My niece’s team won the softball championship of the 3 teams of her age group in our town. She is both an excellent pitcher and 1st base person. I am very proud of both her performance in today’s championship game and last night’s game(they had to win last night to get into today’s champion game), and her performance through the whole season

He’ll soon be back. And in greater numbers.

That’ll get him banned.

As long as he walks on a single file line, he’ll be alright.

That’s when I carried him.

I know this was made a while ago, but I only saw it as I was leaving and haven’t had the chance to respond this post of Frink’s.

Frink I am pretty sure that this was an attempted as making light of the fact that I am Christian and I am sure you were referencing this poem:

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND:

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

I think you were making light of that poem too. This deeply offends me. That poem helped me get through my father’s last month. I was constantly praying “God, carry me through this”. If I am wrong in my interpretation of your post, I apologize. But if I am right, that was a low thing to do. I don’t think I am unreasonable in asking for an apology(if my interpretation was right).

FWIW I do not want my daughters to go to an all-female school, I think in general it’s not a good thing for well-rounded development. I just think there are exceptions.

This is probably true at the younger levels.

High school and college students are still developing.

except that most college student have developed to a point of adulthood(at least legally speaking).

The brain isn’t done developing until age 25.

I didn’t say otherwise.

You implied otherwise.

no I did not.

He said that the brain is still developing in college, and you said they’ve, legally speaking, developed to adulthood as though that contradicted what he said.

I said they’ve developed to a point of adult(at least legally speaking), I’ve never said the brain was not continuing to develop in college.

EDIT: I honestly don’t even know what you’re talking about at this point. Your argument has been lost on me the whole discussion, actually.

ok.

I don’t think anyone else understood your argument either.

okay.

Well in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also looking at this matter in a different way and without wanting to fight, and by trying to make it clear, and further by considering each and everyone’s opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say. Thank you for your patience

This post deeply offends me.

As I said before I don’t really understand why my son (the one I don’t have) would need to go to an all-female school.

Why would your daughter need to an all-male school?

I don’t quite understand why a college-aged male would feel the need to go to an all-male college though.

I don’t quite understand why a college-aged female would feel the need to go to an all-female college though.

Safety?

Try to imagine if you had been raped in high school. Just for starters.

So if I was a woman and was raped by a black student in highschool, would I be justified in wanting to go to a whites only school?

I honestly don’t know how to respond to this.

Not wanting to go to a school with the same gender that raped me is the same as not wanting to go to a school with the same race that raped me?

How does a race rape someone?

how does a gender rape someone?

So…in your imaginary scenario, you are not raped by a man or a woman, but by a black person?

In my world, I am not raped by a race or a gender, I am raped by an individual.

Yeah…a black individual.

no, I an individual. I don’t blame the race or sex. I blame the person that did the rape.

Meanwhile, in the real world, the majority of people are raped by a MAN.

just as all other people of the same race of the rapist aren’t responsible for the rape, neither are all other people of the same gender of the rapist.

Warbler, is it really so difficult for you to understand that our experiences help shape our viewpoints, and if you were a woman who had been raped in high school, you might have a different viewpoint than you do now, being a male who hasn’t been raped?

perhaps, but I think that it necessarily justifies women only schools. Again, I don’t blame men or black people for rape, I blame those individuals that rape.

Warbler, I just posted guidelines that the Department of Education has for same sex schools.

I saw.

Well, the guidelines say that there has to be a benefit to having such a school or class, and that having same can not prevent people who are not accepted from attending a comparable school or class.

There is likely no way to provide an all-white school that adheres to those guidelines.

I would think you could provide an all-white school the same way you provide an all black school.

Granted.

Perhaps you could explain.

Is there a reason beyond “avoiding temptation from those evil harlots?”

There are different sexualities, Frink.

And?

It seemed like in your first comment, you were implying a heterosexual viewpoint.

Frink expressed a heterosexual viewpoint! Quick! Burn the Witch!

Until Frink talked about safety, I didn’t see any explanation.

oh wait, if woman is a forbidden term, I would think male and female would be as well.

Good idea.

thanks.
