Didn’t Marvel fans back in the 70’s request a Darth Vader vs Doctor Doom crossover or something like that?

I’m a big fan of the cover artwork done by Carmine Infantino, especially the ones done for Star Wars Weekly in the UK, but it always bugged me that it’s not possible to find the covers without the title, text boxes, bar-code, etc. as they never bothered to draw anything that would eventually be covered up anyway. So I decided to Photoshop away the text on some of my favourite covers.
Chewie’s first time playing Dejarik: https://youtu.be/urkiePoszu4?t=23
Also looks like they might have brought back Phil Tippett again to do the hologame, like they did for TFA.
I wasn’t really a big fan of the Dejarik moment in TFA as it seemed very pointless (I do appreciate the stop-motion however), but I guess this one makes a bit more sense as a lot of the movie will revolve around the Falcon.
It’s probably edited to be shorter as well. A similar scene was released for TFA, and it ended up being different in the actual movie.
there’s no rule that says a movie has to adhere to anything EU-related
Well, technically there is. (To a certain degree anyway).
More a guideline than actual rule.
True. All I meant is that they can’t contradict it. And of course Saw Gerrera in RO was an EU character. And there’s going to be a few of them in Solo as well.
Clone Wars has always been canon. Pretty sure Saw was actually a George creation, Saw was supposedly supposed to turn up in the cancelled live action series Underworld.
True, but isn’t one of the “crew” in Solo originally from the new Marvel comics series?
EDIT; Never mind. I was thinking of a very similar character.

Haven’t the movies already contradicted the nuEU? That’s what I’ve heard regarding TLJ and the TFA novelization.
Yes, Rey meets Poe in the TFA novelization, and then they officially met in TLJ.
However the novelizations kind of exist in their own odd category.
But I don’t think the new movies can just blatantly retcon the EU like Lucas did with Legends whenever he felt like it.

This is supposedly set 10 years before SW.
Yep. Since Chewie said he was a 190 years old in the trailer that would place Solo exactly 10 years before ANH.

This is by far the shot that has intrigued me the most from the new featurette;
The way I reconcile C3-PO in my head is that Anakin assembled 3po more than he built him , I like the old lore that he was built on Affa or some such planet 125 years before the original Star Wars . I imagine he got in some kind of trouble and was disassembled and left in a junk heap on Tatooine and Anakin just found the parts and put him back together.
Well, that is literally what “happened” in Legends canon. I can’t remember the details, but there was a comic where Vader finds C-3PO’s head on Cloud City and then has a flashback to finding his disassembled parts (I think someone used him as target practice) in Mos Espa and rebuilding him.
I think it’s meant to be a hairless Chewbacca.
(Either way this is the first time I’ve considered what Wookiee ears actually look like.)
Some interesting new info here;

L3-37:
A “self-made droid”, L3-37 has cobbled herself together using an assortment of components from astromechs, protocol droids and countless other robotic sources, devising her own form and function to become something quite unique – with an impressive AI to match. L3-37 is Lando Calrissian’s enlightened navigator and co-pilot. Her programming makes for an indignant, spirited and somewhat eccentric companion, who cares deeply about droid rights. With a mind of her own (after all, she built it) L3-37 is subservient to no one.
Plus, a fair bit of info about Han’s youth and Corellia in the new EU:
Times are tough under Imperial rule, with planets across the galaxy feeling the pressure of the Emperor’s iron grip. One such world that has seen better days is Corellia, transformed by the Galactic Empire into one of its principle starship production facilities, it’s famous shipyards now churning out TIE fighters, Star Destroyers and many other weapons of Imperial domination. To survive the harsh reality that has befallen his homeworld, a young street thief named Han spends his days running scams while working for a notorious Corellian gang, stealing what he can and cutting deals on behalf of his ill-tempered crime boss. Han is unrefined, reckless, and continuously getting himself into scrapes – then improvising his way out of them. Never one to plan too far ahead, Han goes where opportunity calls. Determined to become “the best pilot in the galaxy”, he enlists in the Imperial navy only to find himself kicked out of the flight academy for “having a mind of his own”.
"Abrams, along with casting director Nina Gold, who has worked on both Episode VII and Episode VIII, are searching for a female lead, 40-50 years old, to play the role of “MARA.” It’s common practice for film’s to use code names during the casting process, and that could be the case here. To be clear, we’re only able to confirm that they are looking to fill the role of a female lead who they are calling “MARA.”
Seems like the supposed appearance of Boba Fett that was spotted in one of Ron Howard’s on-set photos is actually just a Mandalorian armour displayed in Dryden Vos’s display room.
That would be annoying if true since she never met Yoda in life, and only being able to see people you knew as Force Ghosts is one of their unwritten rules.
That seems like a pretty flexible rule to me. Also Rey might have seen ghost-Yoda off-screen on Ach-To. Either way it’d be pretty easy to “explain” Rey seeing ghost-Yoda.
Also did Luke know “young-Anakin”? Hayen-ghost is is officially canon.
Yoda set to make comeback in Star Wars: Episode IX to ‘acknowledge Rey’s success as a Jedi’
Obviously to be taken with a grain of salt (especially with an “insider” source), but it does make sense.
Some unused 1982 promo photos by Brian Griffin:
There were more photos, but the three above were the most “funny/interesting” ones:
Is spice just ripped straight from Dune without them trying to hide it?
Well it was quite a tiny little reference until SW became a big franchise with an EU. Had nothing happened after ANH I doubt anyone would have bothered calling it anything more than a small homage.
