At press time, I’m conducting a test render for color correction purposes at a horizontal resolution of 720 pixels, the same that Pixar used for lighting tests. Once that’s finished, hit me up with a direct message, and I’ll send you the color correction test, which will use both eyes overlapping each other.

Got it.

Wow, looking forward to V3. Thank you SO much for all the hard work and efforts that have gone into this project!
Maybe have Tales From The Okefenokee and any other non-Disney owned materials on a separate “bonus disc” after V3 is released? It would be a companion disc to the Disney version. I personally, would love to hear an audio commentary track from a film historian-like perspective. Maybe it could contain the history of Uncle Remus, Disney’s involvements, anecdotes from the production, the movie’s reception, what’s happened since its initial release, etc. But even if none of these extras are ever released. Please know your work is GREATLY appreciated!

thanks

Project 4K80 (a WIP)
Time

Man, I wish I could help out I’ve done dirt clean up before. The thing is 1st you guys probably don’t trust me. 2nd I’m busy doing dirt clean up on two different projects. 3rd and most important my computer can’t handle 4K restorations, I’ve tried doing 4K restorations in the past, but PFClean keeps crashing on me. I guess all I can do is donate with I plan on doing later.

Until then keep it up you’re doing Gods work.

Update April 2nd, 2019: I’ve talked to Notelu (the head of the restoration project), and we agreed that we would not be including any songs or footage from Tales From The Okefenokee as bonus features. The main reason that for the ISO we’re trying to make it look as official as possible but also without tricking people into thinking it is official. So for the bonus features, we’re only adding stuff that Disney would add. And Tales From The Okefenokee is wasn’t owned by Disney. Therefore, it wouldn’t be on an official Blu-Ray. However, there is something we agreed to add, what that is you have to wait to find out.

Update Mar 25, 2019: The Project is still not dead in fact I just finished the 2nd animated segment a few days ago. Because of this I’m going to be taking a break for 3 weeks maybe a month then after that I’m back to work, but I need your opinion on something.

So the YouTube channel “Defuntland” a channel that talks “the history of extinct theme park and themed entertainment experiences.” did an episode on a old dark ride from Six Flags Over Georgia based on the stories of Uncle Remus (the stories that Song Of The South was based on) called “Tales From The Okefenokee” here’s the link to the video: https://youtu.be/rghHLkqVE0A

After finding out about this, I was wondering if we should add the soundtrack and maybe a recreation of the ride or at the very least ride footage of Tales From The Okefenokee as bonus features for V3?

What do you guys think? And also if you have any questions just reply to this post with the question because I would like your feedback.

Hi!

I recently downloaded a 35mm scan rendered at 1080p. However, it has no subtitles but I have added custom chapters that make perfect sense during scene transitions and story arc. Also, I have a Japanese Laser Disc but the problem with that is it has Forced subtitles during the signing. I can offer these to you folks if it would be of any assistance. I would certainly love to compare versions when you guys are completed. I am very happy to see this project to keep an American classic alive.

Ok this isn’t the right place to talk about this (I would recommend going to the Song of the South thread)
But if you could DM me the time stamps for the chapters that would be great.

I also pitched this idea for a commentary track for the film. The track would be Notelu or me and Notelu commenting during the movie about the history of the film, facts about the film, our thoughts on the film, why we did the restoration, the technics we used on the restoration and overall have some fun. What do you guys think?

Hey, guys, I had this idea, and I want your opinion on it. How would you guys feel if we started excepting donations for the restoration?

The money will go towards

-Getting a good camera for scanning the 35mm trailer Notelu has
-Getting better programs to use for the dirt cleanup
-Getting better equipment/hardware to use to prevent crashes and to speed up the process of the cleanup

and other things I can’t think of right now

So what do you guys think?

(P.S. sorry I’m shit at formatting text)

Please tell me how you typed hyphens. They always end up as circles for me.

I put a hyphen before the first word of the sentence

Example

-example sentence

But do you understand what I was trying to say in the post?
