I am not a huge fan.I didn't really get Taltos. The characters didn't appeal to me as much and seemed less defined than the chronicles.
My favourite moment in the film?
"Louis,Louis...still whining Louis!"
It seems a foregone conclusion now that we wont get an adaptation of The Vampire Lestat after that atrocity that was The Queen Of The Damned which is honestly one of the worst films I have ever seen.
