Fox only has the distribution rights to ANH at the moment, and those rights revert to Disney in 2020, therefore it really doesn’t matter what FOX wants.
I think Fox has New Hope forever, in perpetuity, and loses the other 5 completely in '20.

It was a theatrical trailer done around '78 as part of a re-release’s ad campaign (even though it had never totally left theaters in a lot of cities).
