I have to say that it seems like to me she consented to the initial kiss(but not the tongue business). The groping while she was asleep and the business with the tongue were of course not consensual. I do have to wonder whether he actually made contact with her body in that photo. Is it possible he just had his fingers very close but not touching?

What if I’m 10 and she’s 38, and my parents are 38?

Technically possible with modern science (and one or more evil scientists).

It takes modern science to be a ten year year old with 38 year old parents?

True. Perhaps modern science can instead help me with my poor eye-sight and/or poor attention-skills that led me to misread what Frink said as “What if I’m 10 and she’s 38, and her parents are 38?”.

That would be impossible. I fail to see how science could make that possible.

Three test-tube babies are born in the same year. One of them is the genetic child of the other two. They’d all hit 38 in the same year.

I didn’t know they could do that.

Step-parents. They are both step-parents.

…or clones.

step parents: possible

clones: I don’t know that would consider clones of the natural parents to be parents of the child themselves.

why would that require some sort of science?

It is not at all odd for for couples to give birth to a kid when they are 28. As for the 38 woman trying to date a 10 old, she would have to be a pedophile. (it is illegal of course)

The UK right-wing media’s calendar for next year…

International but when is it International Men’s day?

I don’t understand were the words “Women’s day” left out?

What are Halal Easter Eggs?

Insufficient Diana morning? Does that mean the right wing complains that people don’t mourn Diana enough, or that the right wingers themselves don’t mourn Diana enough?

Poppy rage?

Yes mate, they mistakenly left off the ‘Women’s Day’ from the text.

Thought so.

Halal eggs? http://metro.co.uk/2017/04/16/cadbury-easter-eggs-and-four-other-things-that-are-shockingly-halal-6577659/

Never heard of the term Halal before. hmm.

Insufficient Diana mourning - The Express and The Mail both love a good Diana story (putting a pic of her on the front page sells copies apparently - and they use her a lot, stories, scoops, interviews with former staff and friends, conspiracy theories, diaries, trinkets etc). It’s like a ‘moral’ (financial) crusade to keep a quite one-eyed memory of her alive.

one-eyed memory?

Poppy rage - people not wearing the poppy. For some reason ‘everyone’ has to wear a poppy - for the last few years it’s become an annual debate - those that do vs don’t and why, plus the intricacies of what the poppy represents (and doesn’t). Some more info here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_poppy

ah, you wear the poppy to honour your Vets.

Because Windows Vista is considered a particularly bad operating system in tech circles. And he can’t move because he’s scared, I guess.

I would think Windows 8 would fit more here.

8 wasn’t out yet.

Also, the general consensus is every other Windows OS sucks. 95 sucked; 98(SE) was good; Millennium sucked; XP was good; Vista sucked; 7 was good; 8 sucked; 10 is good.

But of those, Millennium and Vista are particularly bad. 8’s UI might have been horrible, but Millennium and Vista were resource hogs and frequently unstable.

Windows 95 sucked? I don’t remember that. I also don’t remember Vista sucking, but that is probably because I never used it, I went right fro XP to Windows 7, and I didn’t use 7 long before switching to 10. Happened to 9?

If we ignore for a moment that he’s 30, it seems somewhat reasonable to ask her parents when she’s 18, whereas asking her parents when she’s 30 seems weird.

Now, a 30 year old man asking the parents of an 18 year old woman is weirder than a 30 year old man asking the parents of a 30 year old woman, but not because asking the parents in that situation is weird, but because he’s 30 and she’s 18.

Well it seemed like in your previous post you were contradicting yourself.

I’m not so sure. It’s weird for a 30 year old to date an 18 year old (but not illegal cause 18 = adult). But is it weirder to ask the parents of an 18 year old than it would be to ask the parents of a 30 year old? I mean 18 year olds still live under their parents roof in many cases even though they are legally an adult. 30 year olds are usual on their own so asking the parents permission is not necessary.

Were you 30?

No, but it seems customary to get the approval of the parents in any relationship. I’m not defending him by any means, a 30 year old and an 18 year old is really weird, but I don’t get why asking the parents for approval is weird.

It does seem like an old fashioned thing to do if the woman is an adult. (If she isn’t, and you are, you shouldn’t be dating her unless you also aren’t an adult)

LOL. You could see that ban coming a mile away.

Sees Win 8.1 quoted, sees Vista quoted = must post…

We’re also talking about an incident over 40 years ago that Carrie never discussed before. If anyone else on the set was aware, they’ve kept quiet about it. Did she feel Harrison took advantage of her? Did she hold it against him all those years, through three more films together?
It does cast the tension between them on the ESB set in a different light now.

I could be mistaken, but it seems to me a common trend that victims keep quiet about their abuse for a long time.

That’s a tough call. Arguably Ford could also have been drunk. People have had torrid secret affairs on movie productions since silent films even. Being in another country far from home on a long film shoot surrounded by a mostly British crew that could sometimes be hostile to the yanks in their midst is another factor. In that pre internet world one could easily feel cut off from home and family.

Does everything we love have to be tainted by the spectre of this now?

any one who took advantage of a drunk female could argue they were drunk as well.
