Everybody please get over to the thread and donate whatever you can, even if it is one dollar. Laserman is very ill and his medical bills are astronomical.

Rikter and Coov have done some exclusive DVD covers and put them on a disc along with EVERY custom DVD cover that has ever been posted on OT.com, and Psycho Dayv has created a music CD (the contents of which I have no idea, but this is the Psycho One we're talking about, so you know it will be good). Everyone who donates $10 or more will be sent these discs, so for all of you who have been looking for disc art this is your chance to get them and do something great for a fellow OTer. And if, like I do, you believe in Karma, you'll be doing yourself a favour by donating.

Exactly. You think the government's never done a cover-up? And in this case a cover-up it would be justified - They wouldn't want to disgust and divide the country in a time when everybody needs to pull together, so their motives for covering it up would be in the interests of the nation rather than just to protect themselves.

Anyway, we're going off topic, but those are my beliefs, based on actions by governments (not just the US government) in the past.

Seeing as Luke wasn't in the prequels and Yoda was ruined by the prequels, I will be using only the OT to make my decision.

I love Yoda and his wise, sage-like words. I love the spiritual element he added to Star Wrs and for me Yoda is one of the characters that really elevated the trilogy to something special. I would like to actually meet Yoda and be taught by him.

However, we don't know Yoda's origins and the development he went through to get to that point. It might be that he had a tough life and learned the ways of the ofrce, it might be that he was born that way. We don't know. Maybe the fact that we don't know is one of the reasons we like him.

But with Luke, we see his development. We see his rise from naive farmboy to Jedi, and we can assume that he will go on to be as wise as Yoda, but taller. Seeing as I am ignoring the prequels, Midichlorians are of no concern to me, and I personally do not believe the force is genetic. Some are more predisposed to it than others, but it is available to everyone if they are willing to cast off the shackles of human (or alien) thought and rise to a new level. Han was not willing to make this leap, but Luke was. As a result, we can all relate to Luke, and he can be a role model to us all. We see Luke choose to better himself, resist the quick and easy way to the dark side, and ultimately make good and walk into the sunset to grow even further.

So I guess I vote for Luke.

Hmmm...Now I don't know what to do. I have the original UK DVD box set, which has awesome packaging (much better than the American version) and has lots of extras, but apparently not as many extras as the American version. So do I buy the UK 4 disc version before I leave, or wait till I get to America and buy the US 3 disc set which apparently has more extras, or do I just keep my 3 disc UK set and not be greedy. Decisions decisions!

I don't think you can even get fullscreen DVDs here. Nobody wants them and it prevents parents etc making mistakes and buying you the fullscreen versions when you wanted the widescreen, but can't complain because it's a gift.

I actually believe that Flight 93 was shot down by the US airforce in order to stop it reaching it's target. The good ol' American passengers fighting back is a much more palatable story though (although if I am right and the plane was shot down, I can see the governments reasons. If they had managed to shoot down the 2 planes heading for the trade center, forcing them to crash land in a field outside of New York City, world history would be very different).

This has little to do with the 'is violence justified' discussion, but it does relate to the 'greater good' sub-discussion.

Yes, British chocolate is the best. Like someone said earlier, American chocolate is just wrong. My wife couldn't believe the difference between US and UK equivalents of chocolate bars (KitKat, Twix, Snickers (Marathon etc). There is no comparison. She won't touch anything Hersheys now.

Strangely, the Creme Eggs around here this year were actually made in the UK. Proper ones However, the mini-eggs are the Hershey-licensed crap which disappoints me to no end. Mini-eggs rule.

Luckily for me, there are a couple of 'British' stores around me so I have access to most things I miss, albeit at a cost.

And as 'Yoda Is Your Father' said, cheese is the other thing I think Americans have no clue about. Sharp cheddar ! Um, what exactly is meant by sharp. A little more 'no-flavor' than mild cheddar. I'll take a mature UK cheddar any day of the week. Again, I can get hold of a pretty large selection of cheeses from the UK and Europe where I am, so I'll consider myself fortunate on that front. Now where's my jar of Branston...

It's definitely becasue you don't know any better. I'm gonna try my best to send you all some englsih chocolate. It probably won't be when I first arrive because I have too much other stuff to pack, but one day I will get a big package sent over and then distribute it to you guys.

Dove I think is owned by Galaxy - their logo and packaging is the same - but Galaxy tastes better. As for Nestle, yeah, they rule, but again, teh European Nestle is better. Not sure what it is about America, they have lots of great food and they know how to indulge, but they just can't get chocolate right. The same goes for cheese - unless you go to Whole Foods or a health store type place, you can't get proper cheese - it's all that processed plastic bright yellow shit.
