2009: State of Star Wars
Time

I'd say star wars is still going strong despite the missteps we've seen in 1999, 2002 and 2005. The GOUT is not perfect but has somewhat pleased me. It has its flaws though. I won't even get into the folly that was the special edition and 2004 DVD release.

I still wish I could find the ISOMIX trilogy for download, for me this transfer of the good OOT is still the best. All I am missing is Return of the Jedi. That has been the dark side of star wars for me, trying to find this file over the last 3 years since losing it due to a hard drive crash. Anyone who can help me get the ISOMIX trilogy back can email me at bbbb@email.com. Yes that is the downside of star wars for me but apart from that star wars is still my favorite movie series by far. For me it is the original trilogy all the way.

STAR WARS: The Torrents thread
Time

Hello,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but I am looking for the ISOMIX version of ROTJ and would appreciate your input. I have 700mb versions of ANH (650mb) and ESB(670mb) but lost ROTJ (707mb) some time ago due to a hard drive crash and have been searching for it since. The ISOMIX version I had featured good subtitles and good video (not too dark or bright) and audio quality. I'm hoping someone can help me get this file.

I read on this site that the ISOMIX transfer was still on myspleen. Would someone like to exchange a myspleen invite for a demonoid invite via PM?

If this file is no longer available may I ask what transfer I should get and where I could find it?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

bbbb

2006 DVD OOT
Time

I appreciate your comments everyone. I am very pleased with the amount of enthusiasm and dedication on this site to the star wars trilogy. You make the internet a better place because of it.

Over a year after starting this topic, I can say that I am still happy with the GOUT. Unfortunately as many of you have pointed out, there are weaknesses in this release, which hopefully aren't in the laserdisc rips. The only one I am familiar with is the ISOMIX trilogy, of which I lost ROTJ and am still trying to find again. Any help you could offer me for this would be greatly appreciated.

2006 DVD OOT
Time
It's been some time now that I have enjoyed these DVDs. If I were George Lucas I would seriously consider selling them again so more people can enjoy what I have waited a long time to enjoy (I think it was what 6 or 7 years?).

May I ask what you thought of these DVDs? Were they authentic, good enough quality for such old movies, etc?

For me they completely and instantly satisfied my desire to see my favorite movies in their original splendour.

Now I need to find me some drinks and something to snack on while I enjoy them some more!

George Lucas, many thanks!

Thank you!

Rebel Assault II and, Jedi Knight Dark Forces II cutscenes
Time
These cutscenes really bring back memories of Jedi Knight. I loved that game, I played it for years with the JKEdit custom level editor to make my own SW adventures and downloaded existing JK mods. These expanded the game's longevity as they seamlessly integrated into the game. The ESB carbon freezing chamber level was my favorite addon level. It really captured the look and feel of the saber duel from ESB. I just didn't like the idea of Vader using Force Lightning.

I never played Rebel Assault or RAII.

How Lucas can satisfy the fans.
Time
Star Wars is the only series of movies I cherish. On the net I have tried and laboured to get the original trilogy in the non SE form of pre-1997. Now I can get these movies, granted for $90. Guys I've waited years for this and now I have a chance to have them on DVD. Thank you George Lucas, please don't release them again. It makes us all look overly obsessed. They're great movies though and I'd love to have the SE and 2004 and OOT on DVD. DVD is the best medium for all movies. Gotta love the quality of the DVD.

Thank you George Lucas!

Try to take it easy with the Lucas bashing.
Time
Hmm, seems we've taken to bashing each other. We accomplished the original mission of the site guys, I doubt GL can totally satisfy every fan. I think this is as good as we're going to get for some time to come. Remember that people do read this forum. They won't be impressed if we bash each other instead of Lucasfilm. I for one plan on buying the new DVD release of the OOT.

May the Force be with you,

2004 DVD crap-o-la

I have to admit, and not ashamed to, with the new discs out today I just saw the 'new fixed' stuff from the 2004 DVDs and of course with the material from the '97 SE for the first time. (I did see SE in the theatre, but just saw the super enhanced DVDs for the first time) And I have to say no self-respecting Wars fan should have ever bought the '04 discs or watch them. They are so bad. I couldn't stop shaking my head when watching Jedi Rocks, or Hayden's head on the spirit of Anakin. Or Han steppin on Jabba's tale. How many times does he have to say 'Han my bookie". C'mon why is Luke's sabre green when he is training in the falcon? And why is Tatooine celebrating when the Empre falls? And how horrible is the new dialouge between the emp and Vader in ESB. "The young rebel who destroyed the Death star is the off spring of Anakin Skywalker" Now that was a great idea!
HAAAAAAAAA

HOW BAD IS THE EWOK SONG AT THE END!!!!!!!!!???????????

Ewok song? Never heard of it.

I hear ya, I saw the DVD release on TV a year ago. It was crap! Hayden's head put on Shaw's body. Eek, that Hayden was sure creepy there. In Ep II and III he was like Frankenstein, a really angry Frankenstein!
