Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit [Cancelled]

The only thing I removed in my edit is the handstand bit. I think it’s a bit too silly. The majority of my edit will be the Director’s Cut, and I will just be making some trims like this, with a few audio edits.

I won’t be putting in any TV cut scenes because of the SD quality drop, even though I was planning to use the exterior windmill scene before deciding against it.

ok.thanks for response.

Hello everyone! I’ve completed a lot of work on this, and when it gets closer to being finished, I’ll get around to posting a finalized changes list (which won’t be very long). I’m posting now to ask for feedback from anyone who cares. This is my currently finished edit of the “Little Ashes” sequence, which had a couple of shots removed and had the music reinserted:

https://youtu.be/WqzuXVWQlyA

looks ok,but i like the long version more.
what total time have your edit?
will there more missing scenes in?

  • Reinstated Luke’s line to R2 of, “You’re lucky you don’t taste very good.”
  • Used 2011 BluRay audio to include updated sound design for Slave I during its first appearance to match Episode II.
  • Removed Luke’s scream from the 1997 mix as he falls down the Cloud City shaft after his confrontation with Vader.

I wonder if anyone has noticed this.

During the scene in the MF while escaping Tatooine from the Empire, Chewie isn’t wearing anything and Han is wearing his pilots gloves.

Then in the next shot of the MF going into hyperspace, Chewie is suddenly wearing his Bandolier belt and Han isn’t wearing his pilots gloves.

i sure adywan know this 😉

Star Wars: deleted and extended scenes * database *

There is quite a few shots you are missing for Empire Strikes back from the trailers.

These off the top of my head are as follows.

Deleted Wampa claw Luke hangs upside down before waking.

Deleted Shot of Shield generator explosion. Big Explosion.

Probe Droid alert and turns head after Han shoots it.

Lando heads for the Landing Platform.

Han pulls Leia behind him before shooting at Vader in Dining Room.

Chewie smacks a Storm Trooper in the carbon freeze chamber really hard.

Luke writhing / struggling in Bacta Tank.

Vader throws Luke with the force down cloud city chasm. This one is unusable as they obviously changed the scene a lot. but you did log it just the description is wrong. he was meant to choke him lift him and then throw him down. there is art for the throttle and lift luke in mid air. He perhaps was not dad in this version…

Extended shot of Han outside cloud city after Falcon landed.

I think that is all of them… You need to check all 3 or 4 trailers. Vivaldi and trailers 1 and 2. Trailer 2 is not in widescreen though.

is there some unused scenes in anh trailers i don´t know?
i´ve seen much and don´t find anything…

An Imperial officer run’s across the death star hanger, it also has a unique alarm sound which was probably dropped… In the Radio Drama there is Audio for Chewie taking out the troopers (guards)

when 3P0 is in the oil bath on tattooine the sound of liquid dripping off is absent but can be found in an on set audio take.

Audio is the Key to unlock the deleted material and make it presentable.

I wanted to log all the missing tid-bits of audio / sound effects I found so far…

Captain Atillies thrown against the wall - Proper sound of hitting the Tank cynlinder not on set Audio found in German Dub and Radio Drama

Landspeeder Search for R2-D2 - Radio Drama has Blip sound effect for scanner

Sand People Attack - Radio Drama has Antony Daniels Shouting as he falls from the cliff and Hit sound for The Sand person Thrusting his Staff in to Luke, Luke also responds with a yelp

Krayt Dragon Call - The Radio Drama features the Original Krayt Dragon call which comes in a bit earlier in this version you can also hear the sound of the Land Speeder Parts falling on the ground as the Sand people Turn in Surprise

Alderaan Destruction - Mottis footsteps were used for the previous scene featuring the death star view screen (part of this sequence is put into the Battle of Yavin Sequence) Music Cue incorrect and Death Star firing Sequence missing sound for some of The Gunner Operators pulling Levers and “Stand By” voice over announcement absent.

