Affirmative action is bullshit and is doing nothing to bring true equality to the world. As for reparations, slavery sucks, but should the relatives of slaves get money? And should the relatives of slave owners pay that money? NO. If the government makes some kind of financial gesture on behalf of the nation as a whole, then that's cool, but that won't make the long deceased slave feel any better. And why should the relatives get paid? If there was to be any kind of financial payout, it should go towards funding something that will help the fight towards equality, rather than being given to individual relatives of slaves. We need to stop hanging onto the past and work together for the present, and the future.

I think the 30th anniversary will see a rerelease of all 6 movies in theatres, possibly with more changes, and possiblyy in 3D. Blu-Ray releases will follow, but not straight away (to avoid grumbles of 'double-dipping' as you call it, which is quite a nice term).

Luke specifically called out to her. Ben stated that if Luke chose to face Vader he could not interfere. Han was in Carbonite. That leaves Leia, Chewie (Luke's friend but not as close a friend as Leia), and Lando (who Luke has never even met). Who else would he call out to?

No I can't. Like I said - the prequels are crap and full of holes. forget them.
If you insist on explaining Leia's memory of her mother, which is a futile exercise IMO, I would say that she remembers her adoptive Mother who, in her eyes, is her 'real mother'. It might even be that she doesn't know she was adopted so when Luke asks about her 'real mother' she has no reason to think of anyone except the woman who raised her. But that is stretching it - like I said, crap and full of holes.

Luke's actual statement was 'Still... there's something familiar about this place. I feel like... I don't know...like we're being watched' . This is Luke f**cking skywalker, man!! He's strong in the force and the presence of the greatest Jedi Knight ever made him feel something that he couldn't quite place his finger on. That's it. Leave it alone for God's sake!! Even if Luke had not been around Yoda at birth (which he was) I would still not find Luke's familiar feeling comment strange.

If you guys wanna pick at Plot holes, you'll be here forever because, I don't know if anyone has told you but *whispers* the prequels are crap. If you want backstory, watch the prequel teaser trailers, then stick the OT in and watch a proper Star Wars film.

But there are planty of movies that start with two guys being the best of friends, and you don't feel their friendship any less. In fact, I never felt Obi-Wan and Anakin's friendship at all. I didn't give a rat's ass about their friendship or the way it ended.

That's a shit idea. In ANH you even hear Stormtroopers discussing the new T-16 skyhopper or something like that - they are recruits, not all clones. That is much more realistic. We don't need anymore prequel tie-ins.

Actually, fuck it. I've already said that I'm never watching the prequels or special editions ever again, so let him do what the hell he wants. I reallly can't believe they took Star Wars and fucked it up like this. I mean when you really stop and think, it's just insane. And a lost cause.

To prove this point, a friend of mine who is most definitely just your average Joe when it comes to movies saw AOTC on it's UK television premiere last week and commented to me about how crappy it looked, and when speaking about a scene involving Yoda and Mace walking down a corridor he said 'couldn't they even build a real wall?' The fact that he, and not I or some other film/star wars boffin was saying this really hit it home. And this is coming from a guy who though AVP was 'cool'.
