Does anyone here still like Star Wars?
Time

Creative people certainly loved SW (OT) for all the crafts it brought together (painters, modelers, sound ....) + a certain art of story telling.

No need to remain sitting watching it for years scratching your balls with a buck of popcorn (or fish) though. Stuff like this can wake you up , or wake some skills up.

Washing your brain over an over again with the films is all the contrary of Yoda's teachings ! It fanatism (and also running away). Memory should be enough and then you move on.

Edit: of course if you watch it a thousand time to check what's wrong and restore it, that's something else.

Can you list/name the greatest examples in the world of epic heroic myths, past and present?

You guys besides me can think of/list/name any epic heroic myth from the past and/or the present.

Throughout history, we tell each other stories of all kinds and types, especially those in any form, medium, etc., and some of the earliest forms of storytelling are epic heroic myths.

Despite living in an ever-changing world, in keeping in the tradition of storytelling past and present, can you guys list/name/think of the greatest examples in the world of epic heroic myths from all around the world, and especially those in any form, medium, etc., past and present?

Or some of them, if nesscessary?

I would appreciate it.

Are you searching for books references ?

It's brilliant in places.

It's a short watch mind because it was killed before the full first series was finished which is frustrating because just as you get into it, it's finished.

 Killed? Season? I don't understand.

"Firefly" is an awesome miniseries, and it sure was cool how so many people loved it that they made the last episode a theatrical film, like "High School Musical 3"

Ah. So, the film came after ! That's what I thought. (maybe I didn't understand what has been said in the previous posts).

Is there much a difference between 860 and 900 years old though?

Enough for Yoda to look very different in the PT than the OT.

Regarding whether Vader should be Hayden of Sebastian it comes down to whether he should look old or young, not whether the audience can tell that the unVadered actor is meant to be the guy from the suit, because if you watch 6 films then both actors are recognisable, and if you only watch the OT then only Shaw is recognisable.  However, if Anakin was meant to be shown as a young version of himself why did Lucas not cast a young actor at the time.  He had already cast Shaw specifically for the force ghost.  This isn't something where the excuse 'the technology wasn't available' works so it seems that instead it was done purely as an afterthought to try to drag aspects of the PT into the OT.  If he had included Hayden but aged him to look as old as Shaw did then fine, at least that still follows the original plan, but to make him young just because that how he looked last time he was good and we have to be able to make that link ourselves, well that seems to underestimate the audience a little bit in my opinion.

Just to play devil's advocate, I'll answer your question. =P

Lucas did not cast a young actor at the time because that young actor would not necessarily have been recognizable to audiences members. As I said earlier, Sebastian Shaw is the only actor we see play Anakin in ROTJ prior to his appearance as a force ghost. If another actor had played the ghost, some audience members might not have made the connection and realized that he was meant to be Anakin. With the prequels, however, the connection is easily made (again, assuming a "whole saga" approach with a 1-6 viewing order).

Plus, at the time, it probably made more sense to just cast one actor than to cast two! =)

 More simple answer:

Enough to have an adult grand-son !

Never seen Firefly. Is it as good ? (One friend told me "no").
You need a new friend.

Firefly being good is a fact, and if people can't accept that, I doubt their humanity.

"No" was a quick way to sum it up. He wasn't as pleased as with the film so far.

... Fortunately, all my friends are different and have very different opinions than mine, if not totally the oposite for on a lot of things. I wouldn't be interested in having some clones of myself as friends... I'd call that "how to kill your curiosity" !

Anyway thanks for the informative post. Maybe I'll have a chance to watch those series one day.

Hi, just received a PM but I'm not too much in what's happens here. I watched the questions out of curiosity though and the edit Title suggestion got me wondering: why do they stick to that "Jedi" title ?

... Just call it "Blue Harvest" ! ;)

 Wait ... Weight !

'Weight' fits the rule, I'm afraid.  'Albeit' was a good one though :)

 Ah, ok.
