Been spending time watching a bunch of movies. Time I usually used for the internet... So yeah I haven't been posting as much. I can't help it, I got all the Star Trek movies on Blu-ray for my birthday. Amongst other movies.
Same here, I've been watching a lot of movies too and I've been busy with prepping for a trip to Africa. It seems like I barely post at all anymore.
And nobody even notices...
I just watched Silent Night Deadly Night 2. One of the worst films ever made. I loved/hated it so much I made a spoof of one of the scenes and put it on YouTube.
Hey, Bingowings made a post that I understand!
More Bjork than I could list.
My publications teacher is making shirts that have our TV station logo and below it it says "Your Mom Watches Us".
He's always doing stuff like that.

It left me angry and confused, mainly because I didn't sleep the night before, so I had no idea what was going on. I felt bad that I fell asleep watching it, because it wasn't really the movie's fault, it was mine. I'm going to give it another shot next weekend when I am conscious.
It was probably really good though!
Which of you guys play the slenderman?
My ignore list still exists of JT34 and.............xhonzi. Still. I guess not being around much anymore hasn't swayed him. :-/
I love Marble Hornets.
On the first episode when it showed Tim I nearly fell out of my chair when I realized it was Nanner! I am proud to say that his scariness made me lose sleep on may occasions.
Thanks for the wonderful web series, Nanner.
I'm going to be so glad when the worst month of my life ever is over. No joke.
I have a feeling that twister's post count is going to start to drop, unless she starts talking about Batman, then we are all doomed.
Ziggy is busy having a life, so he doesn't post as much as he used to.
But I'm here.

i've made $15k a year (way under poverty)
That's about what I raked in during my years of trying to live the Bohemian lifestyle. Fun, but kind of rough. I'd have traded it for a solid forty hour workweek, and steady paychecks.
What kind of a degree do you have, -1?
got a B.S. (bachelor of science) in mathematics from state
college in houston, TX. emphasis on Numerical Analysis.
minored in: physics, computer science, and electrical engineering
==============================
i've had two jobs that i've actually used the degree at,
modelling space station physics at Hughes-Lockheed for NASA,
and mathematical radar modelling for the US government
at the Naval Airbase in maryland.
every other job, i just learned on the spot or had no
experience. the sales job was the best, because i
was a videogame addict, and knew about videogames
inside and out. i didn't even want to be paid, because
i got to play for free, and got the job because my friend
was a manager there...
my degree is still in the cardboard tube that the
college sent me, practically unopened. i've checked it once
and never looked at it again. i was an average
student with a 2.5 / 4.0 GPA, and 3.0 in my major.
the DEGREE IS USELESS, except as a checkmark
to get a reference. i've gone back to try getting
a masters degree twice, but lost interest, and
decided to self teach myself what i needed to know.
college was a waste of time for me, but i know
others that were much smarter, learned more, or had more fun.
i spent most of the time in the gameroom, and
playing videogames.. i never talked to people, professors,
or girls. it was just something to kill time doing.
i hated my original major of electrical engineering,
and flunked out with a 0.5 GPA after 2 years.
got kicked out by my parents, and was homeless
for a very short time.
i went back, because i had nothing better to do and
wanted to straighten out to accomplish something
with myself.
i liked math (ever since i was in grade school).
i lucked into computer programming, and that's
about the only useful skill i felt good about doing
although i'm mediocre at it.
i have NO respect for money, or real use for it,
i've got everything i thought i could want (a few
times over), and am now in the process of getting
rid of everything again.. i live in an apartment,
drive a 19 year toyota corolla (given to me
by a colleague for $1), have no furniture
except a futon, and basically live in a darkened
bedroom with 1 lamp (that i don't turn on).
everything else i own is packed away in
storage tubs or is electronic/computer related.
i should have become a
monk.. (or at least an electronic one)..

It could be a poem.
The Who "Bag O'Nails". It's only 4 seconds long.
Star Wars and Raiders. When I was younger, Toy Story comes close.
Hi Lorne!
I can't believe you joined the site! Stick around!

I just got an e-mail from Christopher Tucker, the guy who put the makeup on John Hurt for The Elephant Man and help do the creatures in the cantina scene in Star Wars.
He's helping me with prosthetics for when I do a show for my school where I actually play Joseph Merrick.
He's a talented guy!
Haha, I knew somebody was going to do this.

captainsolo, I've begun considering going to film school, but I'm not sure now since you posted that. Would you still recommend it?

10/10 REELS OF FLAMMABLE NITRITE FILM
Did I really give it that high of a rating?
(checks)
Yes. Yes I did. I guess I'll have to fix that.
Yeah, I already saw it. To me, it wasn't as funny as the prequel reviews, but it still made me laugh.
Inglourious Basterds
This is another fine example of a movie I've been holding out on for a while, despite the fact that everyone and their dog has been urging me to see it. I guess I really need to stop doing that, because this movie was FANTASTIC.
Being familiar with Tarantino's work, the first thing I knew what to expect was one thing: deplorable violence. And, since this is a film from him, I got exactly what I expected.
For those of you who haven't seen the film, it goes a little like this:
Surreal version of Nazi occupied France that appears to be really exaggerated. The Jews become Nazis, the Nazis still remain well, Nazis. There is also unexpected deaths, blood, morphine, more blood, David Bowie, historical inaccuracy, and even more blood.
In other words, it's a great watch.
One thing I noticed is that this film doesn't skip around. When a scene starts off in a vet's office, it's going to stay in that vet's office until it's time for the story to move on. This type of film making is very effective, and I wish there were more out there like it.
The best part of the film were the last thirty minutes or so.
Plus, Brad Pitt made me laugh so hard, particularly in the scene were he speaks Italian. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about
If you haven't seen this film already, don't do what I did and wait. Get off your lazy ass and see it now. You're doing yourself a favor.
