I'm just saying that, in the grand scheme of things, I think those two are more recognizable universally than Lambeau is. I've never been to the Meadowlands or Lambeau. I have been to Candlestick and I didn't think it was all that. Still cool to have been there before it was shut down and replaced. But Candlestick has the recognizability due to both baseball and football and the 89 earthquake with the images of pro baseball players helping fans in the stands after the quake hit. That gives it recognition factor.

Meadowlands... I'm not quite sure why it's more popular, but people I've talked to know it. They just do. Dunno why.

I was just remaining objective by not arguing on behalf of my fave team and one that I get emotionally charged about... the Bears and Soldier. That's what objectivity is... removing emotion from a decision or argument and working solely based on facts. I don't know if I could do that with the Bears considering what a fan I am of them. That's just how it is.

I was upset and offended. But I'm not sore. This is something that people get charged about. It happens.

We cool.

I'm glad you are not angry with me. Whatever I said that made you upset with me and offended you(to be honest I am still confused as to what it was), I apologize. As for the stadium issue, I think we will have to agree to disagree. I just like Lambeau better. I like the older fields. And I still think that Lambeau is universally recognizable(imho). And I may be biased, but I just don't see the Meadowlands as anything too special. Its just when I think of great football fields Lambeau and Soldier field make it on the list and the Meadowlands and Candlestick don't. But that is just my opinion

You still havn't answered my question: What about a Superbowl at Lincoln Financial Field?

Hey Bossk, I sorry if I offended you. I wasn't trying. I was just giving my opinion. Look, if you prefer Candlestick and/or The Meadowlands to Lambeau Field, I'm ok with that. I won't agree with you, but I'll certainly not flame you. And yeah maybe I am bit biased when it comes to hating the Meadowlands. The Meadowlands are in North Jersey and home to the Giants and Jets and I am from South Jersey and am an Eagles fan. Can you really blame me?

Please don't be sore at me.

I agree that you have to keep the fire department back until after the threat posed by the Move people inside the house was eliminated . But even after the whole Move house was engulfed in flames and no one still inside could possibly be alive, they were still keeping the fire department back!

As for the bomb, I really don't know too many technical details. I just know that they droped it from a helicopter and when it hit the roof, it went boom. It didn't create too big an explosion. As I recall I think there was a canister on the roof with flammable material inside and when the bomb hit the roof, it caught fire.

I think the main mistake was not doing somthing about Move before they turned their house into a fortified bunker.

Now, just how would the bridge fall on me after you threw me clear of it? And you may have jumped clear but......

*As Warbler floats safely to the earth(via the parachute, at a safe distance from the exploding bridge), he spots a panic stricken Shim jump just clear of the bridge. But unfortunately for Shim , he did not have a parachute and fell to the ground like a lead weight and broke every bone in his body.*

Why not curse the law enforcement or the legal system or the state government? If all they could think to do was curse the teams, they deserve to burn. My god. Get your priorities straight.

Now the Billy Penn curse... that sounds pretty legit and interesting. However, you say the building went up in 1984 "a year after the last championship in Philly." Was this the Sixers or the Flyers? Because you said the Eagles and Phillies haven't won jack since 1980.

Move is a very weird group. But they aren't the only ones to blame for the fire. The city total mishandled the situation. They should not have let Move fortify their house into bunker. They should stoped them long before that. They should not have droped the bomb. That was asking for trouble. And they should have let the fire department put the fire out as soon as it became obvious that the move members inside the burning house were incapable of firing apon them. Instead, they let it get out of control. It cost the city dearly. They had to rebuild all of the homes. Whats worse, they tried to do it on the cheap ,and the houses had all sorts problems(electrical, heating, plumbing, cracking plaster, leaking roofs, etc...) resulting in lawsuits adding onto the ones created from the fire itself. And, I think some of the houses had to be rebuilt again. The really stupid thing is that the city voters releected Major Goode!!

Yes, the last time a Philly team won a championship was 1983. The team was the Sixers.

The last time the Phillies won was in 1980.

The last time the Eagles did was in 1960, (they won the NFL championship game, this was before the Superbowl existed)

The last time the Flyers did was in 1975.

I must disagree with this. And how did you not know where the Ice Bowl took place? Lambeau is the most storied football field in the NFL. Candle Stick isn't even a football field, it's a hybrid. And you still havn't said one work about Soldier Field. The Meadowlands?!? home of the evil Giants and Jets. What is so great about that place. What about a Superbowl at Lincoln Financial Field?

Never really gave much of a passing care where the Ice Bowl took place. What stood out was the snow and ice, not the stadium. Candlestick may be a hybrid, but it's well known. Of course Soldier Field is well known, but I wasn't going to take the side of my hometeam's stadium. Too subjective. I wanted to remain as objective as possible by pointing out other stadiums aside from the one where my favorite team plays. Objectivity rules in this argument. To you, of course, Lambeau is popular. You live in Wisconsin. You are a lifelong Packers fan. To you, the concept of someone not knowing Lambeau is an impossibility. But guess what? There is a world outside Green Bay. And a vast majority of them have no idea what Lambeau is. It's the truth and you've gotta deal with it.

Who cares if the Meadowlands are the home to the "evil Giants and Jets." It's their home and people recognize the name and who plays there. By that same token, I can say who gives a care about Lambeau as it's the home of the evil fudgePackers. So be careful what arguments you make. While trying to poke holes in other arguments, you are actually poking holes in your own.

ummmmmmmmmm I live in South Jersey. No where near Green Bay. And I have never heard of the Packers being refered to as "evil fudgePackers". As for ignoring Soldier field for reasons of objectivity, I submit that by ignoring Soldier Field you are not being objective. And I would perfer a Superbowl played in hell before one in the Meadowlands.
And maybe you being a bears fan and natural rival of the Packers is clouding you judgment of Lambeau. And being well known does not mean good. The Astrodome was a well known baseball stadium.

I also produce web sites professionally, and likewise can offer my mind towards those tasks. User-centered design is the most important mindset to get into as you lay out the navigation and content. This site is pretty good already, but one redesign without that focus can screw a site royally. TF.N is a great example of a bad new design. Everything is weighted so equally now that you can't easily find what you're looking for or know what should carry more weight. And AICN ... that site has been awful from the onset. Content used to be its saving grace, but now even that is mediocre at best.

On a completely different note, I have something to recommend AVOIDING as you try to monetize the site. Popups. Even some -- ne, most -- of the good entertainment sites have succumbed to this temptation. I strongly recommend against it. While banner blindness remains a problem that can't be ignored, pop-up blocking is on the rise because pop ups are more annoying and more intrusive than banner ads ever were. Interstitials are almost as bad. Anything that gets in the way of being able to actually read the content is detrimental to building a loyal user base.

As I've said in the past, I recommend judicious placement of ads and links to other sites who share a cut of any proceeds with the referrer. Then, it's a matter of placing appropriate ads. There is a lot of SW-related stuff (esp. on eBay and Amazon) to which you can link, which speaks to the audience here. If we users can discipline ourselves to use this site as a click-through to these other sites, then revenue can be generated for the site just from our regular online buying habits. Seriously, if a link to Amazon guarantees a cut of the proceeds from a subsequent purchase, I'd be sure to not enter the URL directly and always go through a site I cared enough about. This merits more research as I don't fully understand the terms of these deals. But I do know that many sites have placed ads to several of the major online sites with such affiliate programs in place.

I agree with DigitalMan.
