I think there are a few movies which you can use some footage. The most popular is “The Other Boleyn Girl” and the scene where Natalie Portman is carry the baby. Used for Episode 3.

Maybe we can start a new thread and try to collect footage from other movies which can be used in Star Wars.

I dont know if this is a “worst” idea, I like it but it doesnt really fit.
Padme is spying/watching during Anakins first session with the Jedi Council.

I agree that the sentence from Mace Windu is helpful for introducing the scene. But for me the problem with putting the training after Palpatines Office is:

1. Does Anakin know in this scene that he will meet Padmé again? It seems not.
2. The transition to the next scene (meet Padme) is too fast for me. From no-mercy-Anakin to “I-am-so-nervos-Annie” without a break or another scene between.

For me its ok to break with some strict Star Wars orders… every film is doing this from a certain point of view.
In another way the Anakin&Kenobi-Training is a nice forecast for Palptine & Mace dialog.

Show, don’t tell 😃 Maybe he is not sure what he is sensing, but he feel something.

In my cut (not published) I placed the new training shot directly after the assassination on Padme. At the beginning Anakin is looking to the skyline of Coruscant and in this order it seems like he is feeling the attack on Padme.

1. Coruscant opening & assaination
2. Obi-Wan & Anakin training (trimmed)
3. Deleted Scene in the Senate (with opening of the senate building)
4. Palpatines office (without opening of the building)

For me the Obi-Wan & Anakin training don’t need a Jedi temple shot at the beginning because it has a long zoom out with Anakin and the Skyline.

I am very copy with the problem, using it since over ten years and I think I know many features.

Maybe we can exchange some experiences of the usage?

For example I have a question about the rendering settings. I am nearly happy with my settings, but in some very fast scenes (for example many blaster impact in a Star Wars movie) I sill see some pixel. What render settings are you using for your fan cuts?

My settings:

Sony AVC/MVC (mp4, m2ts, avc)

Video:
Video format: AVC
Frame size: Custom - 1920 * 816
Profile: High
Entropy coding: CABAC
Frame rate: 23,976
Field order: None
Pixel aspect ratio: 1,000
Bit rate: 16.000.000

Audio:
Audio Format: AAC

Bit rate: 320.000
Audio coding mode: Stere (I started in early past with Stereo and still need to adapt to 5.1)

Project:
Video rendering quality: Use Project Settings

What are you using as rendering settings/format and are you completely happy with your result?

Absolutely brilliant! The person/face Sebastian Shaw is needed, but with his old clothes there is no connection to the Skywalker from Episode 2 and 3 … and with these modification the deliverance of Anakin Skywalker would be perfect.

and have a look at Lukes small wink to the Jedi ghosts in the theatrical version of the movie (was removed in SE)

In contrast to ANH and TESB the deleted scenes from ROTJ has many potential to be reediting into the movie. I agree with you. Especially:

• Luke building this light saber
• Bunker rush (nice action, see the link)
• Emperor is commanding to destory the moon (more dramatic, more evil)

The difficult is to restore these blu ray material that it is matching to the rest of the movies (color, sound, scratches, effects). I think this is a lot of work. But when Adywan can handle this, this would be an amazin change.

I have three other “wishes” for ROTJ:HD

• in Jabbas palace Lando is showing his face (too long) in the camera Thats absolutely useless and senseless.
• At the end, when Luke looks to the Jedi ghosts, in the original version he did a small wink with his eyes. Thats very individual, I like this … but its missing in the SE.
• I like Sebastian Shaw as Anakin, but it would be great if he wear the clothes from the PT Anakin

Just as summary for ROTJ. Someone will like it, some other will don’t. These are my ideas for ROTJ, maybe Adywan like or feel inspirated:

• In Jabbas palast where we see the first time Landos face behind the mask: This scene is too long. Only a short view on the face is enough. Its senseless to enter undercover the palast and show the face for many seconds.-

• The emperor said that Lukes saber looks like Anakins … but it looks like Obi-Wans.

• Vader to Luke: Obi-Wan thought as you … Padme thought as Luke

• At the end, when Luke looks to the Jedi ghosts, in the original version he did a small wink with his eyes. Thats very individual, I like this … but its missing in the SE.

• The Jedi ghosts … I don’t like Hayden Christensen as Anakin in ROTJ too. But please give Sebastian Shaw the clothes from the Hayden Christensen Anakin from ATOC/ROTS.

Deleted scences:
I agree that the deleted scenes for ANH and TESB didn’t match into the final movie. But I ROTJ its a little different

• Luke building his lightsaber: this scence have some kind of magic. Its hard to describe.

• The death star want to destory the moon of Endor. These scenes give the final attack on the deathstar more dramatic and show one more dark side of the emperor

• The bunker rush is cool action but not specially needed.

• Same to the scence where Vader want to go to the emperor.
