Zombies and Jedi
Time
If Lucas wanted to make the ultimate Star Wars movie, he'd throw some zombies into the mix. Throughtout the 2 trilogys, how often do we actually see lightsabers cutting through something organic? Only 5 or 6 times, and even then, the actual cut is usually offscreen.

Seeing a few jedi hack their way through a horde of zombies is worth triple admission price to me. And just that opens doors to zombie jedi and jedi zombies.

Of course, Lucas would screw all up with digital blood and illplaced burp jokes. But I can still dream.

Poor Obi-Wan
Time
Ok, with the new ending of ROTJ, don't you think Obi-Wan would be super pissed at Anakin? Look at it, Obi-Wan never turns to the Dark Side, so he has to spend eternity as an old man. But Anakin gets to stay forever young because he did.

And if you're Luke, wouldn't you be weirded out that your dad looks younger than you. He'd totally lose all respect for his father, and for good reason.

I hate you, George Lucas.

INTERVIEW WITH GEORGE LUCAS (on Fox News)
Time
Lucas is missing the point. I understand his dissatisfaction, but Star Wars is not his to change. How many other people contributed to that trilogy, yet only his opinion is valid? If Lucas created Star Wars 100 percent, why are the prequels so inferior? Cause it's clear he's only working with yes-men this time around.

And as far as the VHS copies of the Original, they're out of print. You should know that George, you put them there.

Updating Special effects annoys me, but I can live with it. Changing actors is absurd. Luckily for Lucas, dead people can't put up much of a fight. As far as added scenes, they really destroy the pacing. I'd say Jabba's scene in ANH is more detrimental to Star Wars the Greedo shooting first. The scene is pointless and inane. Doesn't Han say exactly the same things he said to Greedo?

It's also odd when SE fans say 'you should be happy your getting Star Wars at all' when refering to tomorrow's dvd. Am I getting Star Wars? I consider tomorrow's dvd as much Star Wars as Lucas will after he comes out with all new 'improvements' in a few years.

1995 VHS
Time
One thing that incredibly irks me is when fans of the Special Edition tell others to just be happy with the 95 copies and stop complaining. Sadly, I never bought the 1995 editions for two reasons: I was 10 and back then, USA or the Sci-fi channel would play the trilogy every couple months. I also didn't know they would be the last time the originals would be released (again, I was 10). So unlike the rest of you, I have no way of seeing the Originals in any format. I have the SE's, but I really can't stand watching them. I used to love defend, but after going threw an extenstive anti-hollywood/cgi phase in my life thanks to troma movies, my fanboy love of George Lucas sort of died. It's astonishing how detached he is from the rest of the world.

What I wouldn't give to have the originals. Though I never saw them in theatres, they were my childhood.

I guess there was no need for this post but just for me to vent some personal frustration. I'll go back to lurking now.

Interview?
Time
Has any journalist actually pressed Lucas in an interview on why he's not releasing the Non-SE's? I liked to see that.

The only interviews I ever find are basically promos that ask inane questions and continuously praise him for the 'wonderful wonderful films' he's given all of us.
