I don't think the thread needs to be closed, if someone wants to take the risk and post their pic, its their life and their problem .

I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH A CERTAIN PERSON THAT WAS MOST RECENTLY BANNED.

Oh, that. Well, lets not talk about him. It only brings up unpleasant memories.

No way. It would have been brilliant, not... creepy and boring like Spielberg's.

HAVE YOU SEEN 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY ??? THAT ENDING WAS RATHER BORING.

Boring?!?! That movie is a masterpiece!! I've seen it several times, and it was never boring at all!

I wouldn't say that the ending is boring, but it is an ending that I can't get. It's too convuluted for me.

can it be said what form of illness he has? Is it fatal? In either case, my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. I wish this fundraiser the best of luck.

YIYF, when I sold the thread to FrobozzCo, I had a override clause carefully hidden in the settlement papers we signed. It is legal and binding. It gives me veto powers over any decison(s) you make. I hereby invoke that power now and order FrobozzCo to be open for business.

If you consider this thread to be pointless and/or obscene, don't post here. If you don't like that option, and think this thread should be closed, take it to Jay and see what he has to say.

Do you have any proof?

Also if they did shoot it down, how is it that no one saw the plane being fired upon?

Regarding this example, it made me think for a while. It's hard to say how justifiable it would be, as they were clearly fighting to save their own lifes. I belive that, on this case, the whole action was beyond the violence/non-violence issue. Imagine that the pilots were unconscious, wouldn't the passengers do something as well? Regardless of what is imposing the threat, they did the one action they had in mind, stopping the plane from crashing.

What difference does it make wheither they were trying to save their own lives? The point is, the only chance they had to save their lives, the lives of people on ground in the target area, even the lives of the terrorists was to use violence against the terrorists. And Ric, I think the terrorist had already made up their minds before boarding the planes, negotiating with them was out of the question.

Ric, you keep talking about what to do to prevent the Hitlers from coming to power? My question what do you do when he has already come to power and has taken France, Poland, and is trying to take Russia and Britain? You talk about what do to prevent the bullets from flying, but what do you do when they are already flying at you?

Tell me, how did using violence against Hitler create Sadam? Name one evil dictator that was created as a direct result of our using violence against Hitler, and would not have been created and could not have been had violence not been used on Hitler? You can't really think the world would be a better place place if we had just let Hitler take over the world, can you?

You still havent answered this question:

Tell me Ric, would you be for getting rid of our police forces? When criminal resist, the police resort to violence to stop them. Would you be against that? Do want choas and anarchy to rein supreme? Do you want laws against murder, assult, rape, and theft inforced?

  • Yes it is ok to kill to withhold the rights of all humans beings, ie. freedom

  • Jag, what are you trying to do? these two posts are in direct contrast to each other. Is this some kind of joke? Are you doing this for your own amusement? To make fools of us? I'm not laughing. We are tring to have a serious discussion here. So unless you actually change your way of thinging on the subject, don't post the way you just did. And if you don't want to have a serious discussion on this issue (or any other issue), go post somewhere else. OK? This sort of posting makes my troll detector go off.

And Warbler: I don't know if that's the reason people say it (in some cases it may be), but personally I don't think Saddam was a coward; Bin Laden... constantly hiding--what a pussy. Saddam though, he was like a Hitler. I don't think either of them were cowards. Mostly because I think it takes A LOT of guts to stand up to *everyone* who opposes you; and they both happened to have a bite that equaled their bark.

I just can't see Bush becoming a dictator. (it makes me smile just imagining what it would be like to watch him try)

Well if you want to call him coward fine, but surely he is a murderer. If you want to call Bush a murderer too, like I said I am no Bush fan.

However, I thing I can argue the Sadam is a coward. Sadam = dictator, dictator=bully, bully=coward.

I hate the fact the Bush is called a coward/idiot/moron/murderer on this forum more often than is Sadam or Bin Ladin.

I also hate fact that I feel this is done somtimes because some believe it makes them sound cool and brave to go against the U.S.A.

As for Jesus, wasn't he the son of the same God that helped David fight and kill Goliath? I believe their are many other instances in the Bible of that God lending his support for Army or another in wars.
