1933. The good one.
1933. The good one.
This is what the Times Square party will look like next year.
Get it? Because of all that Mayan prediction crap? I'm so stupid.
King Kong. Someone remind me to talk more in depth about it later.

Well you are, like, 5 years old or something. Yo can't have seen every film eva. lol nooob. rofl wtf.
Also, nice stolen avatar dude. You wish you had found it first!
Tomorrow we are watching a Bowie concert AT SCHOOL! My idea, so that pretty much explains why. I am kinda nervous about the kind of response I'm going to get about it. This shall prove interesting.
Did you know that Armageddon got a Criterion release? I have no idea why, personally, I would take every copy and blow it up in space. (see what I did there #2)
To answer your question, I saw some silent clips of the intro to Dexter's Laboratory, played over Celtic drums or something. And then I saw- DINOSAURS! Well, your thread title was accurate...
What's the connection between those two? Why are you putting those two together? I don't get it.
Paging Frink, Mr. Frink......
Twiggy
Fun fact, she made an appearance in a Bowie album cover.
Plus, she even did The Muppet Show.
Taxi Driver
This review has *SPOILERS*
Don't judge when I say that this was the first time I ever saw this film. Now since I've finally seen it, I wonder what I've been doing with my life this whole time.
I don't really need to go into what it is about, because I'm sure the majority of this crowd here has already watched it.
One thing that I was not expecting was how dated this movie is. And I mean that in the best way possible. In fact, it was probably my favorite aspect of the film. Seeing all these ordinary people who obviously weren't extras walking down the street wearing these old clothes really give the film a really retro feel, and upon the first few minutes of initial viewing, you can tell what decade this was filmed in.
Another big surprise for me is that I always thought Travis was going to end up being a bad guy. While he could still be viewed that way, I see his character as the anti-hero type. Did the pimp being killed prevent other pimps from doing the same thing? No. However he became responsible for one less in the world. He still was mentally unstable, and people would have thought of him a lot differently if he had actually succeeded in shooting Palpatine. (see what I did there?)
This movie is probably in my top 20 now, one of the best films I have ever seen.
10 Jodie Foster's out of 10 dead pimps.
Oh joy, I'm so glad you guys gave me the gift of turning my simple thread about what you got for the holidays into yet another argument/discussion about religion and politics!
Seriously guys, keep it in the politics thread. My clickwheel is about to fall off.
More stuff!
The Ziggy concert, Metropolis on blu-ray, the Criterion edition of Days of Heaven, Atom Heart Mother (2011 remaster), Taxi Driver, Inglorious Basterds, A deluxe Batman Begins with a huge booklet, and a couple of Muppet pens.
I got some other things, but those are the ones worth mentioning.
I had such a good Festivus yesterday.

Also, I got Alien on blu-ray individually. Because the other ones suck.
Well, Aliens is good in it's own way, but when I tried watching it after I just got done with Alien, I realized how much of a lesser film it is.
It has it's moments, but just not as many as Alien does.
I need some guitar strings now, I just broke one off playing Pinball Wizard.
This thread will get more posts after Sunday.
Tina Weymouth of the Talking Heads.
Cool story, 3PX. Honestly. That was very enlightening.
This is a thread where you post what sort of cool, nerdy things you have received/purchased for yourself for the holidays.
I have already received some stuff early, you know, like in the mail.
When I saw this thing in the store, I nearly pissed myself (not really, I don't love David Bowie quite enough to involuntarily relieve myself in public).
But anyway, it's pretty in depth, more like a book than a magazine.
Also, I got Alien on blu-ray individually. Because the other ones suck. Not too much else to report yet, however I also got a Fender guitar...
What about you guys? Pics or it didn't happen.
Her eyes are fake? Wow!
;-)
I usually don't. I just like this site.
I don't know which part is real and which part is fake.
I feel embarrassed looking at some of my early posts here. I was so immature. However I still am now, so....
Dead thread, arise!
