Ugh. The changes are so ingrained now, the nature of the original version is like a vague urban legend now, with people just assuming it couldn't be THAT different.

My 11-year-old son recently went on an overnight trip on a charter bus with the Boy Scouts. They watched the Special Edition trilogy on the bus's video screens. My son starts telling people "These are the wrong versions. Jabba's not supposed to be in Episode 4." Nobody knew what he was talking about, not even the adult (supposedly a huge fan) that brought the movies.

On the other hand, I have raised my son well :)

A while back, my works manager told me that his young son was now getting into Star Wars as he had seen the films on the television. He was thinking about buying him a box set. I was just like...."Yeah, good". I think my manager was stunned that I never carried on the conversation. I mean, what was I supposed to say?  Directing him to any sort of box set is pointing to the SE versions. I can't support that.

I've been quite lucky with the 6" Black Series so far. Boba Fett and Stormtrooper were hard to find and I had to pay over the top to get them. I have never seen the Stormtrooper in any shop and Boba Fett only once after I had already bought it.

The future for the 6" figures continues to be good as so far there are no more prequel figures on the horizon.

The next wave of figures are...

luke Skywalker Jedi, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Sandtrooper (Black shoulder flash). Future releases are...Han Solo Stormtrooper disguise, Bossk, C-3PO, Yoda.

Larger 6" figure sets coming soon are Jabba The Hutt and Biker Scout with Speeder Bike

Awesome work.

I was thinking. How about, at the top of the OT.com webpage there was a banner link over to SaveStarWars.com. That way any casual viewer to this website may click the link. As this site has such close ties to SaveStarWars, could this be an idea? Get the word out there as this site is always in the top searches if someone was to google star wars original trilogy.

What do you think. Yes/no/not possible ?

Would high street stores issue a refund on an opened item ?

I think opening a blu ray box set and then trying to return it would be highly suspicious here in the U.K. Usually, once you break the shrinkwrap that's your lot! I don't think our main high street store HMV give a refunds now anyway only exchanges and  that even trying to exchange an opened item would be a no, no.

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place

There was a Hornet in my shed this afternoon. Big bugger he was.

I managed to put a plastic plant pot over it with a piece of card to shovel him in and carried it outside. Mr Hornet then started to go mad inside the pot and then decided to climb through the holes in the bottom of the pot. I lobbed the pot like a grenade down the garden, it hit the deck and the Hornet flew off.

Crisis over.

Marvel's big event. Someone has killed The Watcher and removed his eyes. Marvel's heroes assemble under the leadership of Nick Fury. Now up to issue #1 and will continue in cross-overs as well.

DC's new mega 52 issue event. I told myself that I would never get involved in these huge year long events again. Well, guess what ? I have taken the plunge again. The Batman of the future takes a trip back in time to try to stop the horrific events taking place under the watch of Brother Eye. Good apocalyptic start in issue#0 and several story strands taking place in issue #2. A long way to go yet so I'll see if I last the run.

Managed to pick  up a new Black Series 6" Stormtrooper. This figure and Boba Fett are selling now for high prices. Had to pay over the top for mine but pleased I now have one. The figure looks excellent and I can see why they are selling out. I saw both Boba Fett and the Stormtrooper for £75 each in London ! I think now that pre-order is the way to go as I can see this over pricing is going to be the normal practice now with figures such as Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Biker Scout (with speeder bike) set for future release.