The Death Star Core - When Leia Shoots the Storm Trooper that slumps on the ground the Audio for falling on the floor is found in the Original Theatrical Trailer.

Vader & Kenobi Duel - Just Before Obiwan Get’s the Chop the sound of the 2 Lightsabers Briefly Kissing is Absent although Flashes are Present. There is a bit in the middle like this also sound missing for the kisses.

On the shot of the Falcon escaping the Deathstar flying towards camera the Death Star in the Background The music cut’s off Abruptly. A shot was pinched from this part and used for the Falcon Flying away from the Death Star Trench that was in the Theatrical Version replaced in the Special Edition. I am still yet to try it but I am pretty shure it’s a missing 2 seconds music and booster sound but I saw a version of the precceding shot with some omninous green flashes around the death star in a documentary so there could be a bit more to the sequence but not all that much. i.e it’s possible it was planned that the Death Star turrets around the Hanger let a couple of shots off before the Falcon got intercepted by the Tie Fighters.

When the x-wing has the Hatched closed before Luke Takes off with Voice over from Ben Kenobi. The sound of the Hatch Closing and being sealed can be heard in the Radio Drama.

There could be a few more, this is the current list and discovery compiled but this is I hope a helpful list of Alternate and Missing Audio either way.

IDEA!

I also was wondering if you put the scenes from Return Of The Jedi originally intended for Star Wars back in Star Wars

The scenes from Empire Strikes Back special edition back in to Return of the Jedi that were originally Planned for Return of the Jedi

And then Add the trailer scenes deleted footage to each film as they are in HD / Good quality it would be a start and this might be the momentum needed to get the job finally done perhaps.

A brief extension to each film say then more will come later perhaps.

Optical Mattes and effects Missing from Star Wars.

So Far I have found The escape Pod Boosters on the Tube Launch has Black circles which fade away where the Ignition Booster mattes go. This Coupled with a Tunnel Matte surrounding the Ring Tube Edge. The Tunnel Matte would act Brightly in conjunction with the retro rockets then dim as the Pod went in to space.

(Original theatrical) The Landspeeder outside Ben’s hut matte shot is missing the rear vent grills and the booster parts.

When Obi-wan Blocks the Laser with his Light Saber in the Cantina a flash frame is Absent.

i think you should do this: https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Star-Wars-saga-Extra-Extended-Edition-1080p/id/52131
if you need help let me know.
i´m working on a extended version too,but i think it wouldn´t so good like andrea´s version…

Star Wars VistaVision “8-Perf X-Wing Wedges” Preservation

“At ILM, its VistaVision Moviola, made from a cannibalized movement (interior mechanism) extracted from a Technirama VistaVision camera.” - The Making of Star Wars by J.W. Rinzler

As a huge fan of the movies of the original trilogy and a long time researcher of the miniatures built for them, I went out on a limb and purchased this roll of VistaVision film purporting to come from ILM-Van Nuys:

image 1

What interested me most about the roll of film in this auction what I could make out of a few of the light table scans in the auction web page:

image 2

image 4

From what I could make out, the roll contained a series of individual visual effects elements which would be composited together for some of the most iconic shots in the first film. So I eagerly bought the roll and contacted a friend in the film industry to see if we couldn’t figure out a way to have it cleaned, scanned and preserved.

Here’s the roll now in my shop, sitting amongst a very small portion of my collection of ILM-Van Nuys-sourced miniature ephemera:

It took some doing to find a lab that had the necessary equipment to mount, clean and scan what is by now a quite ancient film format. After being turned away three or four times, my friend in California found a place that was willing to do the job, and once they realized what we had, were even excited about an opportunity to assist with the preservation of something this rare.

We’re still processing the results of this scan, but here’s a preview of what we found on this small reel:

What we’re looking at here is the matte element for the following frame in the film:

And here is the X-Wing miniatures element for this frame in the film:

I’ve been enjoying color-correcting each frame:
