Info: I Want My STV... Star Trek Videos (Star Trek Music Videos, Tape One)
Time

While at a thrift store recently, I came across a VHS in a bargain bin called I Want My STV… Star Trek Videos (Star Trek Music Videos, Tape One). I bought it.

Upon reviewing its contents, I found that the tape contained six fan-made music videos with pop songs synced to scenes from the Star Trek series. I have no idea what year this was made, but my guess would be (hopefully) the early 90’s based on song choices and content. Here is a complete listing of the videos, as described by the back of the case:

 1. “The Movies” (Nelson - After The Rain)
 2. “ST:TNG Punch And Kisses” (Aerosmith - Love In An Elevator)
 3. “2 Captains” (ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man)
 4. “Kissing Crew” (Robert Palmer - Addicted To Love)
 5. “Klingons” (Michael Jackson - Bad)
 6. “25 Years Of Star Trek” (Huey Lewis and The News - Couple Days Off)

As you can see, the cheese factor alone made this worth watching.

Anyway, just wondering if any of you Star Trek nerds out there have this already, or if it is ripe for fan preservation on DVD. Contact me if you are interested in doing a transfer of this collection. I don’t have the capabilities to do a transfer of this, but I’m sure someone here does. Thanks!

RE: Nonhumans In The Battle Of Yavin

I always took the Rebel Alliance at this point as being a loosely-organized, far spread group of insurgents.

Since the group involved in this skirmish in this sector of the galaxy is comprised (most likely) of turncoats from Alderaan, Dantooine, Tattooine and other such "human" worlds, I don't really see why it's necessary to throw in Rodians or what have you.

By the time we get to ROTJ (to me anyway), it seems like the Alliance has pulled together for one mass-attack. That's why you see more diversity there - everyone has gotten together to work as one mass space navy, rather than small guerilla warrior pockets (of likely less diverse groups).

Admiral Ackbar does not need to be on Yavin.

"Bah! It's a trap!"
